I came to know of you almost 5 years ago, in my opinion more so now than 5 years ago the words that you speak which represents knowledge needs to be heard again. I've acquired via research plus folks like yourself the name of my first enslaved ancestor which is a descendant of the Gouns of Porto-Novo, Benin. I accepted an Honorary Citizenship from the Republic of Benin August 2019 and of course my focus shifted from Orisa to building sustainable relations but that is my Paternal Ancestry and not soul. You are the voice of truth and trust. I've declined invitations from many on both sides of the Atlantic plus middle regions and accept words from thought from you. I am suggesting you return✊🏿

I believe Beyonce has been studying the Orishas, metaphysics & the occult since she came or even before.

So true. I look forward to continuing my journey despite my limited but somewhat negative experiences with local lucumi communities. I look forward to learning with an Ifa centered house that is open and kind and accepting to me as an African American woman. Beyonce has all the right to learn just like all other African Americans

I’m not sure how current this information is but I listened to an interview where the creative director for the Lemonade concept and she took responsibility for the direction of the video record. The “Becky with the good hair” meme, the surviving a cheating man... it was a living tribute to bringing the mythology of Osun through Beyoncé’s music. Now, she could totally be connected to Africkan spirituality and Orisa devotion, however, someone else claimed responsibility for overlaying these themes in the creation of the music and theater pieces. In terms of “Bible thumping...” well that’s what Hoodoo is all about! Bible connected to Akrican spiritual traditions so her Christianity doesn’t rule out her witchcraft in that sense. Both things could be true. I think what is unfortunate is that we, as the consumers or non-consumers of her material choose to apply judgement on her without knowing her intimately. We put out folks on pedestals just to tear them down when they get too big for their britches. I don’t worship Beyoncé but I do respect her work ethic. And also, it doesn’t matter! Most ppl wouldn’t even know that she was trying to embody Osun without being connected to the spirituality of our ancestors. So for those of us who do get it, why would she bother connecting herself to something that doesn’t resonate with her. That’s hella bad juju... just saying. 🙏🏾

African spiritual traditions are the ancestral birthright of Black people. We are the true spiritual inheritors these traditions.

I think people, especially women, are jealous of Beyonce whether they realize it or not and I'm not even trying to be funny. There is a clear bias that people have towards that woman and they can't stand that a woman of her status, success, and beauty is just as educated and self aware as they are.

Oh course there is still some holding back of information by some of our own people. Unfortunately, some of this has to do with a "slavery mentality". Most of our people don't even realize how mentally enslaved we are still. This type of behavior does not help in building our community, in fact it causes more distractions.

Human beings have to do a better job of honoring and respecting the Divine spark within, which we all have. When we honor the Divine spark within ourselves and everyone else, sharing and caring will be a reality that will elevate us all spiritually. Then the dictum of our being "People Of The Sun (The Light)," is a fact...

I'm a Nigerian Yoruba and even over here where the ATR came from we aren't allowed anywhere near orisa worship/knowledge... I feel it mostly has to do with the negativity attributed to ATR's

absolutely gatekeeping and I get it, her elitism do come off as commercial. But hey, maybe she got enough money to be blacker than thou now. But outside of the Bey....yes I do think theres a lot of hierarchy and lockin folks out. And im still torn about it...bc even me beign considered Aborisha, some elders here and there have bent the rules just for me bc their spirits told them to. They even asked their own spirits why am I to break the rules for this girl within what I am teaching. Some people are NOT ready for initiation but that dont necessarily discount that childs authenticity. I highly honor my ori, I work with my eggun and I harbor universal truth in all different paths. the teachers are dealing with this gatekeeping this right now bc now theyre questioning if this was even a valid thing to do. On the other end...I meet so many ppl who consider themselves "aborisha" and they hardly gaf outside of love spells and money so then I can see why the practice of ATR faiths IS being gatekeeped.

Beyonce is either initiated or not, the end. If she is not then she shouldn't be "representing" that which she hasn't EARNED the right to. It's too easy for misinformation to occur. It doesn't matter if she is part Creo, knowledge doesn't happen by way of proxy. That's like saying "my mom's is a brain surgeon so ... don't worry, I'll grab the butcher knife and be right back!" FOH. ATR's are Secret society, initiation based closed systems. The end. Those who want to activate their birth right must initiate thru the earth rites. People who think like you are partly the reason Blacks ended up slaves and remain in present conditions. The very nature of POWER is a closed system. Peace and blessings.

