    I just love the water - those azure blue coves and lagoons, and the wild waterfalls and rivers, and the beautiful ice patterns... But water can also be pretty weird or scary. Great video!

    We go to Emerald Isle North Carolina every year. Every year the sand glows when you disturb it, but a few times the water glowed also, as seen here. Not freaky at all. Most people that frequent the ocean know what this is.

    Well This was really fascinating! I loved the pointy ice rolling waves, lots of bits were amazing but one bit really stood out for me. When I moved to here I noticed immediately that the water from the kitchen tap was smooth edged and ran differently to anything I could recall seeing before. It's still a point of fascination (yes I'm easily entertained!) but now I know what's going on, it's Laminar flow! Cheers Be Amazed, that's me educated for today, now to try remember it so I can look like a smart arse 😂😂

    SO far from all of these I've only seen two: the square waves when I was still in the Philippines and the convergence when I visited the city of Koblenz, Germany, where the River Moselle and the Rhine meet.

    the Fraser River and Strait of Georgia don't mix well together because one is fresh water and the other is salt water. It Has little to do with the silt in the Fraser, in fact, many other freshwater streams pour into the Fraser and immediately disappear.

    26:24 Actually, ferrous oxide is black. It doesn't have any red tint at all. You likely meant ferric oxide (aka rust) which is a strongmreddish brown color.

    In 2019 i got caught in square waves while taking a swim i didn't know it caused damage. When i went swimming i noticed that it was hard to stay above water and accepted my fate but my friend did end up saving me i now have a fear of swimming in the ocean today.

    like 8 years ago when i was a kid me and my siblings were swimming at a beach at fraser island in Australia, and we saw the grid waves, but we had no idea what they were at the time so we kept swimming, somehow we didn't get stuck though, thank GOD.

    Something not mentioned here is the golden brown frozen Tahquamenon Falls in the U.P. of Michigan. They're brown because of the iron and copper in the ground and it often gets cold enough to freeze the falls. It's pretty cool actually [in more than one way]. 😁

    You can go to any QuikTrip in the U.S., bring in your own cup or mug or insulated beverage container up to 1 gallon size to fill up at their soda, coffee/frozen coffee, slushy self-serve stations to pay a little more than a buck for all the single to mixed flavors you desire.     I saw an ocean convergence once. We were boating between Washington, USA, and British Columbia, Canada. Near the straits of San Juan de Fuca, we came upon a dividing line in the water, two distinct colors. My dad knew what it was... still it was bizarre to see.

    Anything deeper or murkier than a swimming pool for some reason freaks me out. I love being on a boat on the lake, but if I look down and see that really long seaweed that seems to descend into a dark abyss - nah.

    When he was talking about the foam thing, it reminded me of when we got a water check and apparently I’ve been crazy because of chemicals that were in the water and since my body has been soaking up the water from baths and chemicals are like off the charts, I’m crazy

    You can create a device to produce laminar flow out of a piece of pipe and drinking straws, the smooth surface of the straws removes noise from the water flow.
