    I live in this area and in the Winter of 2010 when I was walking my dogs over the Scotscraig estate (about 3 miles as the crow flies from the 5 roads roundabout) and saw footprints in the snow that had crossed a minor country road we were walking up. I did take a photo on my phone and must look it out. It was really cold (-12 Deg), bright blue skies and the snow was thick. I found it odd at the time but didn't think anymore of it. My dogs didnt behave any differently when we saw the prints and we continued our walk. Due to the low temperature it's possible that they were made a couple of days before.The area South of the Tay bridge is very rural and has plenty woodland. Tentsmuir forest covers a large area and is close by. Plenty of other woods and dead ground are linked up and could provide cover.

    It's the sudden silence in a wood which is very unnerving as it is so jarring when it happens. We have a wood near us which can be deadly silent even in the middle of the day in Summer - it is a broad leaved woodland which should be alive with twittering birds but even crows seem to give it a wide berth when they are flying over, noticeably veering off when they get close and there is no real reason why it should be such a strange place as the biodiversity of similar woods near this one is really good and they are packed with animals and sounds of nature.
    Never seen anything strange in there but when you go into it it's like stepping through an invisible barrier where sounds seem to stop then resume again when you leave the area.

      Id trust those crows, I wonder if its something the area puts out that puts them off. Id love to dowse it or get an emf in there and check the energy levels. There are places like that world wide I think, animals avoid them and even we can pick up on the 'off' energy.

      @@deborahhatswellbbr I can use cut hazel for dowsing water quite successfully but I'm guessing you're talking more crystal dowsing? I've never tried that but as there is no electric cables or houses / mobile towers nearby to that quiet wood I'd say that the EMF should be very quiet. If there was any results there it would be very surprising and very interesting. I don't have an EMF meter and wouldn't know where to start with that.
      What I do have is a couple of large carrion crows here which act as guardians for our property as they chase the local heron away from the pond - although they're hardly ravens I feel like Odin with those crows following me about, lol
      Our energy here must be good.

      I think the River Tay may be the answer, when you look along its route there are report after report. On of the oldest report in the UK is from 360 BC and that is between Stirling and Weem. Its the land of giants and they used to say. Im not surprised it is a magical and ancient land.

    Thanks Deb, thoroughly enjoyed these accounts. Scotland has ideal territory for these creatures to be inhabiting. I used to live in the Highlands near forestry commission land and found the woodland pretty spooky and quiet, so can really imagine the feeling of seeing these bigfoot creatures, must be breath taking!

      I have heard from Isabella and she has sadly had to leave the cottage behind, I have however asked a couple of people i trust if they would look at possible routes may a mile or two away, as the landowner has cut every tree and bush down, the orchard has gone, and the fence is back up higher than ever, so I think they would change their route and skirt that land to get to the Tay and back. Fingers crossed we can pick up on some signs. I will be giving people a complete explanation as soon as I have Isabella's permission to share.

      I can think of about 10 researchers here who have reported the same thing, I have a google album full of them if you fancy a nosey. Culbin in Scotland has deer legs hung in the trees every year on the same month. always male deer never doe's?

    I think this format works well. As to the one chuckin branches...Probably somewhat annoyed at the tree felling.

    • @deborahhatswellbbr
      @deborahhatswellbbr  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wondered if the couple had parked right on its usual route. I remember when they logged at Culbin all the sign stopped for 18 month, every animal and bird had to find other habitat. I visited Griffon forest last year, the loggers had left mess everywhere, rubbish and diesel all over the forest floor, it was bloody heartbreaking.

    • @ianrichardson3968
      @ianrichardson3968 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Deborah. Yeah it could be that,i sometimes think, especially in the U.S., the fact there's more sightings is partly down to Humans building towns, roads etc in forested areas.
      Like many animals they seem to move around so they'd probably have routes they take from one area to another. If they suddenly find something in the way then you'd think they'd just skirt around rather than going miles out of their way. It may be hunting/gathering areas they use when they're in those areas. Or migration routes if they're using different areas in summer and winter.Or any number of reasons. Much like we would do living in the wild, or just going to the shops you usually go the same route. Or your favourite hiking trail , campsite or berry picking places ( possibly the same places they use).
      In this case it could be they parked in the wrong place at the wrong time and they were in the way. it might be because they've parked too close to a group.
      And as you say loggers flatten large areas of trees which may have been somewhere they were frequenting, and of course as you say they left a mess, so the Bigboys would be just as annoyed. We think because someone "owns" the land and the trees we can do as we like with it, but this is the same situation when whites started taking over the land in America because the Indians didn't have a piece of paper saying it was theirs. We can't expect the big boys to understand that and think oh, well that's ok then. Because really the planet doesn't "belong" to any one any specific species, it belongs to is all.

    • @deborahhatswellbbr
      @deborahhatswellbbr  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      100% agreed. I saw ripped down fences on my last visit to Scotland, something had pulled them from the ground complete with concrete footings. I would imagine some of the routes are as old as time. I did look at our early foraging routes in the NW and it bore a striking resemblance to the sightings on the map. They may still be using the old routes and mental maps?

    • @ianrichardson3968
      @ianrichardson3968 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd say so myself. It's the usual scenario really, animals use routes to and from one area or place to another and have done for a long time. Then pesky Humans come along and start changing everything, clearing trees, building things, putting in roads etc etc. If you go to the shopping precinct and find someone digging up a road on your usual route, what do you do? You get annoyed because now you have to go a different way..and usually a longer way round..and back home again. Until they've finished what they're doing. And it'll cause you problems. What would we do if someone came along and demolished our houses and shops etc to do what they wanted? I think we'd react the same way. Wedo when some developer wants to build on your local beauty spot, or an ancient site for instance.

    It seems very funny to me that so many just can't bring themselves to call the woods people people. The preference for "animal" or "creature" just seems to pop out, as though they feel guilty or degraded by the thought that they/we are not the only Homo.

    • @deborahhatswellbbr
      @deborahhatswellbbr  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Humans have a short memory and a shorter knowledge base these days, it wasn't too long ago, we lived naked and dirt covered. Dirt plays a huge part in your diet also. Tribes the world over lived as the forest folk did, they are more intune with this planet than we are imo. People struggle to call them human, but i think they are the same as us, or us as we should of been.

      There is a gentleman in the comments who found a print in snow in the same area? I wondered the same as you, are 'they' exposing themselves at times on purpose? If they had stayed in the tree line and just waited no sighting would happen. Yet time after time people world wide catch them crossing from one wood to another. Or maybe they just dont care that we notice? Its the same with the growling accounts, if the 'creature' in question reveals its position by growling, when stay quiet would not reveal where they are.
