Thank you for doing a video about Liberica and Excelsa coffee. This is really insightful. I’m from Lipa Batangas. Liberica is part of our city’s history. I’m a 25 yr. old coffee enthusiast and I started to fall in love with coffee at 18. Now, I’m going into farming Liberica and just planted seedlings this year at our spare land in Philippines. 🇵🇭 I also use it at my small coffee shop for our espresso based drinks from the local coffee federation. Currently, I’m practicing roasting Liberica and Excelsa on my own so this video was really helpful to me.
Interesting. Thanks for sharing. Unfortunately there isn't too much information around roasting Liberica and Excelsa out there yet. The coffees have a lot of potential.
Great Video thank you very much! I would love to see the new type of coffee also in the Ingo’s shop just to be able to order interesting and new type coffee also contributing to lower the coffein which might be a great deal for many people who are searching for the balance in between taste and strength!
For now you can get it from Toby directly. And I would recommend it since many green coffee shops are selling Excelsa under the name of Liberica which is a completely different taste experience.
Great video on Liberica. I picked up some Philippines Liberica Batangas greens last year and roasted them on my Bullet. I wish I'd seen your video first, but I did quickly learn to lower the drop temp and adjust my roast to get the most out of the coffee. What makes the Liberica green coffee look so yellow? It makes it harder to note dry end.
I don't know why the colour is different. But we will do a more detailed video about roasting Liberica. I tried the coffee, Toby has roasted on the Kaffelogic and it tastes marvellous. As said in the video, he shares roasting profiles for Kaffelogic and Aillio Bullet on their website.
