I am 69 years old. I began reading comic books when I was 3 or 4. Captain America was one of my favorites from a very early age. Despite everything, he stood for the best principles and values of America. I think that's what I, and many others, loved about him. It is disappointing to hear these comments from the man who has taken up the Captain America mantle, even if he is only an actor and Captain America is a fictious character. Ideas and principles and values still matter. So does patriotism -- if you're an old-school fan of the Cap like me.

Falcon could have become Captain America over time; like a character arc. Yeah; there was a TV show, and that's the problem. Taking the characters to the small screen was the mistake.
Falcon 1: Buckie has the Shield but can not shake the Winter Solder. Gives the shield to Falcon at the end. Falcon 2: Falcon teams up with Black Panther, eats the herb, and learns how to become Captain America but needs a final trail. Falcon 3: Using his new abilities faces the biggest trial and overcomes it to become Captain America.
Was never going to this movie, regardless of what one of their actors said. There is zero chance I will ever pay to see another Marvel or Disney production. Probably only 10% chance I would watch ANY movie now. There are better things to do for entertainment.

Anthony Mackey has always been a coat tail actor. Every successful movie he has been in, was successful because someone else was in it.
I'm Caribbean Black, legal immigrant to America and I respect and adore America as much as I love my home country of Jamaica. When AfrAms speak on this country with such vitriol and ignorance it makes me think they have no idea the privledge they have being born and raised in America. Is it the best country, maybe, but it is much much better than the Caribbean, Europe or most African & Middle-Eastern countries as far as how you can make money and move up social classes with ease and simple handwork.
I have not had any interest in seeing this movie, because I saw Falcon and Winter Soldier, and was already done being preached at my these morons. The movie is DOA. All Mackie did was further damage his image among the public. Up until this, I viewed Mackie as one of the few in Hollywood who seemed to have his head on straight. Now I see him as another Hollywood narcissist with his head up his own butt.

If he had read the comics, he’d know that Captain America stands for America as its concept/idea, and not America the government, AKA U.S.Agent. But who needs comics when you can just lazily say America bad, ethnic countries good?
Still, if he still wants to be a comic book superhero, he can always take a page from Steve’s book and become Nomad. And while you’re at it, you might as well put the Black Lives Matter logo on the shield.

How hard could it be to just make a straight up The falcon film and to not waste Hulk villains on a non-Hulk film?
Falcon could have become Captain America over time; like a character arc. Yeah; there was a TV show, and that's the problem. Taking the characters to the small screen was the mistake.
Falcon 1: Buckie has the Shield but can not shake the Winter Solder. Gives the shield to Falcon at the end.
Falcon 2: Falcon teams up with Black Panther, eats the herb, and learns how to become Captain America but needs a final trail.
Falcon 3: Using his new abilities faces the biggest trial and overcomes it to become Captain America.
It's called Birthright Captainship because he was born in the US.

I said they should give him a different name.
Then they made Falcon a already loved character into Captain America, and I said again they should call him by a different name.
Me personally I would have called them like this.
Bucky=American Agent
Falcon=American Falcon
As for Mackie you can wonder if he didn't do this on purpose.
But if he feels that way about America perhaps he's not the right person to play the character Falcon or Captain America.
Because one thing about both characters is they were very patriotic.
