A clip which I intended to make in past several years. A montage of Miami Vice (1984) with some of its soundtrack in the background.
Miami Vice is one of my favorite series. In the 80s it has given new trends and it still remains a unique production among other TV series. There is a specific atmosphere in it. Breathtaking views, beautiful women, fashion creations, sports cars, pursuits, and shootouts. Plus the music of the best artists of the 1980s and very decent guest cast - many future stars of the big screen appeared. All of those aspects I've putted in this montage with Phil Collins' "In The Air Tonight" soundtrack.
Grzegorz Grabowiec will you be making the one Sonny is chasing in the boats crashes at the end of the Epsoide I am trying to find that song ?
Perhaps a dumb question , but was that Bruce Willis at 2:29? Great video of a time gone past Kodos!
Maggie Rezac ya he was in a Ep more hair too. Its on COZI Network as of 2017 still on too Pacific time 12am to 3 am range.
That was just one fantastic video thanks for the upload.

Yes, its was a good day , old good days
How so? What made it so special?

There was a recession, global fear of the Cold War, Globalization taking away jobs, technology taking away careers, big government was the problem, AIDs and HIV scares, and drug problems that was relevant to Miami Vice. Miami Vice was about fashion and dangerous of a large amount of money that could be made in drug dealing "paid for my the misery of other people."
Sonny: "How long will it take you to get ready?"
Tubbs: "I'm always ready!
Miami Vice, Literally a series that was ahead of it's time. What an era. The nostalgia is real man. Been re-watching the entire series these past months, and what a time. Don't think any show can come close too it these days. Sad that the era, is long past. Iconic storyline, themes, instrumentals, characters and so much more. Legendary. What makes me appreciate the show even more is that they used some of Collin's music, truly iconic.
I would say that Miami Vice fit its time rather than it was ahead of its time. What has followed since the 80's has been a precipitous decline in fashion and in the quality and intensity of life that is reflected in the vapidity of TV shows and movies.
Reading that dictionary again I see! ☝️
And the strange thing is..... it still looks cool!
Very well said my friend ❤
Bro, life was good before K-pop.
Cause of K-pop, everything got ruined such as songs, series etc.

Growing up in the 1980's (born in 1970), watching Miami Vice on weekends was a weekly EVENT ! The guest stars, the cars, the clothes, and Crockett and Tubbs all made for a viewing experience like nothing else. Open the window on a hot summer night and you felt just like you too were in Miami.
Did Costello ever smile?
I was just south of Phoenix and this show even made me feel hot when it looked all muggy.
I wish I could go back and do it all over again born in 70 and grew up watching Miami vice best show on TV
I was born in 77 and was able to expierence alot of the 80s but not enough to really have enjoyed it. Bought the series and I am now upto season 4, just about done with it. To me, Miami Vice seemed like it started out kind of out there for a cop series upto the end of S1, got really good for S2-3 and started going paranormal in season 4 into 5
Glenn Frey as the pilot smuggling drugs was my favorite guest star!

Miami Vice hit different. It literally epitomized the 80's. The scene with this song was probably the single handed greatest scene in television in the 80's. You felt every note of the song as they drove thru the night in silence. What a vibe.

Ultimately iconic and classic! There will never be another television show as memorable and indelible as the 1980s "Miami Vice"!
Ehhhhh ....
Maybe "Hill Street Blues" is running close
The writing on it paved the way for many shows the difference might just be the camera shots and the fact that they had several overlaying character stories in one show
I watched Hill Street Blues and liked it, and know it was very popular, but the two shows were different. The big difference being the iconic music matched to the scenes and action in Miami Vice. But, Hill Street Blues is a good one.

I used to work retail in 1984-85. We had TVs in the store. After closing for the day on Fridays, my manager and I would reconcile the purchases for the day while watching Miami Vice. We would not miss an episode. Thus show introduced so many great rock songs which are now classics of today.
Miami Vice was and still is the 😎coolest show!

A fitting tribute to the best cop show there ever was and ever will be. The editing is quite simply absolute perfection. No other decade will ever surpass the 80's in the quality of its life, its music, its style, etc.
I’m guessing, but seems you didn’t get to experience the 60’s & 70’s. I think you would’ve liked them also, especially the music and lack of bras by 50% of the female pop. Lol

I can still remember watching this show after being introduced to it by a good friend of mine called Kevin (such an 80s name). Crocket and Tubbs were the coolest duo of the 80s. The look, sound, dialogue and subject matter summed up the 80s perfectly. Miami Vice was a hugely successful and influential TV show that would go on to be mimicked by other TV shows as well as films. Don Johnson was cooler than ice, and Philip Michael Thomas was hotter than the Miami sun. The two men played Sonny Crockett and Ricardo Tubbs, drug-enforcement officers in a bright and fashionable Miami. At the time of filming, the town of Miami was run-down, plagued with drugs, crime, social and economic problems. It’s no secret that Miami Vice helped the town prosper to eventually become what it is today.
The show was a watershed moment in TV much like how MTV changed music and music videos. Crocket and Tubbs took on hardened criminals and suffered for it. They showed the real side of policing, where the risk of being harmed or even killed was an occupational hazard. What really made the show for me was their friendship. The loyalty, respect and understanding they had for one another influenced me in a big way. When I think of great friendships, I think of Crocket and Tubbs, two men who couldn’t be more different, yet were prepared to die for each other. How many of us have a friendship like that?
I can’t write about Miami Vice and not talk more about the pastel-shaded fashion, the stubble-faces, sock-free feet and carefree hairstyles. The look of Miami Vice is what made it stand out from other TV shows. The pastel colours added warmth to their personalities and complemented the Miami sunshine. The colours popped out as did everything else in the show. The Sonny/Crocket look became very popular among men. The light-coloured blazer, pastel T-shirt and shoes without socks became commonplace. I can still remember some of my older friends wearing this look. Oh, they had to wear socks, however, as it is too cold in England! The rough, unclean, dishevelled look was to Miami Vice what Clint Eastwood was to Fistful of Dollars. Their grooming style reminded me of the 1960s Spaghetti Western look made popular by legendary and visionary director, Sergio Leone. I imagine Michael Man was influenced by Leone’s anti-hero characters too.
Miami Vice gives me a warm feeling and good memories are conjured in my mind's eye, those long hot summers of my childhood still remain with me. What a decade in which to have grown up.
Awesome commentary!!
@@smartanajones4u Thank you, buddy.

The quality of this is beyond amazing. I'm especially impressed with how you matched the music--and even more so, the famously ambiguous lyrics--with scenes from the show.
