That is a great story. That would make for a great movie indeed. Sounds like this soldier was a fighter. He needs recognition for sure. This man can tell a story. He reminds me of our Paw Paw Deel. You could listen to him and not be bored. Another great one. Keep them coming!

What a great story! The theme of accomplishing something amazing while not even realizing what one is doing seems to reveal itself more than a few times in wartime. It makes perfect sense that this little-known hero was well-prepared by his civilian upbringing and life in Appalachia.
