I remember seeing this a few times in the late 1950s as a small child on TV. TV was all black and white back then and you just watched whatever the heck they decided to run. A lot of the cartoons, in retrospect, were pretty “pre-code” in content. (I remember in another one wondering why the ladies were taking off their clothes while they were dancing.) This one really scared me, especially the concertina monster and the pelican’s evil laugh and it getting turned into a parachute. Amazed how well I remembered it. 60 years later it seems even creepier now. The pig lady’s big bare butt and the goats about to make out on the dead bodies of their defeated foes.
Well, this cartoon was originally produced in a process called Multicolor, and was one of the first produced color cartoons. However, that version seems to have been lost.
Very nice although I'm more partial to the East Coast N.Y. style cartoons of the Fleischers myself from that same era, Still this was really interesting.
Josie Valerie and melody:♪the three little kittens had lost their mittens♪and they began to cry♪oh, mother dear we sadly fear♪our mittens we have lost♪ zeta:♪what? lost your mittens you naughty kittens♪then you shall have no pie♪ Josie Valerie and melody:meow meow meow meow! audience:👏

1948 "home movie" reissue.
no it wasn't.
There was a color section even in Phantom of the Opera from like the mid 20's but i don't think even that was the first color film.
Yay, Jubalio.
god, this was a terrible way to rip off disney.
Isn't Disney himself ripped off Felix the Cat and create Oswald then Mickey?🤔
Everyone was ripping off eachother back in the 20s and 30s including Disney himself
