  • We purchased a new splitter for our firewood processing. Specs include a 9HP Honda engine, 16 gpm 2 stage pump and a 26 ton rating.
We've purchased different splitters over the years; a Split-Fire, a Hakki Pilke Easy37 and more recently the EastonMade 12-22 (bought used in 2019, it was a year old). For the way we process firewood (stacked into crates) we're always looking for the most efficient way of processing firewood. Its early day with this vertical splitter but we think this vertical splitter is going to be the most efficient way.
This splitter is made in Canada, in the province of Québec by the company www.souduremol....
This is not a promo video and no product was given to us and neither were we asked to do a video. So our opinions on the product are our own.

Nice splitter, but think I would hold the piece on the sides and try to avoid any fingers or parts of the hand on the top of the bolt. Just me.

Sweet splitter and set up. As usual extremely efficient and well thought out.

Yes, very simple design, but strong and quick.

Not much to them really. Find a pallet already made or build to your own specs using 2x4 and 1x4 or 1x6. Once you know the size of your pallet, do the math to determine how high they need to be. Pretty sure there's a video in our channel that talks about building them. th-cam.com/video/7fXtLlKmWEs/w-d-xo.html

Why do you think it's better for drying? In our experience, and that of my grandfather and his father, we've determined it's better to stack the wood bark side up. Doing it that way prevents the bark from acting like a bowl holding water. Moisture is less likely to collect on a convex surface than on a concave surface.

Seems to short to me. If taller less bending and less likely to put hands on to of wood

Depends on what your level of comfort is I guess. I'm sure the mfg can work with a client to adjust the height to suit their needs. It's just right for us. We did adjust the height of the pallets while stacking though. Made a platform to get the pallet crates 12" off the ground. Made a big difference loading.