I'm a newbie to the ORISHA religion I'm trying to seek knowledge however, I'm finding it difficult to find an in person knowledge here where I reside. I'm slowly learning that many ppl keep their faith practices very private I'm assuming out if fear maybe.

What the true African orisha priests won't tell you about, is the history of Human sacrifices to these false Gods, no it's not just animal sacrifices! In Nigeria people still openly sacrifice humans to these bloodthirsty demons. In the slave islands, Cuba etc, the British colonial masters banned Humans sacrifices in the 1870s.
Educate yourselves on this religion and don't fall for the western superficial glamourisation of it. African tradition is diverse and doesn't boil down to demon worship, there are other ways to connect to your roots without giving yourself to Satan (who dwells and hides in every culture)
Even the yorubua of the ancient days didn't all get involved in the dark forces disguised in the garments of light because they had wisdom to discern Good from evil .
Besides before you all jump on the worship of Oshun; in the Yoruba religion the orisha chooses you at birth, if you worship the wrong one you become possessed with evil, become mad or commit suicide.
These Gods (demons) are greedy they don't give without asking for something in return, they have no moral judgement and are indifferent ... The more you want, the more you must give sacrifice... =blood
If you get into the practice and fail to worship them correctly by sacrificing enough, they will spiritually destroy you...
Again, educate yourself on what you're actually talking about.
    As A christian
You believe there is only one God and what Christ said
"I am the way, the life and the truth
No one comes to the Father except through me."
Throughout the bible, it is preached to avoid the worship of other ancient Gods for they are demons clothed in garments of light, with no power to do Good.
According to my faith, idols, no matter how African or female they are, are not Gods but one of the many paths that lead to Satan.
Worship whatever you want but accept my faith in Jesus and my decision to avoid the demons the saviours warns about.
PS Christianity is not a European religion, it's very much part if the african spirit.

Marie and Joseph Were Human and gave birth to Jesus. The Globe worships and praises His name. Why ? For all the Good he had done and spiritual education. We make sacrifices to Him also. Jesus was a Prophet, Savior, Messenger etc. Same goes for Oshun, Yemaya, Obatala, etc These Were all human figures who made an impact on their communities and countries and or tribes. Today, same as Jesus, they are prayed to, made sacrifices to for advancement in life, life's obstacles, illnesses, jobs, homes, wealth, list goes on. EUROPEANS ADDED THEIR TWIST TO EVERY OTHER RELIGION AND CULTURE ON THIS EARTH. History is repeating itself, just discreetly, which is not so discreet btw.

Every religion has a priest, priestess, pastor etc who can use their abilities attained from our Creator foremost and Archangels, Orishas, Loas, Wtvr to do Good 99.99% of the time. Satan and his evildoers on Earth make up that 1% whether its in Vodou or Christianity.

    • @w.joseph9150

And furthermore every individual on this planet has a spirit as his/her guide that they were born with as i believe you mentioned. It may not be an Orisha, Loa, or even Jesus for that matter.

Yes we are still horsing. As man of trans experience, I get told I have to be initiated as a woman because orisha don't like gay people. That's some crap because if people REALLY studied their history they will know, that just like in Native American history, we were the holy people of our African ancestors. Too much colonizer be has gotten into our lives and we see it as the norm. This needs to be corrected or we will never be able to truly get where we need to be spiritually on earth

    • @LuigioMacchio777

They told you the truth, if you are gay you can't be initiated in traditionals african religions, no offence, but your behavior is against nature.

@@LuigioMacchio777 In true African worship there’s no such thing. That is European influence into our belief system. I’ve learned that since I first put this up. It is your European influence that is against nature. We are two legged mammals and there are gay four legged animals in nature. Get your crap together and stop following the nonsense of your people.

Just like I find myself surprised of a lot of things you say, being a practitioner yourself. You are obviously stuck in your hate for the white races, not to mention your selfishness when referring to Orisha.
Just because one origin is obviously African, doesn't mean it doesn't belong to the world. Also, a Santeria practitioner makes an oath to help others. I don't doubt Beyonce has received help from the religious practices of La Regla de Ocha, she has been to Cuba on a couple occasions. She obviously has some knowledge of the truth, and, make no mistake, Cuban have kept Orisha very well preserved, much more than the so called "evolution" that has taken place by ALL RACES in other countries, ESPECIALLY in the U.S.
