Much more than a performance, a visual, musical, and vocal experience deserving complete attention to every second, every movement, facial expression, gesture, and nuance. Possibly the most impressive child singer video ever. Especially when you know she arranged this piece herself to pay tribute to the original artist. Screamin Jay Hawkins was a black entertainer in the mid 50's that did this piece as a parody to get more notice and TV bookings, not an easy feat in the mid 50's for a black man. Her tribute to him was to take his parody song and make a serious jazz piece to honor him. The writing at the beginning is her last minute changes for the band. She is such a selfless artist and person.
She flat out owns this song. SJH sang it almost like a novelty song. Angelina made a real song with a narrative that has passion, at nine years old. She is a real prodigy and we get to watch.

But was intruduced to soul from the age of 3 if i aint wrong from her grandmother that was an prodigy her self. Her biograohy is as intresting and amazing as her singing. 9 year 2 month old Angelina, even at this tender age was on a mission to sing for the entire world. No doubt she is a prodigy but unlike any we have seen before. Angelina has always created her own arrangements then deliver a song better than a seasoned veteran. Here is the story why she ALWAYS PERFORMS BAREFOOT. At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true. Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East.
It's not for nothing that Quincy Jones invited Angelina to open for his anniversary concert in London in 2018. That Norah Jones congratulated her at a joint concert in Asia. That Queen was impressed with her bohemian rhapsody adaptation. And that many other professionals have collaborated or wanted to collaborate with Angelina.

The journey has been filled with incredible performances, now the pandemic is coming to a close live concerts can slowly open up. you must know that at the time of this video, she was 9 years old. Angelina turned 16 January 10th 2022. Angelina also arranges the songs to change them ever so slightly to make them hers. notice the pen in her hand and also at the beginning when the band leader is looking at her notes.
Nine years old and actually arranging the song in the way she wanted the orchestra to accompany her. Can understand why professional musicians she works, with will refer to her as 'The Boss', for she truly takes control in order to project the presentation in the way she feels it should be done.

Appreciate your informed review a lot. She was 9 here and is 16 now. She has grown in skill and voice, recently released 7th Heaven, her latest jazz original. Most recent release is My Valentine, a master piece IMO. She sings many genres, e.g. Adele's Go Easy On Me, recently released.
She just keeps improving. If you're going to follow her, it's probably best to start when she was very young and work forward. Every time you think she can't get better, she does!
Queen Angelina, there's no comparison. Its game over. She 16 now and gets better and better and better and better. She has full creative control of her contract and her label is not able to promote her until she is ready and done with school. She is giving the last few good artist a chance before she walks up to the throne.

I think the "soul" came in mega-buckets, when she was about 6 or 7 - and you can tell from her live TV performances around 2014 on Norways Got Talent - which she WON. Angelina has always created her own arrangements then deliver a song better than a seasoned veteran. Here is the story why she ALWAYS PERFORMS BAREFOOT.
At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true.
Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East.

It's not for nothing that Quincy Jones invited Angelina to open for his anniversary concert in London in 2018.
That Norah Jones congratulated her at a joint concert in Asia. That Queen was impressed with her bohemian rhapsody adaptation. And that many other professionals have collaborated or wanted to collaborate with Angelina.
I truly believe that within the next 10-15 years Angelina will be considered the greatest singer EVER.

Great reaction. Angelina recorded this performance almost 7 years ago. She is now 16, she has grown into an elegant young woman, her voice has matured and she know how to use it! The journey has been filled with incredible performances, now the pandemic is coming to a close live concerts can slowly open up. Angelina tends to give her best performance in live concerts, often outdoors, with a live band or orchestra. you must know that at the time of this video, she was 9 years old. Angelina turned 16 January 10th 2022.
Angelina also arranges the songs to change them ever so slightly to make them hers. notice the pen in her hand and also at the beginning when the band leader is looking at her notes.

wanted the orchestra to accompany her. Can understand why
professional musicians she works, with will refer to her as 'The
Boss', for she truly takes control in order to project the presentation
in the way she feels it should be done.
Angelina is a prodigy and her voice is doing just fine at now, 16. 9yr 2mth in this performance . Won Norway's Got Talent at age 7/8. Signed with Republic Records last year.
Want to be even more floored.....By this time (she was nine here) she was doing all her own notation and arrangements....Means these musicians are playing what she has requested. At the beginning of the video you see her writing, and then you see one of the band members looking at the notes, and cracking a grin.

Remember, this recording was done when she was 9 years and 2 months old. She is now a tall, absolutely gorgeous 16 year old young woman, who is redefining what music is. She is giving us a gift of absolutely unimaginable proportions. For an old geezer like me, who had thought that all real Jazz was gone - to be able to hear her is to feel what it is like to experience a vocal artist who sings directly to the listener's heart and soul. Truly she sings like the Angel she is, and not like a mere human.

Appreciate your informed review a lot. She was 9 here and is 16 now. She has grown in skill and voice, recently released 7th Heaven, her latest jazz original. Most recent release is My Valentine, a master piece IMO. She sings many genres, e.g. Adele's Go Easy On Me, recently released.
She just keeps improving. If you're going to follow her, it's probably best to start when she was very young and work forward. Every time you think she can't get better, she does!

Great reaction. You do not have to worry about Angelina growing into her voice, at 16 now, she, as some credible vocal coaches have stated, could be giving Master Classes in Vocals. This song is the entrance to the "rabbit hole" and man what a journey it is. These seasoned jazz musicians in this video refer to this 9 year old girl as "The Boss" as she was a big part of arranging this song the way she wanted to perform it. You shall find out that Angelina is a music genius, beginning at ages 7-8 when she performed on and won Norway Got Talent, competing against adults. We Angels who number in the millions support her with a passion and really enjoy reactors like yourself that really get it when viewing the talent of this young lady. Look forward to more. BTW, she just created a new standard in her rendition of "My Funny Valentine" she released in her IG. The most beautiful version of that song ever done, or at least I have ever heard in 60+ years of listening to music.

I love your enthusiasm! and you obviously know jazz. This girl is the jazz talent I have waited for my whole life. She goes beast mode here but that was just because this song called for it. I think the "soul" came in mega-buckets, when she was about 6 or 7 - and you can tell from her live TV performances around 2014 on Norways Got Talent - which she WON. Shakes - great reaction - and you've got such a great journey ahead. By the way - she's growing up, just 16 now, and BOY - did her voice grow with her! You'll see!
