Forest Service began mid-management of forests, brushland and prairies in the mid-1970s. This included wildland fire defensible spaces. Livestock grazing to reduce fuel loading was reduced or eliminated. Managers allowed fire loads to increase from dead and down trees and brush. I was in wildland fire w/20 person Montana Indian Firefighter crews from 1987 - 2001. We went to several fires in Redding, Big Bear, Orange Co and San Juan Capistrano. Love and prayers to all that are fighting these fires and those who have been affected by 😭US and Cali-fire mismanagement.
Was that about living along Pacific Coast Highway in certain areas is when a disaster happens such as this or flooding or mudslides is your only way out is cut off. There are some back roads and they are caught off too.
I don’t get it why this female driving through flames 🔥 on both side, she’s taking huge risks on her behalf especially if she can’t drive any further, hopefully she makes it safely

Yeah seriously. Areas with a single egress and ingress are risky. Particularly one as disaster-prone as this one.
