You'll have to make one mod, which the app did not allow me to depict: Under the spinner add the 2nd double-balcony on top of the 1st, rotated counterclockwise 120 degrees, use a half height tile on top of that instead of a full height tile, and attach a cross tile and a right-curving short bernoulli rail as shown in the video.

I just got that set for Christmas! I agree with you, the pieces are amazing with way more than the normal starter set I already have. The only thing I don’t like is that it is very hard to assemble the pieces

It's a very good set for the person who wants to enjoy almost every elements (except carousel) of gravitrax pro series.
The only drawback is that this set merely includes 4 balconies and 2 medium walls, while pro starter set provides 16 balconies and 2L, 2M, 1S walls.
Thus, if you interested in building vertical tracks with walls and balconies, the pro starter set could be a better option than extreme set.
Otherwise, 'pro extension: vertical' could supply walls and balconies.
Yes, the Vertical starter has more pillars, walls, and balconies. But its tradeoff is it has 4 baseplates instead of 6, 1 large layer instead of 2, 0 small layers instead of 2, 20 height tiles instead of 56, 9 half height tiles instead of 12, 9 short rails instead of 15, 28 curve tiles instead of 35, 4 cross tiles instead of 5, 0 special curve tiles instead of 4, a aunch pad instead of spinner, and 0 PRO elements instead of 4.
So with the Vertical PRO it's difficult to build much beyond the walls with only 20 height tiles. You'll note that my build at the end of the video used almost all 56 height tiles from the Extreme Starter Set. Fortunately I have enough CORE starter sets that I don't have to worry about that. But for someone who is first starting with GraviTrax, it is good to start with a CORE set, then add on with a Vertical PRO set.
Yes. I totally agree with you. I don't prefer to build tracks with walls and balconies, so this set was extremely good supply to my previous core starter set, literally.

Would thisbe a goodcset to start for a 9year old? Happen to find a great cyber Monday deal on this making it the same price as the Core starter set (and Power starter set on sale) but not sure if it would be too complex?
If the 9 yr old has good dexterity, it will be fine. The only difficult part of the PRO sets is squeezing the clip on the balconies to insert or remove them from the walls. I usually recommend them for ages 10 and up, but it really depends on the kid.
