    I'm a 5th generation Irish-American guy who is just learning about fragrances. As far as I'm concerned, this blows away the both the designer and niche fragrances. This is true art at its finest. I will most definitely be buying some attars in the near future. I can't believe that these aren't more popular (and expensive) than they are.

    A unique and informative video Nikhil. As always excellent work. However i was wondering, do we have something similar to lime or lemon scents available in English perfumeries in our traditional attars. It would be excellent to use a traditional attars that has notes of Lemon, lime, sweet lime or other citrus notes.

  • @bsupriya84
    @bsupriya84 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Oh thanks so much for this video. I have visited their store so often, it's a pleasure to see how these scents are made. Their Ruh khus and mitti ittars have seen me through many summers, Shamama was almost a signature scent if I went to a colder place. It gets too heady in the Bombay heat. Was wondering if you could explain what are the different types of shamama like, if mohsin is spicier than Malik shamama etc. Going to the store I try so many ittars that after a while I can't tell anything apart.

    Sir i purchased mohsin shamama from a shop in Karachi, it says the brand is Ayub Yaqub. It's fragnance is very different, one i never experienced before. Fragrance of different spices could also be felt. But please confirm, if you have used Mohsin Shamama, that does it's base contain Sandal as after sometime i feel the most prominent smell is sandal in Mohsin Shamama.

    This was fascinating and as someone who loves to travel, Kannauj seems a must see place on my list...but then as a woman, I think it would be important to consider safety when traveling alone in a place whose history and culture is steeped in patriarchal dominance. (I'm sure there are travel guides for basic tourist destinations geared towards women but here I'm talking as it relates to places you personally visited) I must admit in my excitement from seeing this video, I Googled "female Indian perfumers" to see if there are any places in India run by women and, well, anyone who does search will end up where I did. As You Tube videos are seen around the world by women as well as men who are thinking of going into perfumery and gathering source material from reputable places, where personal safety might be a great divide, I would appreciate your advice for any women who might be watching. Will women be given the best raw or base materials if they were to inquire whether online, phone, or visiting? or would a male representative be required?

      Pretty good, although we are short on all of these amazing things here in Australia... I have a friend that I must re-connect with - she had a major shop in an upscale district, like an emporium, which had international patrons: the performer 'Pink,' actress Julia Roberts... ...Satnam Ramgotra, the drummer from the Han Zimmer Hollywood movie theme music band/orchestra, really...
      It's a complicated market over here, sometimes absolutely nothing works, and then suddenly there is a huge upswing.
