I feel both of them had trauma in the upbringing - Lucy's father died when she was very young and mother was not available, left to work elsewhere w/o her children. Desi lost all financial assets when he left Cuba as a teenager - but also, it felt like both his parents left a lot to be desired. Mother and Father were self-involved people. But Desi was always good to them. His mother lived 2 years longer than he did and he left money for her to be taken care of. Both Desi and Lucy cherished the family and did what as they could for them. They both worked hard, made the best of what they had; also loved their children and loved each other - just couldn't live together.
I remember 🎗️when Desi Mort. 😢💔☠️ My 😺 named Love was ill at the same time. I watched "I Love Lucy" daily, on KTTV channel 11 in Los Angeles, from a toddler on up. The revolution was in 59 I think , so he was able to keep his homeland possessions until he was past a success here in the states
