- Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador on Monday (September 18) defended the presence of a Russian military unit in a weekend parade marking Mexico's independence day, following sharp criticism his country had given a platform to forces that invaded Ukraine.
Ukraine's ambassador to Mexico, opposition politicians and critical media blasted the decision to allow a Russian unit to participate on Saturday, but Lopez Obrador said Mexico had allowed any country to join in.

“They made a scandal out of a Russian contingent marching. It caught my attention because China also paraded and there wasn’t such a scandal. Everything was (focused on) Russia.”
“We invited all the governments with which Mexico has relationships with. We always do so.”
Lopez Obrador, a leftist, has sought to keep Mexico neutral in the war between Russia and Ukraine, at one point proposing peace talks.
Nonetheless, his government has backed some major U.N. resolutions criticizing Russia's role in the conflict.

The speech in reference to Russian troops was direct and simple "yes we had their troops marching.. interestingly enough we also had Chinese troops but no one said anything about that why? We simply invite all nations that we deal with to participate, we always do.

@@jessiemunoz1239 En realidad, quizá pronto no sea ya necesario, pues se están construyendo gigantescas fabricas Chinas en México, mas grandes que mi pueblo en varias ciudades, además esta el tren Maya ,el corredor transoceánico etc. de hecho, todas estas inversiones hicieron que el precio del dólar cayera de 26 pesos a 17 y a veces a 16 pesos.
