Amen and Amen. Thank you, Lord, for the inspired teaching. May you Lord continue to bless him as he blesses us too. We love you Lord because you loved us first.
Would love to hear this gentleman PREACH. He's certainly an effusive and practical teacher. Really appreciate the accent on simple forthright (story telling). It reminds me of the clear, simple truth giving one can find in the early puritanical writings. I was moved by his reference to Christ initiating a fresh creation in his election of the Apostles. Dr. M.L. Jones was preaching this in the early 60's. Really helps in getting excited about what ELECTION really means. Wonderful, faith building video.
Bruce, thank you for posting all of your teaching... I’m loving this study of Mark! On Sunday evenings our home group is watching The Apocalypse In Space and Time series, it’s my third time through it. Makes a girl want to move to Spokane to attend Sunday School.😊
Maybe I missed it, but would it be safe to say that Joseph had passed and it was customary for the wife to marry the brother, so Alphaeus was Joseph's brother, hence Jesus' half brothers?
I have a question about Arianism Does it go hand in hand with conditional immortality ? I know that millerite religions (sda ) are trinitarian but that is because they had arian influence at the start of their religion Outside of the millerite movement Do Arianism and conditional immortality go hand In hand ? Or they don’t really matter
I think there is a tendency for the two views to come together. Arian type religious have had a tendency to embrace annihilation of the soul for those who are not redeemed. I don't believe that is a firm rule, however.
Fantastic job, as always, Bruce! Thank you! One quick question: Do you subscribe to the theory that the author of John's Gospel was not John son of Zebedee, but John the Elder? Because this is confusing me to no end. If the author was an eyewitness, as chapter 21 clearly states, how can it be anyone OTHER than John son of Zebedee who was the apostle? Thank you in advance!
+regelemihai I've not heard that theory as to John's Gospel. I have heard it with respect to the Book of Revelation. For what it's worth, I think John the son of Zebedee wrote both works. I'm happy to say many fine scholars share that opinion! And thank you for your kind remarks!
***** Richard Bauckam, a brilliant (conservative) NT scholar, apparently holds to the theory that the writer of John's Gospel isn't the son of Zebedee. It's bizarre to me. Anyway, thank you for your time, sir. God bless, and keep up the great work! :)
Sorry but there are 13 apostles not 13 !.Mathias replaced Judas and was counted as an apostle + Paul was an apostle out of season!.If you do the math there are 13 apostles chosen by God (God the Son and God the Holy Spirit) and not 12!.

Interesting hypothesis, although I've not come across it in the commentaries I've used. Maybe you're on to something!
