Just to give you some insight. That is the Souix Ordinance Depot. It was used for ammunition storage and later became Western Nebraska Technical College that was merged with Western Nebraska Community College from Scottsbluff NE. They closed the school down. Rob Van Vleet Sr. was the owner of Convert-A-Ball trailer hitches. I used to know and work for Rob years ago.
Btw I wonder if the 1978 yellow Ford club cab still has the 572 Cadillac engine in it lol.

There was a navy ordnance depot at Hastings, the bunkers are being used for businesses and housing. I think Grand Island had a munitions plant, too. Both cities had rail service by both the CB&Q (now bnsf) and union Pacific railroads.

I had no idea Nebraska had so many ducks.
Tons of small ponds up in the sandhills, little over an hour from Sidney. Big lake on the North Platte at Ogallala, too.

That Rb van Vleet really honored his family name because in Dutch ( Rob van Vleet is a 100% Dutch name) " to have something by the vleet" means that you have a lot of it. So, Rob van Vleet has got cars by the vleet. The double ee is pronunced like in: ate

Those bunkers are actually a community; the only one in the world. A documentary was just on a couple days ago about it.

@@granthoule7418 he’s young and has access to money and has that almighty high attitude. He needs lessons on how to deal and negotiate with us older codgers and many have a ton more money than this kid does but you’d never know it. They aren’t impressed with the younger crowds that wanna brag about what all they have and how much money is in their pocket.
The number one rule to a successful negotiation with older, rich codgers that don’t look like they can pay their power bill is to be on their level!! You really have to be a chameleon. If you watch the brothers, they are not big talkers, they are not fast talkers, they are not braggers, and they don’t gloat about what they can buy or how much they can buy. You have to pick up on their style within seconds of meeting them and repeat their style otherwise you will turn them off within the first two minutes and won’t find their hood stuff, won’t get the good deals, etc. they do not like doing business with fast talking salesmen. While these guys do know what they are talking about with these old cars and trucks which is getting rare to find today, especially for pinger guys so they are to be commended for that but they’ve gotta learn how to talk to these types of folks face to face, not like they are texting or email.
Sorry guys if you read this comment. You’ve got a lot of good things going for ya but you need to earn how to communicate with the older generations that made what your doing possible without offending them and I could tell that those two brothers were not impressed, especially when in the first minute of meeting them you say your gonna be their biggest buyer! Nope, they clammed up right then and there and your shot of getting any good deals that day went out the window. You don’t need to act like Richard Rawlings
@@1982MCI I’m not exactly a “Old Codger” yet but I’m pretty close and I think the one old guy was pretty rude and unless I really needed what he had or needed to preview all that rusted out mostly junk in person I would have thanked him for his time and left. I’m actually surprised there’s even much of a market for that crap and I’m sure in the next 10-20 years any of it that gets restored will return back to the state of junk that it’s in now. That’s probably why that Richard Rawlings clown has come up with the “patina” look to fool the idiots that actually can persuaded clear coated rust and dents is “cool man” so he can save on the time and expense of actually restoring all those heaps of rolling trash he sells.
I can't believe you. Man you came into this guy's place and said you had cash and would buy today. But you were only wasting his time. He td you he would take a 1000$ and he wanted 1600 dollars and you didn't buy then you offered him $100 dollars for that tail gate and that was an insult to the guy. Door dingers buzzers are probably one of my biggest pet peeves just a tiny little tug of the key on OBS GM vehicles kills it just drives me nuts they just sit there and listen to it vs. just pulling the key out just a little smidge to shut it off

I seen this underground place on American pickers. That duck doesn't help the video at all.
The tops of the cabs get dented in because they where grain or cattle trucks and they would stand on the top while loading. I’ve stood on many truck cabs out in the field loading grain in central Nebraska.

I know there was so much great stuff there you couldn't stop for every great vehicle BUT MAN!! Or as one old, senile, Old, insane, evil and very OLD man once said "C' MON MAN!". LOL.

That’s probably because 93% of it should have been melted down and turned into dog food cans sometime back into the 70’s like most of the vehicles of that era ended up as. It’s just a travesty these 2 old cranks were allowed to hoard all those hazardous waste leaking EPA nightmares ( or wet dreams depending on the particular government stooge ) that have destroyed the land they sit on for centuries to come!

Cool that you made the video and shared this amazing collection, I'm sure it was a fair amount of work to drive that distance and make the video.
Just one suggestion, don't talk about an auction and everything your going to share about the auction and then release the video after the auction. Doesn't come across very well.
At least not without tacking on a preamble saying something like “it was my intention to get this video out by x date but happened.”

The yellow ext cab F250 could be a camper special, 1977 or 76 based on the split front grille. Those trucks are bringing top dollar. Would be a smart buy if you can get a decent price. In roadworthy shape they can go for $8-15k

They had a similar auction a couple of weekends ago in Fort Collins Colorado something like 300 vehicle lot of them were from 50s

I understand that the duck is annoying and I apologize I was trying something new and it didn’t work unfortunately. However yes there’s a few people that got too see this collection but they didn’t get to see the whole thing! We went to all the surrounding property with everything that’s not in everyone else’s videos. Check out another video it’s been cut after that video.

That 750 GMC has two propane tanks on it, so a gas engine.
I used to own a 1954 Chevy 3100 series with the 6 cylinder & 6 volt & with only 1 taillight.
I actually was pulled over once at night with my pregnant wife . The officer wanted to write me a ticket but I told him that the truck was legal as is .
Man , I miss that truck . I wanna buy one like that and a 58 Chevy.

The International Hood over engine dated back in 1950's or 1960's truck. The hauler/big truck 6 wheeler was a flat front truck usually Me worth or Mack 10 wheeler. Now the baton welder shop will chop down the pillar
and wall/fender and frontal grille. It replace the whole fiberglass cab and fender together into the truck lower pillar chassis.where is was once all steel cab. The pan truck floor is still steel.

The 1946 color green Chevy Cab over engine has a missing part barrister chrome of the grille. Make a sheet metal and Fab it then Daytona, FL will copper it and electrocuted the mirror finish nickel chrome plated.Finally grazed the brass rod and together the rib grille is complete. Do not find rare part because it's impossible to find and to auction the grille of classic cab over truck..Simply grazed it with silver or brass rod as a old timer yourself to save time and much better cups of tea. Thank you.

The road tractor have to be 10 wheeler from May flower mover or American Twin. The long hailed with prime mover called caterpillar 500 HP diesel or 500 pound foot engine 1st gear low Detroit locker for rubber tires truck instead steel wheel lorry on rails in everywhere except Bart commuter.
