not working in updated messenger 2024.
My profile icon is not on the top of the page, but I can go to settings. Unfortunately, in settings there is no 'contacts' to select when I scroll downwards. I'm on the right page because it does show the dark mode selection and everything else, so where the heck is this contacts selection? Why is it missing? I have the current version.

Didn’t work. I tried to hide someone so I did and they still keep showing up. Extremely distressing. I don’t know what to do - I can’t block them but want their face to stop showing up every time I tap the icon
I'm in the same boat.... sadly my dad died and everytime I open the app, he keeps popping up.. While I miss him and wish I could indeed message him, I'd rather not see it everyday, it makes me sad.. did you ever figure this out?
@@mydogsayshowl That's sucks dude my condolences, I'm trying to remove it myself for my dad because some of his colleagues and friends are dead and it their profile shows up. Have you figured anything out yet?
I deleted messenger and redownloaded and it changed all the people suggested 👍🏻

The suggested people I don’t even have as contacts, haven’t spoken to them in years, and even removes them as friends and they are still suggested

Now the setting of messager are different than before and you don't see contact people on this settings.
Makes no sense because non contacts were on the suggested list…so obviously it didn’t work
hello. there are no phone contacts options now on the updated Facebook messenger. I hope to find another solution. thank you
I have no profile icon at that place and can't find any "phone contacts" in any menu elsewhere
New messanger update completely overhauls the setting. There is no contacts settings anymore

This didn’t work for me either. One way you can do it is to restrict the person you don’t want to see in suggested but, to do that you need to have already had some dialogue with that person (it won’t work without any messages exchanged between you & them and also won’t work on people who aren’t fb friends (like a market place connection for example)). Also, it only works when you have the show active button toggled on. So you’ll be shown when you’re active but not to them.
How do you restrict them, the person i am trying to remove I even have taken a break from on FB and dont see their feed, I dnt message them anymore yet they are on top

Hi Spencer! Currently, there isn't a way to enable or unhide 'People You May Know' on Messenger if it's not showing. It often depends on your connections and interactions. If you have any specific contacts in mind, you might try searching for them directly.
Does people you may know on Messenger pop back up after it has been hidden or something? Does it show back up after it has been hidden or something?

Unable to figure it out, I want to delete suggested people in my phone list and messenger and how you’re describing it. I do not see any of that when I go to my profile, it wants me to make a post

I don't see how this is expected to work.
Those suggestions aren't based solely on your contacts. It also populates people you've exchanged messages with in the past or is populated by other means.
This isn't a full fix.

How do I remove unwanted contacts from showing up when you share a post in messenger ...I've deleted them,blocked them, but im seeing the as available people I can share post with for example if I message someone on marketplace and then I no longer want to talk to them after next time I go to share a post or video with my family that person on the marketplace is still appearing in my messenger...how do I remove those unwanted people???
When I share a post on Facebook, a group of suggested contacts shows up under the post to be shared. About the time I tsp to share , my screen jumps and I hit one of the suggested messenger contacts. Really irritating.

Didn't work for me either. I don't even have the option on my android to access phone contacts
I don't have phone contacts in messenger which is very confusing any idea's
So many rules for say discard the memo type before open messeger

How did it work? Did you use iPhone? It didn’t work for me. I need to remove this.
Didn't work. Go to......Chat, then click on profile settings icon, go to Privacy & Safety, go to Hidden contacts, go to Add in the top right corner, choose who you want to hide from Suggestions. This worked for me after I closed out the App then reopened.
Restricting them works but then if they message yoou, you can not see it, this does not work for me

Finally, the only vide that shows how to delete all those suggested contacts.
