Both of the reel can also be used without any problems, I think that advantageous reel is TWS mechanism for long casting distance.

I'm sorry but, haven't used HLC models ever.
If You cast heavier lure, TATULA HLC can be one of choice.... I'm not sure though.

However, the drag mechanism is also the protection device of the reel, modification is not recommended.
