You seemed concerned about deforestation. Then you should know that the Ugandan Wildlife Authority is one of the strongest institutions in the country, and that Uganda is the most professional country on preservation on the continent.
Palm oil has a bad reputation, but small scale production by the locals is actually very good. Especially when they use their traditional knowledge.
It is said that the Bachwezi people of Kitara Empire were the earliest people we know about who started with agriculture, by the source of the Nile. The Ugandans have enormous amounts of knowledge about agriculture, and has successfully provided for millions of people for tens of thousands of years. This without destroying the soil as we do in Europe, on the contrary Uganda has the richest and most fertile soil on the planet.
The pineapples you saw are of the highest quality in the world. Scientific research has studied and compared pineapples from the different countries, and found that no one was more nutritious, juicy and sweet as the Ugandan pineapples😊

Wow, you are so privileged to have visited a shrine. I saw from the type of plants and how they were arranged that it was a shrine you were entering.
A clan is not the same as tribe. A tribe has many clans, Baganda has a bit over 50 clans. The monkey clan is locally called Nkima. One of the most famous people from the Nkima clan today is the artist Bebe Cool, which you should check out by the way.
I could see at the shrine that there was a spear by the fireplace in honor of Musoke, which is the Lubaale (Guardian, or Balubaale are gods with small “g” as they say) representing the Rainbow.
The barkcloth you saw is called olubuggo in luganda language, and it is a very interesting process to make them, which you can also find videos of here on TH-cam.
The drinking mug is called Ndeku.
You asked about the local name for the Chilli, it is called Kamulali.
And the hotel you stayed at was called Mirembe, which means Peace😊

Why Uganda is not recognized as the best English speaking country, because everyone speaks English like their national language ⁉️⁉️. They really need to be praised .
