    This is my favorite documentary of all time; it has the best information on chickens, and their origins that I’ve found this far!

    After the pandemic...where we starved in a concrete city....we moved to a rural area, bought chicks, and planted a garden. Never again. We forage and can. Not counting on "the system" again. If you buy a chicken, you have food tomorrow...and tomorrow's tomorrow. A good investment.

    Watching the chickens fight in slow motion is crazy. The dodging and attacks is reminds me of boxing

    Adding another feeder and having feed out more often would reduce the bullying of Wiggy. There's no need for her to look and be treated so poorly, even without a roo.

      You are perfectly correct! Giving them feed in different parts of the chicken yard is a good solution. I have two roosters, and nor them, nor the chickens are looking like that. When a chick looks like that, it is a clear sign that she has to be isolated from the rest so she can recover.

    i think Philippians had more deeper tradition in terms of cock fighting than Thailand. Although it is more brutal than Thailand but the culture lives majority in every provinces.

    5 continents? Which continent besides Antarctica doesn't have chickens? Scratched my head about that one! The rest was sublime

    If any animals can make a choice, they would never want this kind of success!

    Jesus, the hens in NYC, if a hen is being picked on so much she can't access food and is losing feather, ADD ANOTHER FEEDER OR TWO, it's not rocket science. Poor hens.

    • @auxphoenix
      @auxphoenix 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      no, chickens at the bottom of the pecking order lose feathers from being pecked by the other chickens higher up, it's not from malnourishment

    • @evieblessed
      @evieblessed 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      @@auxphoenix , irrelevant. If she's losing feathers because she's being pecked then she doesn't have enough space to escape and cannot easily access food. Hens can lose feathers for a variety of reasons - malnourishment, moulting, mites, lice, stress or, as you say, being targeted heavily by the other hens. Whatever the cause, it needs to be addressed, that's good animal husbandry. I've been keeping hens for well over 25 years and in the veterinary industry since the 80s.

    To me the most beautiful chickens are the American gamefowl wishing the breed there’s is lines and their color and plumage is unbelievable.peruvian and Spanish are also good looking birds

    I am curious as to how the Brooklands rooftop garden ended up having a weed problem, especially grass. They had every opportunity to keep it weed free from the start. Any rare weed arrival by wind should have been jumped on and prevented from seeding.

      sadly people are not that smart. Especially professors and whatnot. WE have devolved. Birds are descended from dinosaurs. They are smart and if given the brain power wd have would make good use of it.

    • @ThirstyBacon

      also the grass might have be on purpose since they love it and it has lots of bugs. thats probably the only reason the little grey hen is still alive.

    my gosh that hen or rooster at 19:48 had me rollin. If pink was a chicken she would be that chicken. Anyone know the breed? I would love to add at least 4 to my flock. They are just impeccable.

    I'm no expert but I'm guessing jungle cockerells have shorter crows so they don't alert predators. Domesticated cocks don't need to worry about predators as much 🤔🤷‍♂🙂

    I'm watching this WITH my chickens. These spoilt creatures prefer air conditioning and fleecy blankets. See, THIS is where you came from! Oh, great....one of them just crowed. 😟 Another one down. See, this is WHY sex links were created. Mine are all heritage breeds, so.......spin the wheel of gender......
