It's amazing that this parody has better writing and more awesome lines than most action movies nowadays.
Sometimes it's actually nice to let the funny/badass one liners and banter happen without going out of your way to justify it. Too many shows and movies seem afraid of letting dialogue like this happen because it's not "realistic" or whatever.
Edit: Also probably because studios are trying to cut as many costs as (in)humanly possible and there are giving less writers even less time to actually WRITE.
Easily my favourite line of the episode.
"These parameters, are acceptable" is still one of my favorite lines
That line goes way harder than it has any right to. That should have been in the actual show.

Its good ngl, but for me Piccolo's "It[Kami] means God, now bow." takes the cake as the most badass one liner in the show.
The delivery of the "I am not a spectator" line will always be one of the best in the series for me.

So many cool moves we first see on this Island. Hellzone Grenade, Light Grenade, Android Barrier (we don't get a lot of CLEARLY defense focused moves in DB), AND Hell's Flash?
None of that compares to Rocket Punch of course, but C'MON
The worst sin is that we basically never see ANY of these moves again. They're seen so rarely and it makes me angry.
"Because b*tch, I drink people." is one of the greatest lines ever

Android 16 v Cell is probably one of the most underrated fights in all of DBZ. It's quick and to the point. 16 has some awesome techniques, and the animation is great. Love it!
yeah and 16 probably would have won if they had continued. Cell is still an organic being with limits and stamina, unlike 16 who also has the infinite stamina like 17 and 18
Next episode has one of the most badass moments in all of DBZA, and I can't wait to watch you guys react to it

Funny about you mentioning "feeling weird sitting on the sidelines" just when Roshi sits; in the original story, Roshi spends that moment lamenting the long-lost days when HE was considered the "Strongest Under the Heavens". In fact, I believe his original name, Muten Roshi, literally means "Invincible Master".
Yeah, it’s really quite a great moment that shows off just how helpless a lot of the old cast must feel.

Those are the official subtitles. The Canadian subtitles are a bit more joke laden.
@@sintanan469 they shouldn't be putting any jokes in the regular English ones tho, don't know why they did that. It even says at the start they need to be "kept clean"
@@stardmg Usually the only jokes you find in the English subtitles are small bracketed expressions like [Eep!].
Ok let me just say, this is why I love about Android 16. Not only because of the humor or the epic fight moments he had here, but the fact he is actually the heart and soul of these "Cyborg" twins. Without him, the twins would actually have become monsters, and Trunks future is proof of that. He may have been an Android...but he is the spirit of a human. ✌ 🐦

In the original 16 was actually basically a good guy who due to programming just wanted to off Goku. He fought Cell to protect 17 and 18 and keep Cell from becoming perfect because he knew he would destroy the world if he achieved perfection
Plus, he was a red ribbon creation and they wanted to rule, not destroy. So that probably plays a factor in his programming.
If you're SEMI-PERFECT... Wouldn't that mean you are still IMPERFECT? 🤔

I guess imperfect cell is like an actual imp. A weird, gross, devilish creature. Then semiperfect, he's almost full humanoid with a lot of that imp still there. Then later, he becomes a full humanoid character like the rest of the universe, but way stronger, better at fighting, plus all the abilities he could do.
Shoved him straight into the Cellussy.

Funny enough when I was a kid, it was this exact transformation that introduced me to DBZ.
A very…VERY disturbing way to introduce me to it, but at the same time, Cell was a very well done villain
The one liners are awesome. "It means God... Now bow."
And now 16s *WALK TOWARDS IT* and *These parameters... Are acceptable.* lines.
Man, I remember when it was up in the air what was gonna happen in the actual show...and then the next episode title preview at the end of the episode just straight up said "Goodbye, Number 17"

I believe in the original series that Android 16 falls in love with Earth and is a pacifist. He recognizes Cell is a threat to that so decides to fight him. But then again it's been like 20+ years since I've seen the original.

OH I always thought Picolo was yelling at Nail, but he was going to use special beam cannon and yell Nail Gun when he does it.
He didn't have time to use special beam cannon. Back in the episode where Vegeta killed android 19, Piccolo and Nail were coming up with attack names because Piccolo and Tien were making fun of Vegeta's Big Bang attack. The last one Nail came up with was Nail Gun, which Piccolo admitted was a good name. Here in this episode, it's insinuated that Piccolo had actually made a new attack and named it Nail Gun, but we'll never get to see it because Cell bodied him before he could do it. Plus, it's not cannon, so he never uses it afterwards. It's really just a funny call back to that earlier episode. In the show, I don't believe he actually had an attack to use, and he just stood there while Cell ended him.
I wonder if that would be like freeza's finger lasers, just yellow ki, and maybe a bit more of an area to pierce. (Comparing to light grenade)

Next episode is my favorite out of all of them - including the recent new ones
a couple fun facts: android 16 is the only real android from the 3. 16 is designed after gero's son that goku accidentally killed in dragonball when he raided the red ribbon army base. 16's real name is Gevo. last fun fact. my name is also Gevo. lol
These stretch of episodes are just back to back badass one-liners

Dude this is hilarious.... i've been watching these with you but man.... it is really fun.... these dialogues are the best in the world....DBZ abridged is fun but this episode in particular was crazy funny and cool

0:44 - this lets you know that Cell is clever as well as dangerous. He knew that Piccolo's power signature was at nearly full output, and there were no other power readings nearby. Conclusion = Piccolo is fighting at least one android.
And just like that, the coolest form of cell was lost.
Cell saga was definitely the super move arc. Buu saga was the transformation arc
Something curious about Cell and 16 in the budokai tenkaichi games, Cell in his imperfect and semi-perfect forms can absorb energy with his grab and in some cases get health back as well, the only exception are Androids that doesn't have any organic components like 16 and 19.

Dumb question why did no one use the evil containment wave on cell? Does it only work against namekians?
For one Cell obviously have to had known Evil Containment Wave anyways, and he wouldn’t be dumb enough to try to be caught in the move, combined with the fact that he would’ve had the speed to dodge it if someone tried it anyways.
Plus I’m sure at this point no one but Roshi knew the move.

This isn't on this channel specifically, but it's funny how everyone just passes over the fact this episode shows that 16 is much stronger than 17 or 18, especially when it's people who watch without having watched Z first (though it could be in discussion not seen here)
