Hertz’s timing in the market is unfortunate. The new program gave the stock a shot in the arm at the time. The steep drop in prices hurt equity for all early adopters unfortunately, but it is great for buyers now. Note Hertz is selling 20K EVs that are mostly 2 years old and high mileage. They do that with their entire fleet, not just EVs. The difference is that the cars have depreciated more than ice cars because of the one time market correction. However Hertz I think has learned. They started with just the card key but now have an app. They need their own chargers so customers don’t have to find a charger before returning.
Also they should be marketed to current owners who can load their own profile in the app and they are good to go. Many fewer accidents.
