With the thing about having more eggs than you need, I hatched a shiny dreepy in scarlet after 13 eggs. I had 60 in my pc box. It took me an hour to hatch the rest of them. I'm completely mentally stable after this. Edit: Update I am going insane over hisuian zorua eggs I'm over 1300 eggs deep and have 17 other random shinies from running around hatching the eggs I want this to be over already
This is honestly the only game where I HAVEN’T hated Masuda Method. Because I can just get the eggs by pressing A a few times every couple minute when watching a show and while hatching the eggs I can do other hunts or explore instead of dedicating all my time to just masuda which always felt super boring and slow. Being able to multitask like this is just so much less frustrating and feels way less tedious
Disagree having to stop and breed separately literally makes you use more time. Before I could do both at the same time now, I'm forced to hatch everything first, then wait 30 minutes for my pokemon to breed out some eggs again while I scroll on TH-cam. A game mechanic based on just sitting around and waiting for something to happen and occasionally pressing one button is not a good one. I'm willing to die on this hill, eggs needed a revamp but not this.
@@Nerevarine420 sitting around for a half hour to an hour getting eggs by pressing A definitely isn’t fun or engaging, but neither is spending 10-20 hours running back and forth gathering eggs . Allowing you to hatch eggs as you do something else is the only thing that makes masuda remotely tolerable. Masuda method was absolute ass to do in older gens and legit just felt like I was wasting so much time doing absolutely nothing, where no part of the process was enjoyable in any way. At least in this game some part of the process actually feels engaging, since I’m actually doing stuff while hatching the eggs. If you don’t agree that’s fine, but I’m not changing my stance on it either.
@Totally Not an Intelligent Systems employee yes but what people like you have a hard time understanding is the fact that you can not hatch and breed at the same time means you have an increased hatching times in general. It's not like the removed the hatching part ? You still have to run in circles for minutes at a time, and the animations for the egg hatching are probably the longest of any generation since, like gen 4. No matter what you do you will always have to sit around for at least 30 minutes to get eggs
@Totally Not an Intelligent Systems employee also I said eggs needed a revamp but this system literally makes it worse and makes you spend more time. Not even the only person to bring this up a poketuber did a side by side of breeding in gen 8 vs gen 9 and gen 8 smokes it in terms of time actually spent.
@Totally Not an Intelligent Systems employee also in what way is it more engaging to have to sit for 30 minutes at a time and occasionally press a button rather than idk ? Actually, play the effing game ? This logic makes no sense to me. Every egg power sandwich lasts 30 minutes, meaning you will be sitting and scrolling on social media for at least 30. I also don't get how Matsuda is better in this game when it litterally takes longer ? Even if I get my shiny early while hatching eggs I still have to hatching others lmao. Meaning even if breed out 200 eggs, you are hatching 200 eggs vs. being able to stop immediately after you get a shiny pokemon. Also like I said but you chose to ignore Eggs needed a revamp, but this one made them worse by far, and I don't see how you can actually argue it didn't?
Couple of tips: - If you use a sandwich, you can find a load more Iron Valiant in the lower section of Area Zero, where Glimmora and what not spawn - If you put an Everstone on a Ditto and breed it with a regional form mon that also has an Everstone, there is a 50% chance that the Ditto's nature will be passed down

One way I’ve found to masuda hunt without as much clutter is to: 1. Save with auto saves off 2. Get an egg power lv. 2 boost 3. Spend 15 min breeding (30 eggs) 4. I actually think the masuda method is better in this gen. Well collecting eggs isn't as time consuming. And with egg power, they hatch quicker. Its unfortunate that mass release isn't a feature in the game and is only for home. Also strangely I noticed that release is an option for eggs but I haven't tested it out.

