  • Sorry this one is late! I know, I'm talking about Christmas trees but I'm sure that you have all disposed of them by now! The past couple of years we have been letting the wildlife enjoy the tree for a month or so before we shred it. It gives the tree extended use and I feel a bit better about my wife insisting that we get a real one every year.
I really love sitting in the garden or conservatory first thing with a brew and getting a glance of the visiting birds! It also allow me to think about the other not so frequent visitors. One year we camped in the garden and had a small firepit, it was so dark as the street lamps go off after a certain hour and my wife an I got to witness a silent low flying tawny owl, the warm glow of the fire lit up the underside of this owl you could almost feel the breeze as it glided over us, just wow! What an experience!
I used my Nikon D850 with the 200-500mm f5.6 lens which was the perfect setup. I also had the Sigma 120-300 f2.8 which I didn't get to use by the end of the day.
I don't know whether to do a video on make shift hides, is that too far away from my channels coverage? Let me know.
    Thanks for watching!

Glad it helped, I was in a flat for 7 years and the garden was a big change for me. Keep the feeders topped up and hopefully during migration you may see something new pass through. When I got the greater spotted wood pecker I was over the moon! What a treat! I'm in a town!

Thanks for the garden tips, very helpful. I tend to use very sturdy bags of metal containers for bird food stored in the garage as I've had a few plastic containers perish and fall apart. ATB MMMD

He sometimes sits in the hide with me, he likes to be where his people are.

Try wearing black clothing and gloves if your blinds inside walls are black.
