nice videos as they always are you should do more walk arounds off the ship from now on/ do you know anything about the mega ships being built in 2020/ and are you going to be on the carnival sunrise 2019
you can book tours through the ship. the island is only 7 miles x 2 miles. so you wont go too far from the pier. there is a nice lighthouse right at the other end of the island that most tours end up at.
Nice video.....I was hoping to see the "other" side of the pier.......the quiet side with the restaurant Beached Whale....that's o.k........thank you again.
I liked your video very much. Found it when I searched grand turk. Question...what currency is used on these cruise ports? Will be going on my very first cruise and none of the many videos I have watched mentions this. Thank you.
Yes you can leave the duty free zone and explore the island. There are a couple trams with awesome guides to take you around. Very cool seeing wild horses and asses walking freely all over the place.
Thanks. I am glad you found it interesting. I have a few others on this channel about Grand Turk if you want to check them out. this one is about jacks shack. th-cam.com/video/Xa7FXZIblTQ/w-d-xo.html
Its African sea weed. Same thing in Cozumel but way way worse(we were there in Aug) They say its really bad this year. Ocean currents have changed and its pushing into the Caribbean
@@MrJaysVentVideos i would say yes. Its affecting all the Caribbean islands. The resort type islands have the benefit that ppl go out in the mornings and "comb" the beach and collect it off the beaches. I think Cozumel is the worst because the island is not very populated and they dont have as much help. We did the save a sea turtle excursion and the beaches with the sea weed and plastic was horrific! Volenters from the island were out combing the beaches that ppl where swimming at. Its really bad for the baby turtles and sea life 😢
@j t You could say that. there are very similar. especially for me having worked on ships for so long. Bermuda has a different feel to it, but that's because of its British heritage. if you watched 3 or 4 how to get to the beach videos, the places do start to feel the same.
They always tell us all the beach chairs and umbrellas are free and not to pay for them. But they really harass you for the money. I don’t mind paying because I know that’s how the people are making a living , but the cruise staff shouldn’t be telling you not to pay them anything because it’s confusing !
In the passed few years the specific are that is the cruise centre has changed. In the begining the beach directly next to the ship exclusively for cruise passengers. Then the locals stepped in realizing the area directly next to water isn't land owned by the cruise terminal. So they put their own chairs in place and now ask for money as a daily rental. I understand the confusion I did notice on my last visit the grand turk cruise centre staff letting people know which colour umbrellas and chairs are free.

nice videos as they always are you should do more walk arounds off the ship from now on/ do you know anything about the mega ships being built in 2020/ and are you going to be on the carnival sunrise 2019
I would love to be on sunrise. I will ask. Bit it's still a long way off. As for the 2020 ships I don't know much at all. Sorry.
Great video! It's helped a lot. It doesn't seem like there is much to do as I don't care about the beach. Do they have any day town tour excursions?

The Currency of the island is U.S. dollars. And all pricing on the Isla d is in dollars as well. Glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching. 🙂
What time of year was it when you filmed this video?
Russell did you see an exit to the cruise center? Could one leave and explore the exterior land??
Yes you can leave the duty free zone and explore the island. There are a couple trams with awesome guides to take you around. Very cool seeing wild horses and asses walking freely all over the place.

Any way you can get the casino? We like to see the names of the slots and then look those game plays up lol
I carnt do an up close video. I was lucky enough to do the walk through. As no filming is allowed in the casino. Sorry.
I'm super excited about wild fury and 3d zuma! :)
Is the port area roughly the same a few years later and post covid?
Yes, no real different to the port. a few shops have changed hands, but otherwise the same. Russell.
Is it safe to go by myself?? And would I get lost?
Its African sea weed. Same thing in Cozumel but way way worse(we were there in Aug) They say its really bad this year. Ocean currents have changed and its pushing into the Caribbean
Thanks for letting me know. I really didn't know what caused it.
Will it affect St Martin and St Kitts as well
