Rick is still in pain and can barely stand because of his fight with The Governor and when he was in the bathroom taking his shirt off he was examining the bruises on his torso rib and chest area hence why he’s wheezing and that scene when those 3 walkers are on top of Carl is a callback to Season 2 Episode 10 when Rick had 3 walkers on him.

I CANNOT EXPRESS HOW MUCH I LOVE THIS EPISODE!!!!! It is an AMAZING episode for Carl & his development. He has been through SO MUCH in just the span of the last year & a half.
    - His dad being shot
    - seeing the world fall apart around him & people torn apart
    - Rick coming back
    - losing Sophia
    - accidentally causing Dale’s death
    - Shane (basically his uncle/godfather) being killed by his dad then having to shoot him
    - having his mom die giving birth right in front of him & then having to KILL HER
    - seeing his dad lose his mind & make bad decisions getting people killed
    - deciding to kill that surrendering kid as a result of his dad’s failures
    - watching the prison fall & his dad fail
    - losing his baby sister to the walkers
    - now being all out in the world alone with his dad who he doesn’t believe is a capable leader anymore.
    - seeing his dad possibly die & turn right in front of him
It’s a MASSIVE amount of trauma for a 14/15 y/o and why I always have related to Carl the most & why he is my favorite character! We’re near the same age at the time this episode aired I’ve grown up alongside him ❤️

Pretty sure Carl is supposed to be about 12 at this point, it's just Chandler who's 14/15.

I reacted the same as Mom about the Governor, I was like "Double tap! Burn his body and scatter the ashes!" 😄
Loved finally getting to learn more about Michonne here, an indication of who her pet walkers had been and confirmation that she'd lost a child. And what a heck of a time to be hitting puberty. Of course Carl's going to be a petulant, passive-aggressive, bratty knowitall who overestimates his capabilities; he'll get cocky, he'll make bad decisions, and he'll blurt out horrible things that he doesn't really mean because his brain is just as chaotic as his body, but I was glad we got to see his state now. He's always been on the sidelines and this was a good opportunity for him to test his independence, express his own perspective, and to show us just how much and how fast he's had to grow up. In the end he'd gotten his frustrations out and learned that even though he could take care of himself to a point, he's not a grownup yet, and he does still care about his father.
Him seeing the games but realizing he couldn't play them was bittersweet to me, not only because it showed how he's had to skip over the rest of his childhood, but also because I can relate to having to involuntarily forgo something I used to enjoy.

Ladies, if I was there and you three showed up to fight the dead, I would say what Rick said. "You're one of us." I will not let you die and turn. I can't control them forever.

Fun Fact: the scene where Michonne takes out the small herd was improvised She was only supposed to take out a few because that’s what they had for the budget of the episode but the director never said cut so Danai (Michonne) Just kept going and unchoreographly took them all out It was so good that they kept it in
Also Danai Gurira (Michonne) had admitted that she keeps swords in the trunk of her car and it freaks people out when she gets her car cleaned lol.

This is not one of my favorite episodes, because I didn't like Carl's rebelliousness (I know it was his character development, tho) & Rick being so beat down that you wondered if he was going to survive,. But Michonne's backstory & her scene where she finds Rick & Carl was well worth it.

    Hello 👋
    Another awesome video, 👍👍
Every time I watch this episode I still do not understand why Carl did not quietly go up behind the 2 Walkers on the porch use one hand on the back of the ones neck pushing it into the wall while sticking a knife into the other’s head then dealing with the other instead of taking the chance he did, also when he opened the door to the attic stairwell where that Walker was, why did he not knock on the door then listen since he could see the door opened outward, ahh well at least it turned out well in the end, 👍😀👍
Have a safe and wonderful weekend, 👋😀👋

Comic Comparisons : The arc where Rick talks to Lori over the phone actually happens at this point in the comics after the prison battle because Lori’s death happens later in the comics than in the show Rick actually carries the phone with him.

At this point with all the multiverse crossover stories I wouldn't be surprised if the Governor was killed by Sokka's boomerang.

I took Carl saying he’d be fine if he died was meant as he could survive without him given the fact he doesn’t believe his dad was capable of protecting him anymore at that moment, not that he necessarily wanted him to die, but the end of the episode when Carl admits he was wrong is a MASSIVE turning point in. Carl’s character imo

Not my favorite episode. The only interesting part for me was Michonne's backstory.