13:00: Absolutely. It took me like 12 years on-and-off to finally hatch a shiny male Pidove in Gen 6 from my Gen 5 Unfezant that I named in honor of my pet bird who had passed the year prior. I eventually felt it was fitting that if I were to obtain a shiny male Pidove he would have to have Peter as his father, both for the extra meaning behind it and my Unfezant's apparent superior EVs. Ended up scrapping the full-odds route and obtained a Japanese female Unfezant after years of trying, and years later finally hatched... a shiny female Pidove. Kept on keeping on though, and eventually it happened, and I couldn't be prouder of my boy and his son.

Nice video! As far as having leftover eggs goes, I usually save before I enter my picnic and start making eggs. I get 60 eggs from the picnic, hatch them all, and if there's no shiny I reset. This way you don't have to mass release so many at the end and hopefully don't get left with a bunch of eggs after! I guess it doesn't work as well if you find other shinies while hatching because you'll wanna save those lol
I've found the breeding in this game to be pretty alright. I just make a sandwich and then go do something else, then just check the basket every 5-10 minutes depending on Pokemon compatibility and sandwich egg power level. Once I have quite a few, I grab my Talonflame for Flame Body and 5 eggs and head to the Cortondo olive roll field. Unlike in towns there aren't any obstacles here other than the ball and the edges. And unlike most everywhere else, no wild Pokemon spawn there. There's also not very much lag there. So I can just press the stick to dash and blindly hold it at an angle so I drive in circles until something hatches. No more running back and forth repeatedly to breed like in old games. And the only regions I've had easier hatching in were Unova and Kalos where the Battle Subway station and the middle bit of Lumiose City are circular so I could find a circular path around it with no NPCs and put spring clamp things holding D-pad left and B to run endlessly hands-free. It's possible but note difficult to use a rubber band to hold the stick at a suitable angle in SV, but even just using my thumb I'm pretty sure I'm hatching stuff way quicker than in old games, probably because when dashing, Miraidon travels way more "steps" per second than previous games bikes. Violet does seem to lag more than Scarlet. The best theory I've heard is that it's the glow effect on Miraidon's jets. Moving the game data (or for cartridges, update data) from your SD into system memory can also reduce lag though how much depends how fast your SD card is.
Interestingly once had the opposite situation when it comes to the lag! I played Violet first, and didn't experience much lag even in Tag Tree Thicket, and Cassaroya Lake. In Scarlet, I'm getting so much more lag everywhere.
@@SylGordon Some people are complaining about increased lag in the latest patch, which was supposed to help with lag, so it could be that. I recall there being a memory leak in the original that the first patch addressed, where if lag got bad closing and relaunching the game would fix it. Maybe something like that is back. Also if you have one physical and the other digital or one game or update data on your console and the other on your SD, that could make a difference.
@@joemck85 I was experiencing this before the most recent update, I haven't actually gone back to Scarlet in a month or two now. I'll have to see how the performance is next time I load it up! :)
Hatching eggs isn't bad in SV. It's just so easy to find shinies by just running around (particularly with sparkling power) that hatching eggs feels slow and tedious by comparison. I much prefer the method of collecting eggs in SV compared to previous games (I went back to SwSh after collecting every SV shiny and maaaaaaaaaaan I hate how slow it feels in older games 😭) My only gripe with the method in SV is that I feel the need to collect eggs in advance if I want to shiny hunt on stream because I don't think it would be very interesting for my viewers to watch me stand on the spot and press a button every few minutes for half an hour before I even start hatching anything, but that's a pretty niche problem for me as a streamer so I can't be too mad at it lol. I ended up only using the breeding for the shiny starters anyway. I may use it again for all the shiny Flabébé forms or something, but breeding in general isn't worth the time for most Pokemon if they're available in the overworld because it's just so much faster to get them that way, even if they're hard to see and you have to use let's go mode to check them all.
