There’s the one fault with Miami Vice: Why did they need Crockett and Tubs, when all they had to do was send the Lieutenant in. He works in every situation.
MV was such a landmark show in so many ways. Had it been a HBO owned show ....they could have gotten away ith so much more (like The Sopranos)...i think needed to best portray Miami crime `life`. though, if they did that the show wouldn`t have reached as wide an audience....still be a mega hit...as The Sopranos was...also `landmark`....they both did a lot of firsts....
Zombies usually don't talk. What I liked about him is he was so grim, intimidating, a man of few words but he made what he said count. I found him very convincing as a leader and a badass. Even though I liked Lt Rodriguez before him, the show felt complete when he came on board as Lt Castillo.
His performance is truly unique. The actor is not physically imposing, yet he plays the character so convincingly, with such authority. Brilliant!
Spot on.
Good point! Amazing how intimidating he can be just with the stare.
I met Mr. Olmos at a charity event in Miami in the mid 80s and was struck by how humble he was. That lesson served me well all these years.
Awesome! Must be exciting meeting him face to face, though I think it's a very intelligent and friendly man in real life.
Castillo says so much with only his face and eyes.
The eyes! Castillo's eyes say it all! James Edward Olmos - great actor!
I cannot express how pleased i was when he described how reserved he wanted to slowly develop and grow know a lot of people thought he was being rude.
That is a great actor
Outstanding performance from a great actor
Today, I think I acutually watched Miami Vice for Castllo
Now that's leadership.
"your people go on strike?" the funniest Boss Castillo line
Let. Castillo talks with his eyes
3:49 *that real estate lady from the WallStreet movies!!*
…Still, the ultimate, cop, badass!!!…
2024 Happy 40th Anniversary Miami Vice. I Love the 1980s.
Edward James Olmos was excellent. O loved him as Castillo
I would love to play the lieutenant role on the new Miami Vice ... if it ever comes to fruition. 😂
Edward James Olmos in my opinion is one of the greatest actors alive today!!!!!!!!
Staring contest.
Castillo vs Chuck Norris.
That's a tough bet.
🤔
2:39 I love how they used the crazy camera focus to the point where it makes it look like there's a green screen behind the actors...
You missed one: "I'm just doing what you're afraid to do. One day, i'll bury you too."
There’s the one fault with Miami Vice:

Castillo was the real deal

Olmos just didn't get enough playing time during the show's run. I almost don't want to watch an episode if it doesn't focus on Castillo
Of course everybody listens to Commander Adama!
Did you notice the scene where he and Brother Cavil were together?
4:10 *THE stare*
The Mt. Rushmore of law enforcement actors Charles Bronson, Chuck Norris, Clint Eastwood, and Edward James Olmos
Maiami vice era y sigue siendo una buena pelicula de accion.
If I was a Cop I would hope I would have a Lt Castillo's or a Admiral Adama in like him ❤
So much powerfull!!!👊🏼🖤#respectthemustacheman
Absolutely the wrong cat to fuck around with.
Castillo has better things to do then to shake hands with slimeballs he has big fishes to get remember lol
This is my city. Captaine four star what ever...
this is my city.
He was made by Cyberdyne Systems.
Model 102. Model 101 was the action man. Model 102 had the eyes man, the eyes that can stare you into ultimate submission.
Cyberdyne was constructed for purposes of evil Martin Castillo as human and born to be good
I think I worked for him!
No emotion. decisive. Boss!
I was scared of Lt. when I was a kid!
Like Castillo was a chess grand master and the detectives were playing checkers with a few pieces missing.
Is this where you put them all together.
EJO is rather an Intimidating Dude.
He looks like someone who would have really bad breath 🤭
Too much cheetos in the morning :)

The ending of Miami Vice was horrible. They made Castillo the bad guy
I run the show, listen to me. you are nothing.
we need you to play these next scenes with no emotion. OMG, couldn't stand this guy
I don't get it, act walk and talk like a zombie and get kudos for it.
