Hi, Michael I got a question If I work with game developer what is the best way to integrate Wwise and Unity (Offline?) - If it fails will damage the unity project? -don't want to cause any problem to the developer. -And how's could we work at the same time if they constantly update code and I am also doing integrate
Wwise should be integrated at the beginning. I had students loose their work when they tried to integrate mid project and the integration failed. At the very least make sure you have backup.
Thanks for the great course. The only issue I had was that it is necessary to open Wwise once, accept the conditions and create the Audio Game 101 project. Only then can you integrate to the Unity project, everything works well. Hope this helps.
Hello! Just starting to watch this series of videos! I'm really excited for it. I am a Mac user though, do you think it's better to run Wwise in Parallels instead of Wine in MacOS? Would it be laggy too?
I understand this is 3 years later but I've had no luck with the Audiokinetics tutorial on first steps because the interface has changed so much from 2021.1 to 2024.1 I enjoyed your tutorial Michael but again, Under projects in audiokinetic launcher I can only launch my GameAudio101 in Wwise. Unity says the wrong project is open in Wwise. I followed every step but at 49:30 onward, I have no option to run the game in Unity. For that matter, under the Unityn tab, I don't have the Wwise adventure game source. I must have missed a step somewhere.
The source needs to be installed separately. There should be an option somewhere. Yes, this tutorial is three years old now. I’m actually surprised how many people are still able to follow the steps in these videos.
@@michaelgwagner I was tryng to get the audiokinetic tutorials with the cube game working half the day and the other half I've been watching this video. I get so far in the Cube game tutorial but the old/vs new Wwise interface makes it too difficult to carry on. i'll watch yours again tomorrow with a fresh mind and take my time. I'm convinced a missed a part where you installed the source seperately. Thank you so much Michael for responding. Very kind of you!

The project opens up but I get this warning in the Wwise Picker Tab: Connecting to ws://127.0.0.1:8080/waapi Connection refused.

Thanks Michael for these series of videos. I did the Wwise 101 course but most of it was reading instructions and then I watched a short video on that part - for some reason the video is slightly different to the instructions which was slightly off putting but overall it was OK. I do have a question though. In your video, at 50:22, your Wwise launcher is showing a 'Wwise adventure game source' icon but mine doesn't. It just shows the project file that we created from earlier. I have followed all your instructions and when I open up Unity and Wwise everything is looking exactly the same as yours. Does it matter that its not showing up?

Have I not installed something or is it a hidden feature? I definitely integrated Wwise into unity from the wwise launcher just like you and could see below it was showing wwise picker but it was definitely missing the tab. Any suggestions?
That tab is only used to access the scenes for the official Wwise courses. If you don’t have the Adventure Game Source installed, you would not see that tab. It is not needed under normal circumstances.

i want ask you about Audiokinetic Wwise i want Opus codec i cant find it if you go to their site u can find it on convert list same as vorbis and pcm but if you download whatever version there is no Opus they give you just three options pcm - adpcm - vorbis , is there way can i add it on wwise ??
Thanks Michael for the clear explanation! I encountered a problem when trying to integrate wwise into project.. I am using the same versions of both Unity and Wwise as this video, but when I try the integration, I ended up having an error about 'unable to find a Wwise command line...' Any idea how I can fix this? (I am doing this on a mac)
i followed these steps but still 1 week trying and i cant integrate wwise with unity. says some platforms are missing but modifying it fails. and it says failed to get unity version....ive been at this for daaaays no luck. uninstalled re-installed. im also unable to submit a ticket to audio kinetic also says failed to get unity version......nothing i do is making this work. anyone have same issues? this is on mac and windows
ahh i finally done it. it took several attempts. but just in case anyone else has the same thing, i had to create offline installer, making sure all the plugins were selected too. otherwise it would not work and give errors for whatever reason. Still it failed to recognise unity a few times, i uninstalled and installed unity 3 times i think, for some reason the 3rd time it worked! nothing else was different. but its now integrated...a whole week of trial and error went on this. hopefully i wont have to update again. i got almost 100gb of failed wwise downloads i can now delete. ok.....now, step 2 😅
Hi thank you for sharing this series. Everything seems so well explained! I have been following your steps for the installations and cannot get the game audio 101 project to integrate. When I select Integrate Wwise into Project I end up with an error stating an error occurred during the creation of the new Wwise project. I am running this all on a MBP m1 13 inch .. just curious do you have any ideas / suggestions? Also, curious do you do private lessons at all? Thank you again for sharing this content and your time!
M1 remains an issue as far as I know. Have you tried running everything under Rosetta? Unfortunately, I can’t do private lessons. This would be a conflict of interest with my day job.

When you install the Unity version through the Unity Hub, you cannot use the options given to you. You need to click on the "download archive" link in the sentence that starts with "Can't find the version you're looking for?..." This will bring you to a website listing all Unity versions. Click on 2019.X, go down to 2019.4.20 and click on the green "Unity Hub" button. This will bring you back to the Unity Hub and then install the correct version.
installing wwise has always given me so many issues. is the worst legit software to work with. Im currently installing newer version as my current one (much newer than this on in video) was not connectting to the unity project i made. loads of errors. 🤷♂

Unity does not need a lot of resources. A reasonably fast gaming PC should be sufficient.
Hi Michael. I’m having issues with wwise integration in the the button is greyed out. All the versions are correct. Any help?
Make sure that Wwise knows where Unity is installed.

There are some issues with M1 Macs afaik. If the automatic integration fails you can try a manual integration. Tgat usually solves the problem.