I think this game has the best way of getting eggs, because you can go wherever you want while getting eggs, meaning you can hunt overworld shinies while hunting egg shinies
Your shiny luck is insane, I’ve been playing since the game dropped and I’ve only had 7 shiny encounters whilst actively hunting these little bastards. My shiny charm might as well be a cosmetic item
Masuda method does not require a lot of thought, hatching eggs can be done almost afk. It is necessary for shiny starters but is also excellent for Pokémon that are really hard to spot or shiny hunt normally.
Dude I love this video, I dont really watch Scarlet/Violet videos after losing interest after 5 seconds, but this was really good dude, had me till the end 👍
Kudos to making youre subs beyond 1k. You were excited for the little bit at the start of the video. I dont know where you find the patience to find shinies via musuda method but I gave up on that in ultra sun. I tried for over a week straight with squirtle hatching over 2700 and never got it. I will never do it again.
@Diantha LastName It's not by "legal" means, that's for certain. You have to know someone with early access to them then join a Union Circle picnic with them and only bring a Ditto. Wait by the basket and collect your egg and it'll hatch into your desired Pokémon
I feel the pain of this hunt. Oh god do I feel that... Lemme put this way, I spent about... two weeks? Masuda Hunting Veluza before Home Compatability dropped because oh hell no I'm not dealing with the Wild ones, far far over odds before I got it, and then in the middle of a Dondozo outbreak... one is just... there.... *sigh* Oh and then theres a couple of other Masuda projects I still need to finish, and I sure as hell aint doing another Veluza.
I honestly prefer the egg breeding in this game by a lot. Instead of running around and having to go back and forth to the day care you can just load up on eggs and either tape the controller to go in a circle or jump into the west paldian sea and just swim north until you run out of space, all the while swapping eggs every 5 hatched
You can do a similar thing in other games, you can just load up on eggs and come back to the daycare for more after hatching quite a few..you don't really have to stay near the daycare
I love this game's masuda method. I've hatched shiny Quaquaval, Greninja (twice cuz someone requested me for one), Cinderace, Charizard and Blaze breed Tauros and luckily I got 2. Best way to hatch is turn off autosave, save before make picnic, gather few eggs (I usually go till fill box) and hatch away, if no shiny reset and try again. This just makes it less tedious to release eggs
Wait until the games decide to add in said "forbidden" pokemon that is if they decide to, with the intro of the decidueye event Rowlet are now accessable through trades naturally XD
@@trailspokemon almost exactly 100, actually. Pretty much every game I have has 100-200 hours into it. Arceus is up to 164 right now and the only shiny I've seen was the ponyta. Admittedly, I have a couple hundred eggs under my belt with no shinies, too, but the rate is 1/683 and I only have about 300 because I'm impatient. And realized I need a Healing Dew goomy before I start shiny slug hunting anyway, and you can't get one of those without... Immense luck in a tera raid...
Strategy I've done to avoid overbreeding is to save before picnicing, make the sandwich, breed, hatch them and then reset. It's more manageable to just do 30-ish or so eggs at a time.
I am terrible at getting shinies. I am new to Pokémon (played Blue when i was young, then Arceus and now Scarlet). I googled a lot of stuff but i rarely see shinies. I did randomly find 2 scream tail shinies, but i thought i got the shiny charm when i mostly filled my pokedex. But i have been seeing fewer shinies since that point. How do i know if i have the shiny charm? Could i have lost it?? Or do you really have to complete the pokedex 100%?
Would this make the shiny hisuian arcanine illegitimate or legitimate? I have a shiny hisuian zorua and a shiny hisuian zoroark from breeding the great great grandchildren of the hackers hisuian zorua aswell, just a different pokemon.
Are you able to go online with them in your party? If so they might be viewed as legitimate now that zorua/ark is legal. Probably is going to depend on a case-by-case basis of how exactly the ancestor pokemon came to be
@@trailspokemon Well I got it from a person in a live stream. If I can use it online I will update you. Edit: tested everything out. Both the shiny hisuian zorua and zoroark can be put in trades, put in raids and have online functions work while in my party.

