Boat isn't anything but a house for the engines with a few seats. Man if it ain't beautiful though. Props to the designers & builders. They are true artists
I live on a lake in Alabama. About eight years ago, a 40+ roadster came through here. It made about ten runs back and fourth in a five mile loop. Faster each time. I took a video of it and went looking in my powerboat magazines and found the boat listed in the classifieds. It was a 2008 Nor Tech 40 something roadster with twin 1350s with the trailer going for $525K. I was watching Talladega on TV, in high volume stereo, when I heard those engines coming into our basin of the lake. It was awesome! Way too big for our lake during the season, but he was just getting used to it after he bought it. He took it somewhere else, and I haven't seen it, or anything like it, since. Nor Tech makes gorgeous boats that are incredibly fast! A guy has to have dreams...
He probly took it to LOTO or back to South Florida. LOTO has a VERY LONG lake. I love Nortech too their huge Vs and cats are almost unmatched for power and safety features. My fav Nortech boat would be an all white 50' cat with a racing canopy and quad Merc 1350/1550s with Arneson drives. I saw a white 50' cat with M&Ms all over it in the Ft.Myers, Florida dry pits. It was the biggest cat in the pits I was gobsmacked!!
The idle out is like hearing four promods start up at Las Vegas. Four thirsty monsters ready to put in work. While I approve I’m perplexed. It’s like a double edge sword, do I invest in four mountain motors knowing the maintenance is times 4, or a pair of turbines to save weight knowing I’ll have to go to an airport to service them. I’ll never have that problem but I still approve either way. Like others thanks for not covering up the engines with music.
Turn of the 20th Century Billionaire John Pierpont Morgans famous saying has haunted me all my life, "If you have to ask how much it cost, you can't afford it". Magnificent boat.
Hello sir; I have seeing and watching videos, no like this one, such slow natural video, I can absolve the greatest intelligent dedication of this video. you are one of the few proud that I can see what's going on in your videos with a highest speed boat. Again, thanks for your videos, and continue to influence folks in the internet about this beautiful boat.... really nice...God Bless you, what ever place you go, again thanks. Respectfully; Andy
The first thing most people would say is'OMG! I can't afford the gas'! Actually the fuel cost is the cheapest part of owning that boat! I can't afford the dockage -storage or the big truck to tow that boat over land! Upkeep and insurance? Not! Oh and the price? One point six million $$!!
Sooooo.......4 HUGE V8's in this boat?!? Really? Holy crap, that's alot of power. For those of you who unfamiliar with these engines, I believe that they displace approx. 555 cubic inches or 9 L. Huge even by automotive standards. Mercury has been at the head of the game for as long as I can remember. When the 300 HP Black Maxx outboards first came out, they were the goto engine for ski boats all over Canada. I've captained a couple dual engine cigarette boats but never with FOUR ***4***. 2 was way faster than anyone needs to go.lmao 4 Turbo boosted, 1350 hp engines scares the crap out of me, in a manly short of way!!!lmao😂👍👍🙏🙏🙏
Relatively simple math of approximately .5 pounds of gasoline per hour per horsepower, depending on exact efficiency of engine (technical term is brake specific fuel consumption) so 1350hp x .5 pounds = 675 pounds of gasoline at 6.25 pounds per gallon giving around 108 gallons per hour per engine. 108 x 4 = 432 gallons +/- probably 10-15%. Another commenter said the math is about 1 gallon in 7 seconds which is closer to 514 gallons but turbo engines tend to be relatively efficient because they use their own heat as a power adder, compared to a supercharged engine which (at this hp level) would take over 100 hp just to turn the blower at top speed, lowering the net efficiency of the engine so the 430-460 gallon per hour range is possible. However, if you can afford 430-450 gallons per hour, you can afford 515 so it's not a big deal and if you can't afford 515, then you also cannot afford 430. It's more of an issue in the boat's range as a 600 gallon capacity could be 75 minutes of running or 85 minutes of running, a difference of about 25 miles at 150 mph--which could mean making it to the next island or needing a tow or more likely losing bragging rights when you reach the dock. The bigger assumption is that you could run flat out for an hour which is unlikely in most scenarios since that would need to be around 150 miles in a straight line with the right water conditions--and that your own body and brain could manage that much absolute attention and beating for 60 minutes. Even on smooth water (150 miles of it?) the attention required to pilot that boat a WOT in the neighborhood of 150 mph is very high.
I got to see a nor tech catamaran with 4 mercury 450Rs. That’s impressive by itself but this shit is beyond insane. I wonder what the fuel consumption is on a boat like that
Over three minute of a boat with quad 1350s and not a single shot of the engine well. I mean, it’s a beautiful boat, and obviously a beast, but.... It’s in the freaking title of the video.
@@BeyondPerformancePowerboats Kind of a little bit completely different. Seriously? I’ve been to dozens of poker runs. What do we see at the docks? Over a million bucks in engines and 4 tons in weight

Cool boat but would rather see one of those engines in a 22ft Stoker Tunnel at full throttle. Not in a big heavy tank.
A "big heavy tank" has the advantage of not taking flight when it hits a ripple from a fish swimming nearby
race2race1 That “big heavy tank” will outrun your 22’ Stoker like it’s tied to a tree.
