im in trucking school right now..i know it SEEMS like a lot to remember but if u study this shit at least ONE hour EVERY DAY even on the weekends...u will be SURPRISED at how good u are with knowing what is what on an 18 wheeler...its not about having an awesome memory..its about your mind being exposed to the same information over and over and over again.......it becomes easier and easier and easier................try it
Even if you dont have a truck to reference? I'm headed to cdl school in a week or two, need to get this down.
@@ME-kr7sm I'm in a school now. If you're in a good school... they will explain, demonstrate, explain some more, and then... put you behind the wheel and let you practice, practice, practice. The trainers will not be your testers... so the trainers' reputation are on the line (very similar to a sports coach- they have to train their athletes to excel- that will be their "grade"... how well their students perform!)
You will do fine!!! Don't worry!!! I can tell by the tone of your comment, you want to succeed!!! You will... and you're doing the right thing... YouTubing it!!!
Thank you bro pretrip inspection next week wish me luck
@@xbgibxgib6952 i commented on this thread over a year ago ...I been passed my pretrip on the first try....from what I understand they already know your not going to name EVERY part on that truck ...they just want to see .....DID U AT LEAST STUDY??.......they can tell if someone didn't study AT ALL and still want a CDL.....that's all they want to know..did u at least study ...your going to be fine ..
@@percyastronautstatus.8780 thanks for the reply. not asking which state that was in
The most thorough pre trip I've ever seen on TH-cam
This Video changed my life, I'm officially class A commercial driver. Passed my skills today🙏
I passed my pre-trip inspection yesterday by watching your video... Thanks guys...
The best trailer inspection that I've seen. Very detailed and descriptive. The first instructor I've seen go under the trailer to go over parts. AWESOME THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
I've been driving 8 years, and it doesn't matter how many of these inspection videos I watch, I always glean some new tidbit of information.
Gr5orhvt pp ok
Most words that need to be remember are- secure mount, nut bold present tight, no crack, bend, abrasion, frayed, worn, leaking, dry rod, then the others left is location of each part.
Not damage crack or broken, no abrasions bulges or cuts not rip torn frayed or dry roted

J-Tech you are a Godsend! Thanx Man
AMAZING EXPLANATION OF WHAT WHY AND WHERE. I ENJOYED KNOWING WHAT THE PURPOSE WAS FOR AS MUCH AS LOCATION AND NAME. AMAZZZZING REALLY GOOD JOB
Nice video. My pre trip is different with yours, because I live in Delaware. I like the way you're explaining. GOOD JOB!.
This video was properly mounted and sercure
Very good instruction. Company owned trailers can be the most neglected things. Check everywhere for corrosion and cracks. Everytime you stop you should do a walk around. Listen for airleaks.
love your works mr Ricks
I went to that school got cdl there had to remember all that stuff and say it probably.

Amazing thinks
Make sure you touch all over your air lines. I was dinged for having abrasion that couldn't be seen by the naked eye, but felt if you touch it
great thanks
the best video
Was the oil good on trailer tires hub oil seal?
you forgot, on the header board, to check the registration for the trailer. And to make sure it matches the license plate on the trailer.
John Karmann there is another video for that, same person on this channel.
Didn't check pushrod stroke?
So the lights are clear?
The part of Trailer it’s completely deferent in California rules CDL , I need help - I payed 2000$ for a year because it very hard what should I do???
I am psyched out for my pre-trip exam tomorrow. When you are explaining everything to the tester it takes me 40-45 min. But in real life when I do a pre-trip it will take me 5-10. Doesn't make sense....
Erik Scherer how did you do on your pre trip I inspection last yeR
How do lights bend?
I would say that the DOT Tape is not 50% of the side of trailer.....
Always
💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
I could be wrong but that crank handle looked bent
Should the tires be the same brand and model to wear evenly?
Yeah and in this video the real trailer wheels are different ahaha
Torque arm, torsion arm, torsion bar, arm torsion... which one
Niiice
What kind of light is that at 4:34? Is that another clearance light?
marker, blinker, flasher, plus a reflector
❤
Please write the name on the phone screen
👍
maybe i missed it, didn’t hear mention of brake drums & brake pads
He did around 6:30
Alot of these answers are not on cdl pre trip He is going through every nook and cranny
you say there needs to be 50% dot sticker on the side of trailer but there is 100%
That's the minimum requirement.
tht is hard