i think its funny that you do the same thing as me while waiting around trying to hatch eggs and go look for random shinies ( like you did with iron valiant ) masuda method sucks so much in this i miss the daycare system tbh
If you haven't saved, you can run and the Pokémon will still be there. Drop a save and then use the Heavy Ball. Reload and eat the cost of the sandwich (pun intended). Also, was that 5 full odds shinies?!?
So you think you are over odds for a certain Pokémon. I have had one shiny hoppip from the black and white hoards. I have had 1 shiny since I started playing with red on the original game boy.
I enjoy Masudaing in this game if only because I do one sandwich total to get the eggs, and then passively hatch them while I do other things (isolated encounters, mass outbreaks)
Took me 600 eggs to hatch a shiny froakie in Scarlet and found 4 shinies in that time. That wouldn't even bother me as much as not being able to mass release the duds.
10:20 trust me I lag and crash so often on the Eshop version of violet near water so often that I have to avoid water entirely. its not even funny at this point. I even lost a shiny Dondozo because of it.
I am currently in the midst of my most memorable shiny hunt. I began soft resetting for an Arceus in BDSP back in April of 2022. It's been off and on ever since and I'm probably closing in on 10x odds.
this is why I save, get my eggs, hatch, and if I don't get a shiny, I just reset. no more having to individually release a shit ton of babies when you're done or to make more room, just poof them out of existence AND save money on egg power sandos lol GOD do I need a fennekin right tf now tho...

I love how much rowlet seems to be on your channel. I am absolutely in love with rowlet, after all. It's my favourite starter of all time.
I was watching this video with my rowlet named TrailsPokemn, and I forgot I was playing legends Arcius, I jumped off a small cliff
I was at this point 4:49
Quality video, better than some tubers with 20x your subscriber count. Keep it up, earned my sub!
Great video, idk how you made a masuda hunt so long and entertaining, but you did.
"My dad... works at Nintendo"
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I could just imagine a 12 year old saying that to an 8 year old on a playground
When you found that shiny Lokix it reminded me of when I saw a Lokix in area zero that probably noclipped into the backrooms lol 😂
“Let’s see if we can hit 1000” i just saw you’re almost to 3000! Congrats I hope your channel has continued success in the future!
I've only have 1
@@Band36Alt dang which one
BRO YOU HIT 1000!!! CONGRATULATIONS MY GUY IM SO PROUD OF YOU
Love your voice and style, definitely subscribing!
This man is shiny hunting with talonflame with flame body... this man is a menace to society
Bro had 32 subs like a week ago, good job!
Yeah really though, if you're gonna do the Masuda Method you MIGHT AS WELL use 5/6IV parents while you're at it, I totally agree xDD
Masuda method does not require a lot of thought, hatching eggs can be done almost afk. It is necessary for shiny starters but is also excellent for Pokémon that are really hard to spot or shiny hunt normally.
That's what I'm doing for finizen and characdet..
I spent 3 weeks hunting for shiny Froakie. I know your pain.
I got a shiny Fennekin via the co-op picnic method! Congrats on the Hisuian Arcanine!
I got 3 shiny Froakies weeks before the Greninja Tera Raid
Can you tell me where you got the Fennekin? I’m actually trying to look for one so I can shiny hung it early!
@Diantha LastName It's not by "legal" means, that's for certain. You have to know someone with early access to them then join a Union Circle picnic with them and only bring a Ditto. Wait by the basket and collect your egg and it'll hatch into your desired Pokémon
@@LatinGiudo817 I know lmfao, but I still wanna try it just for funsies yknow?
congrats on the shinies, the success of the video and hitting 1k! 2k inbound!!
2.14k subs 4 days later, seems like the hard work is paying off. Great vid, keep it up
I feel the pain of this hunt.
Oh god do I feel that...
