I'm literally in the same boat. I'm throwing myself into decorations and Christmas content as a means of escape.
This brought me to tears, me to! I was dreading turning 70 on January 18th. Now that's 2 days before the orange one takes office & he's making one bizarre cabinet pick after another.
Really great advice to slowly build your collection of holiday decorations that you use every year. That’s what I did last year and it is a relief to already have some items since money is tight this year for us. Even a single candle, hand soap, or holiday coffee creamer are small things that don’t break the bank but still get you in the holiday spirit!

I’ve been waiting patiently this video lol 😳I love the christmas patchwork tablecloth 😍I love all patcwork look in general . But I only love %100 cotton fabric , especially for home wear ! So healthy for skin , It's hypoallergenic and cotton is soft, absorbent, and breathable . And so so much cozy feeling 🙂↔️ 📚Holiday books so good for ☃️🎄seasonal readings . Writing yourself a note for the next year is genius. I've started labelling my bags of lights (which are for which tree, which have extra bulbs to use for burnt out ones) but somehow I always forget to tell myself what I'll need next year cuz somehow I think I'll remember it... And lemme tell you... I have never once remembered until everything is up and I go "shoot, I need that one thing...".
It helps so much because I know "oh ok this is what I actually need" not just this is everything I want to buy hahahah

Hi Carter ! I just found your channel. My easy tip for CHRISTmas decorating is to hang ornaments on the wall & take the lights & hang around the doorways. It's a cozy easy way to decorate. I have health issues & the idea of decorating a tree & going all out then having to later take it down is too much. So I just found this is the easy way to decorate without over doing it 😊 I love your channel & my dads parents were from Canada & I grew up in Vermont . I'm now in East TN. 🙂

Hey! I feel you, I don’t love overly cheesy holiday romances all the time. Butttt I might have a few recs!
Last year I read “Murder at Maybridge Castle” which is a vintage-y whodunnit set I believe in the Cumbrian countryside. It was a 4 star book for me, 3 stars for the plot and 5 stars for the vibes! Loved the setting:)
I also read “Home for CHristmas” by Courtney Cole last year, absolutely loved it!!! Like seriously one of the few 5 stars reads of last year. A woman in Alaska gets lost in a snowstorm and wakes back up in the 40s, I loved the lessons of love and hope in a WW2 and snowy remote countryside setting!!
Apart from romances my holiday tbr includes a bunch of cozy murder mysteries like “A Chapter on Murder” by Sue Minix and other cozy novels like “The Christmas Bookshop” by Jenny Colgan:)

I went to the same Christmas market on Sunday. Such a good one. I was shocked by all the vendors! It was packed! Where did you get the Diet Coke ornament? I need it!!!😂
See the key with any market is you have to go when they open on the first day to beat the crowds! No one was there Sat at 9am!! Diet Coke ornament is from Homesense ☺️

If its written similar to Holiday Romance I feel l won't love it- I liked Holiday Romance but was annoyed at the amount of dialogue there was. Felt like there was no depth to the romance at all and I ended up giving it 3 1/2 stars!

I totally relate to not loving cheesy Christmas romances! I would rather watch them, also. I haven’t read either of these yet, but this year I picked up The Christmas Appeal by Janice Hallett and You Better Watch Out by James S. Murray for some non-romance holiday books.

Love your videos! If you haven’t read The Christmas bookshop by Jenny Colgan it’s an excellent read. It did have some romance in it, but the storyline was so much more than just romance. I read it in about 12 hours because I couldn’t put it down. I’m excited to get some more of her Christmas books.

Ok so we all went through a buffalo plaid christmas phase???? It's not even that it wasn't cute but I think with holiday decor you cannot go based on what's trendy or one certain pattern/design because it's never timeless and you just get tired of it!!
