@@ktzach11 its not salty. Hes right. I switched to controller 2 years ago. Aim assist made beams like this waay easyier for me. But i know that you know it too. Controller players should be atleast more real about their advantage. And stop being this toxic about people who call this out. I played 1 year with no aim assist, but with gyro. And when i decided to play with aim assist instead of gyro, i did my controller configs. And after i beamed my first target on firing range, i was like "HOLY ****, what just happended?" On Controller with gyro, i was on the skill lvl as i was on M&K, but when i played normal on controller with aim assist. It brought me to a whole new lvl. Now im always on top 3 in TDM and so on.

With hipfire so strong in this game, I don’t recall very many times I’ve lost to a tap strafe.
What happened was, TSM Reps made a tweet during ALGS last weekend referencing a video of the most egregious forms of configs. It went viral and the next day, I witnessed NON-APEx streamers talking about.
EA caught a shit ton of flak right before there first quarterly launch so they were forced to make a knee-jerk reaction until they can come up with some better compromise
@@NSA2k pretty sure treeree responded in a later tweet saying controller should have W/MW tap strafe...regardless it kinda sucks right now as most the time I was tap strafing running trying to live or rotating, not tap strafing and shooting. Now i feel like i die so many more times when normally i'd make it to cover. Switched over to MnK for a bit and honestly its not hard to be competent in (granted I have 1000s of hours on MnK over the years, benefit of being 36 i guess). Just keep praying we get a solution and get it back in S20

The moving while looting config should be in game.
so two major key points here:
1. Reliance on any external solution to input is bad for the competitive nature of the game. 100%.
2. There is no good reason Respawn/EA can't put some hours in and implement controller tap strafe toggle in the game menus.
(the same way district and everyone else had it setup, it would replace your sprint button and toggle auto sprint. still takes some time to master it the same as it does on MnK).
Ultimately that would prevent it ever getting out of hand and allow even Console users to learn to lurch.
For the record I use MnK, but I have controller experience into the 100s of hours.
I just wanna see the gap close between mnk and controller finally and be at a point that everyone agrees is a level playing field.
& I still feel that blocking scripts was a net positive for everyone..
Props to all the controller players who are adapting and not complaining too much- you have to understand why this had to happen...

As an MNK player, the problem with tapstrafing on controller isn’t the movement itself, it’s the fact that you can move and still have aim assist. As you said (and showed) yourself you dont need movement to dominate lobbies, it’s just like the cherry on top. I think it would be awesome if respawn could add it back in some way, but until they balance aim assist it’s just a bit overkill. Just my opinion though so I would love to hear what a roller player has to say about it.
Aim assist is a fucking spit in the face to people who put the time in to get better. Shouldnt be in games period. Unless its actually shit to look about like gta v or something
Controller player here. Controller needs AA because we only have our thumb, MnK players use their whole arm thats far more muscles you can be precise with. It can be nerfed yes for like 0.1 so it would be fine, or 0.2 max. For tapstrafing, i think when they nerf aa they could bring it back in since that config was the only thing i used on roller, but im fine with removing every config if thats the price im paying for
It's always a balance from Respawn to balance between controller and MnK. I personally think whatever MnK can do, controllers should have the same abilities. Why don't Respawn introduce their own configs? That way they can be limited to particular things. More control, removes the abuse.
@@ArosOG - we understand your using your thumb. If your on PC, no AA since you have access to higher frames + Mnk. Leave controller for console / casuals. A competitive scene should have 0 assists, absolutely zero. If you are using an input which needs machine help, disable it for competitive.
Now i understand this is overkill, but this game will never become competitive until they actually split lobbies via input or completely disable AA on PC
At the very least, disable AA in ranked PC games and only allow it on standard games.
God damn this argument dude. Adding in movement detracts from aiming and vice versa. It's not like you add on top all of the advantages of movement the AA. He mentioned in the video.

@ Super advanced movement isn't necessary for roller. Not unless it's configs then I think it's cheats not just on roller if you're on mnk and using configs it is still cheating. I think Aa needs to be nerfed on pc due to the higher specs aa feels strong but most movement is still available on roller/console. Super glides, strafes just maybe not neo Strafing or tap strafe.

This is what I always told the people who gave me shit for tap strafing on roller. They said I’d be dogshit without it and I’d always tell them that controller players are 10x better without it due to them only relying on their aim/positioning.
After I got used to tap strafing I started going for clips rather than trying to make the smart plays, now it’s just straight laser beams 24/7.
For anyone who is wondering, he is ok with them removing tap strafe, he makes the video so they will at least keep the aimbot on rollers wich is the only thing they need to win 2v1 fights and then claiming they are pro coatches.
The Only reason ea keeps the aimbot for rollers is because they want their money.

Literally only people using third party advantages are the ones getting upset. If it was simply just a fix in the near future to involve the ability to tap strafing on controller, then no one would be upset? But it's people manipulating the third party configs to be put in VERY natural movements. It's not a ban against tap strafing, it's a ban for people abusing the third party configs. I don't disagree either, it's ridiculous as of late. But as other cheating "third party software" are considered cheating, then why isn't a third party controller config (manipulator) considered cheating? It is.... It's not naturally part of in game binding.

@@Kamkeanwhat are you even talking about tap strafing on mnk is 100x easier. A friend downloaded the game and i told him how to tap strafe he did it in 2min. U literally just use mouse wheel and turn to the side. Both inputs should be able to tap strafe or none. The other configs need to be banned but not tap strafing. Also I've played console for 20 years and got a pc for another game, I've tried apex on mnk for the lols and never went back to controller because it feels so much better without any input lag which EVERY controller has.
@blorbb5398 u clearly haven't tried chaining ras strafe bhops if thats ur actual take. Maybe try using the other input. The reality is it's extremely hard to chain lurch strafes with a mouse wheel and not lose momentum. Doing so with a "normal" tapstrafe macro on roller is trivial. Do you know how I know? Cause I played on both input! And roller is way easier to do all advanced tech than mnk will ever be.