Lemme put this way, I spent about... two weeks? Masuda Hunting Veluza before Home Compatability dropped because oh hell no I'm not dealing with the Wild ones, far far over odds before I got it, and then in the middle of a Dondozo outbreak... one is just... there.... *sigh*
Oh and then theres a couple of other Masuda projects I still need to finish, and I sure as hell aint doing another Veluza.
You have bizarrely good luck finding full odd shines
Let's see if we can hit 1000, congrats you got to 2k within the first week of the video
Masuda shiny hunting is the true test of determination
Bro this dude is insane at spotting shinies ,how did he see those
i think you hit that 1k subs goal! i subbed as well ^^, very fun content!
I love that you gave it the tera type it hached on at the end, i was thunking about that for some reason and then it happened
My guy its been 4 days and your at 2k. I think we smashed your goal there.
This pokemon adventure is just starting
I honestly prefer the egg breeding in this game by a lot. Instead of running around and having to go back and forth to the day care you can just load up on eggs and either tape the controller to go in a circle or jump into the west paldian sea and just swim north until you run out of space, all the while swapping eggs every 5 hatched
You can do a similar thing in other games, you can just load up on eggs and come back to the daycare for more after hatching quite a few..you don't really have to stay near the daycare
It would be depressing if it was locked XD
5 days later ur over 2k subs congrats my man!!!
Walking hack! (use a Joycon with drift) 😂
You get a sub my dude. 🤘 Keep up the hunt!
Yo bro the second you found the shiny iron valiant I found a shiny cufant
I love this game's masuda method. I've hatched shiny Quaquaval, Greninja (twice cuz someone requested me for one), Cinderace, Charizard and Blaze breed Tauros and luckily I got 2. Best way to hatch is turn off autosave, save before make picnic, gather few eggs (I usually go till fill box) and hatch away, if no shiny reset and try again. This just makes it less tedious to release eggs
this was so fun! i'd love to do this hunt for cyndaquil
Pm me, and I can help you with your goal. =)
Would you like a cyndaquil to start your hunt? lol A pal set me up with one so I can join your world and host a picnic. >.>
@@AbyssalRenegade I would love this!!!!
@@benpost7822 Are you available now?
@@AbyssalRenegade yes
Iron Valiant has such A CLEAN Shiny... I used one on A Champion team!
Wait until the games decide to add in said "forbidden" pokemon that is if they decide to, with the intro of the decidueye event Rowlet are now accessable through trades naturally XD
"The masuda method is bad because I have TH-camr luck"
Bro. I have never once seen an unscripted shiny pokemon across the 8 gens I've played. :I
If you've played more than 30 hours of s/v and not found a random shiny, I'm genuinely shocked
@@trailspokemon i beated the game then found a shiny murkrow while trying to outbreak hunt :(
Strategy I've done to avoid overbreeding is to save before picnicing, make the sandwich, breed, hatch them and then reset. It's more manageable to just do 30-ish or so eggs at a time.
Dude, the jokes in this video are top notch 😂😂😂
Bro uses light mode on his switch, giga chad moment
When you know the title is clickbait but can’t help but click
NAH! When you were talking about how laggy the violet cartridge is my computer crashed and I thought for a second that you were joking with me.
my mans said let hit 1k before next video. has almost 5k now
hell yeah
10:03 I thought this was a shiny slowpoke lmao
How did I just randomly encounter a shiny Lokix after watching this lmao
I am terrible at getting shinies. I am new to Pokémon (played Blue when i was young, then Arceus and now Scarlet). I googled a lot of stuff but i rarely see shinies.
I did randomly find 2 scream tail shinies, but i thought i got the shiny charm when i mostly filled my pokedex. But i have been seeing fewer shinies since that point.
How do i know if i have the shiny charm? Could i have lost it?? Or do you really have to complete the pokedex 100%?
Complete the pokedex 100%, then talk to professor Jacq
I spent 1400 eggs on a Fuecoco and still haven't found it.
I feel your pain.
