    It's funny that the announcer referred to him briefly as "Rambling" Ric. That was the original name that Ric wanted to use. "Rambling" Ric Rhodes (cuz he was a fan of Dusty) but Verne Gagne strongly suggested Ric Flair was a better heel name, and Ric reluctantly agreed. Crisis averted!

    Nick DeCarlo is victimized by tactics of verbal intimidation which played part in his loss to Ric Flair in this contest

    @mastermold2011 That's Rich Landrum. He did like to work that stuff in. I was a big fan of his interviewing style, he interacted with the wrestlers rather than just holding the mic. He was quite an announcer and was also the ring announcer for matches in Richmond, VA.

    LOL the announcer said flair was 6'1 275 lbs LOL flair definitely isn't 275 lbs not even close he looks more like 170-200 lbs Batista in WWE was 275 he looked 275 it's not impressive when you try to make a wrestler sound more impressive by saying 6'1 275 lbs his legs are toothpicks and his upper body is small definitely not 275lbs..

    He originally wanted to be portrayed as Dusty's younger brother, but as you posted, Verne Gagne suggested otherwise and the rest is history.

    Any matches of Ric Flair in the AWA on TH-cam when he was heavier with brown hair besides the match with Chris Taylor?

      The Prophet of Rage As I understand it, Verne had such a wealth of talent in and around 1973 that he really had no room for Flair on his roster. As a result, he sent Flair semi-regularly to work in the IWE in Japan, where he worked his first main events, including in cage matches. I would much rather see those matches, plus I would figure that they're much more likely to still exist.

    Here you see it folks this is the wiggly wham worm wiggle after effects. This man was beyond repair and in need of immediate psychotropic stimulants to get back to normal. @ 9:12

      Lfdjake91 I thought it was pina coladas that went along with getting caught in the rain. At least according to a song that was all over the radio that same year.

    Nick DeCarlo was a long time midcarder in Toronto's Maple Leaf Wrestling promotion, which MACW then had a co-promotional deal with. DeCarlo must have been brought down to NC for their TV.

    Ric should have been fined for assaulting the ref!

  • @libra42ful
    @libra42ful 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    8:10 to 9:30...Ric submitting DeCarlo in the fig-4 (while "jacking" with DeCarlos's foot and "edging" a bit tooooo far with it) and then roughly "enjoying" the excited, stimulating sensations AS he "finishes" by mounting DeCarlo in a choking schoolboy pin... STILL hyped up by the itchy-tingling spasms happening in his trunks, he starts to roughly shove the ref around, letting him know "back off buddy, I ain't DONE with him yet!!!" Then goes back to punishing DeCarlo to enjoy humiliating the loser some more, until the "itchin-tingles" start subsiding....I wonder if Ric has watched this in private?...on loop...

  • @libra42ful
    @libra42ful 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    4:13....look at DeCarlo smiling, foot on Ric's hand, and two fistfuls of Ric's hair and making him look at his bulge....DeCarlo was "feelin it" soooo good right there at that moment...