@@korefighter so you’re okay with macros but upset about AA? Do you know what happens to AA effect when you turn up your sens? Are you upset with 4/3 linear because they’re 2 different things. No controller movement player gets a huge benefit from Aa. And you can add angle snapping to mouse which is AA in a mouse which you can control.
The problem is there will always be cheaters, weak people cry and dumb devs listen. No actual cheating was addressed but now we can argue about a controller nerf and devs appear to be doing something

Ban all cheats and cheaters. All the things the video shows for the Steam Configs are available for M&K either with macros or other cheats. All the content creators acting shocked when you see in their Videos insane movement, looting speed and armour swaps, which funnily enough never happens when they are in LAN Comps.

Tap strafe should be allowed on controller but not with configs! Controller should be able to do any movements by inputing differents buttons afte each other in a perfect time frame= skill. Not just one button= configs = cheats. (I am an MNK player)

I'm glad you are not just giving up since configs are gone. Anyone who does that may not have confidence in themselves that they are actually good. I've always thought that anything you can not do naturally on controller, needs to be removed.

Dude we have to constantly scroll to do long strafes. That means we have to roll our whole finger down the scroll wheel cuz if we don’t we lose the strafe. Yu with your “totally legit config” press a button down without having to worry about that at all. The one time I’ve even gotten destroyed by a mnk player it was faide.

Alot of controller streamers are leaving because tap strafing was removed. They cant hang without it.
Controller player back then said that they dont have movement,but only got aim assist,but after controller got their own movements buff,people abuse,there is not a single way they would let controller have both,sure PC is way easier,but aiming requires a lot of focus,thats where aim assist help controller players play for hours,normal pc players get exhausted after 1 hr

I’m a diamond level ranked player who plays on console in PC lobbies. Occasionally I switch to Console lobbies and the skill difference is night and day. Playing against MNK is exponentially harder.

The guy who made that ruined it for all of you lol yes EA can block it but people will find ways to do it again just like hacking. The issue is the tech era its a double edged sword. Yes its great for gaming, but hacks are literally coming out weekly if not daily. Its been estimated that gaming online will be ruined in the next couple decades because of it if not sooner.

Has anyone actually confirmed that the tap strafe fix stopped all those cheat configs? Neo strafe I'm sure. But, macros still work so I'm skeptical that they even stopped them (1 button superglide, turbo looting). Either way it is nice to not have every other octane neo-strafing while hitting every shot.
District, please talk with EA about the delay on controller attaching to a zipline. When you attach in keyboard is faster or without this delay, compared to attaching on controller. Which makes super jump almost impossible on controller.

@@TheRealDistrictPlease check for yourself, I feel that the delay on controller is just after you attach to the vertical Zipline (not before) making super jump super difficult. My PC is quite powerful, so I discard any lag related to that. I got to that lag conclusion by attaching with the controller button and trying to super jump with the mouse wheel. When attaching with a keyboard key there is not that delay that seems to appear after attaching with a controller button.
Ok so you have to be living under a rock cause you’re saying that this blew up out of nowhere. Seriously? This has been an issue for years and it’s not a direct attack against you nor other roller players who tap-strafe. It’s Respawn finally taking action against cheaters that use both inputs to gain an unfair advantage. Don’t act like the victim when they’re doing something to help you have a better experience, even if that means taking away an essential tool like tapstrafing. You SHOULD be able to tapstrafe but at least they got mostly rid of config cheaters on both mnk and roller. Be grateful and switch inputs if you really miss it that much.
*I’m on mnk and I’ve had to sweat my ass off for a year in order to significantly improve my aim while you have almost a 50% rotational aim assist which is effective even at longer ranges.* We’re all trying to have fun and the playing field will hopefully become more leveled as time goes on.
It is your controller community who've destroyed every balance with the configs such as neo-strafe configs, insta-shield swaps, no recoil. But on the other hand, why should roller be allowed to tap strafe, neo-strafe etc when it is not physically possible and have AA at the same time while mnk can do movement that is possible for mnk but no AA? Mnk shouldn't have AA ofc, but roller shouldn't be allowed to use movement that isn't physically possible on roller.

I think it's right that they banned controllers because I saw pro players shoot without any recoil but when I tried to buy a controller, it was very difficult to control the recoil.

you keep saying a simple tap strafe. dude i have 6k hours on mnk on apex. i can tao strafe after hours and hours of trying! and till this day i still cant pull it off mid fight! its hard to pull off on mnk! not even 1 in 100 mnk players can pull any fancy movement off. for the love of god grow a pair and learn how to play mnk instead of saying cfgs are fine.
I quit playing this game maybe 8 months ago with 1k hours played on mnk, I switched to warzone and the frustration I have over aim assist in that game went to levels I didn't know I could reach lol. But I came back to play after all these cool changes coming and configs being gone, and my mechanics were so off, just trying to get it back, I could do a lot of basic movement tech and used to be able to tap strafe and I couldn't even after maybe 2 days of 5 hour sessions of playing, my whole muscle memory of that is gone, it is easy once you get it down and have the hours of playing and practicing, but that's exactly what it takes to be able to do that for a normal non cracked person like me is hours of practice. If tap strafing can be applied to controller by just pressing a button that reduces the skill gap for controller so immensely. It absolutely is cheating to just press a button for it imo. Tbh, I don't see a way to make it balanced cause I feel it would either be too hard to not be viable in the game or too easy.