This is my first egg shiny, and with all of the hunts combined, this was about egg 1560
7:08. LOL.
YOY DOUBLED IN SUBS IN 2 DAYS,BRO CONGRATS 👏
That's what I love about these pokemon they're shiny is hard to get but once you get it you feel amazing
I can’t wait for Pokémon home to come out for scarlet and violet. I have a shiny hoopa that’s been sitting there for ages since he hasn’t been in any of the prior Pokémon games on switch
Mass release would make breeding infinitely better.
Why did PLA have it, but SV didn't? 😔😔
This is awesome!!! I’m so jelly! Would you be open to hosting an event for us to get some of these Pokémon?
3 months and you got 36k subs? Oh if only I was that lucky
Oh nah your underated as hell ima leave a sub
i think its funny that you do the same thing as me while waiting around trying to hatch eggs and go look for random shinies ( like you did with iron valiant ) masuda method sucks so much in this i miss the daycare system tbh
If you haven't saved, you can run and the Pokémon will still be there. Drop a save and then use the Heavy Ball. Reload and eat the cost of the sandwich (pun intended).
Also, was that 5 full odds shinies?!?
Do you do union rooms for trainers like me who wants those pokemon early too in game ?
That's how I got mine. Got the Kalos starters, PLA starters, and Hisuian Zoroark. Replaced Greninja and H-Zoroark once they became officially released
@@LatinGiudo817 do you organize those union rooms so others can get the pokemon early like you have ? I really looking who can do that for me
I’m just glad my 4k hours in ARK SE will come n handy
Quick question will you be able to transfer the shiny hisuian arcanine to pokemon home so you can use it in later games?
Most likely yes, but no one knows for sure until home actually comes out
Buddy
breeding in Pokemon Scarlett and Violet is much more easier and way enjoyable and quicker than any other old games.
This must be a sign because I have shiny hunted all the hisuiam forms except Growlithe. Now I'm very motivated to do it
It’s funny because rowlet is coming to raids now
So you think you are over odds for a certain Pokémon. I have had one shiny hoppip from the black and white hoards. I have had 1 shiny since I started playing with red on the original game boy.
I’m exponentially over odds
I enjoy Masudaing in this game if only because I do one sandwich total to get the eggs, and then passively hatch them while I do other things (isolated encounters, mass outbreaks)
Your voice is so satisfying, I LOVE it.
"Might have to hatch 50 eggs more"
Me with my 110 eggs after hatching my shiny early: 💀
Took me 600 eggs to hatch a shiny froakie in Scarlet and found 4 shinies in that time. That wouldn't even bother me as much as not being able to mass release the duds.
10:20 trust me I lag and crash so often on the Eshop version of violet near water so often that I have to avoid water entirely. its not even funny at this point. I even lost a shiny Dondozo because of it.
Also, you can bigbrain two foreign dittos and your breeding target to get eggs faster.
I am currently in the midst of my most memorable shiny hunt. I began soft resetting for an Arceus in BDSP back in April of 2022. It's been off and on ever since and I'm probably closing in on 10x odds.
OH my gosh you forgot the normal person
Are you able to trade me a rowlet early? Or union circle breed?
Are rowlet, growlithe etc able to be surprise traded or do you have to get them from the union circle?
It has to be a union circle. If you try to do anything online with them currently, even a tera raid, you'll get an error for having an illegal pokemon
I seriously though they were lock since i hatched 400 eggs for rowlet and no shinys jajaja but seeing ur video give me hope jajajaaj
I was questioning that the entire time 😔😔 It exists don't worry
Pssst Gallade wears a diaper.
I love fennekin the fox is my favorite Jesus so freaking cute how can you don't fall in love with
this is why I save, get my eggs, hatch, and if I don't get a shiny, I just reset. no more having to individually release a shit ton of babies when you're done or to make more room, just poof them out of existence AND save money on egg power sandos lol GOD do I need a fennekin right tf now tho...
