I had to stop following some of these "influencers" because their extragrant lifestyles do not match my reality and don't help me achieve my financial goals.
I stopped following a few people on TH-cam because they caused me so much anxiety. All the decorating videos are just too much stuff. I have cutout alot of decorating because of it. On the flip side, the minimalism videos have helped to make my life more calmer and get back to the basics. I enjoy your videos.
Totally agree with you about influencers. While I enjoy QVC, I cannot even go to their show anymore. It is my weakness- they convince me to purchase things that I do not need! Many times I return items and, of course, pay the return shipping! I appreciate your message-- be aware!!
Wow... Jennifer... you know what? Of everyone I watch on TH-cam (and it's a lot now with Netflix burnout), I trust you more than anyone... I NEVER feel like you are trying to talk me into anything, sell me anything, or change my mind. You exude kindness and honesty. You discuss things from YOUR perspective, and share YOUR thoughts. I am trying to get out of debt (would love more videos on your debt journey), and you give GREAT tips and guidance. I appreciate all of these endorsements! (And I just bought the expensive version of that blow dryer - and you are right - I looked liked I had walked out of a salon! Couldn't believe what a great job it did!)
I really appreciate your humbleness and honesty. Some of those TH-camrs make me crazy with all of their plugs for products looking to make a quick buck. I’m just like anyone else, definitely up for saving money and getting a great product, but some of these gals are shameless. I’m rooting for you, keep up what you’re doing, we certainly appreciate it!! ❤️
My son’s first birthday had no decorations, but we ate steak and crab cakes. My family growing up always “splurged” on good food, and that is a value I’m more than willing to continue participating in. The decorations will be forgotten, but the memory of watching my son shove a whole cake his grandma made him in his mouth will last a lifetime. Thank you for this video. I think our culture really needs to start questioning the values we are living by.
I love your videos. I am affected by TH-cam because I watch lots of videos about minimalism, frugality and living a simple life and have been able to double my amount of savings this past month. Sometimes being influenced is a good thing. Keep making those great videos.
I am not on IG and you are on of the very few channels I watch on TH-cam. I love your conversations. I am trying to eliminate anything that does not add value to my life :)
You're so right about everything you said in this video!! Unfortunately, I've been influenced to purchase many things after watching recommendations from TH-camrs. I love to watch "clean with me" videos - - I've ruined the look of my stainless steel kitchen sink when a TH-camr recommended cleaning it with steel wool. My faucet also started leaking when the same TH-camr recommended leaving vinegar-soaked paper towels around the faucet to dissolve hard water stains. One TH-camr often shows her thrift store hauls, and then she's seen a few months later decluttering and donating said items back to the thrift store - so what's the point!? I've certainly learned some lessons. Sorry about this long comment.
Linda do not be sorry for the length of your comment ever... I think every word of this comment is needed for people to hear. Thank you for sharing your experience! 🤗
I wish all parents would lock arms and stop the insane birthday parties. The competition is insane. Pretty sure my kids have suffered socially for lack of extravagant parties...but I just can’t do it. It’s too much.
When I give my girls birthday parties I made the cake, dug out the punch bowl that one daughter still has because of the memories of it being at every birthday party, used our everyday dishes, bought a plastic tablecloth, sometimes only us as a family where there or they were allowed one or two people they could invite if they wanted too. Great parties, Great memories!!
Thank you for talking about these big birthday parties. I think cake and ice cream and friends are perfect, and that is a homemade cake. And that is what my kids remember...mom’s cake that she decorated.
Love, love your channel! You are so authentic and REAL! I would love to be as centered and grounded as you are. Totally enjoying your posts. Can you please provide a link for the skillet that you show here? Thank you!
Another great video, thank you. Instead of feeling "less than" or "trying to keep up with the Jonses" I switch my thinking to abundance and logic... I instead try to tell myself "I have enough, I'll try to first use what I already have and remind myself I'm also saving every month for things that are more important to me and my family for the future." I think of saving as a good thing vs. excess spending which can be a silly financial decision for one's future. I also would love to advocate here considering your local "Buy Nothing" groups online. I have been so blessed to receive amazing free decor for Halloween and Easter and Christmas, just to mention a few.
Talking about Christmas decor, decorating our tree is always a great experience with all the decorations from years ago, some that the kids (now grown) made at school. Some ridiculous, some sentimental. Wouldn't change that for the world :)
Good for you for addressing this. I'm an older woman so I don't need much anymore, and don't fall for any of the specials, but I love you tube and am not too happy with the commercialism it can promote.
I absolutely agree with you. I have watched some of those videos and was just shaking my head. Sadly, not everybody is able to distinguish between the genuine and almost fake ones. You are genuine, that’s why I love watching you. Most everything you say sounds well thought through and like you really mean it. Great job!!
I really appreciate that you put so much thought into your content, Jennifer! It takes a lot of time and effort, so I don't mind if you have links, or if you suggest items that you personally use and like. I also make sure to "like" your videos, to help out your channel. I think some youtubers are willing to take any sponsorship, and it effects the quality of their content when they try to build a video to include whatever they are trying to sell. The companies have to realize they are saturating youtube to the point that it becomes a turn off. I'm looking at you Skillshare & Squarespace.
You really hit the nail on the head! I think because of the last year or so, many people were relying on online shopping, and watching reviews for products they wanted. So these influencers were gaining a following. I don't watch sponsored videos. I love your advice and your videos, Jennifer!
From childhood we are trained to be good consumers. It takes discipline to control impulse spending. It is no wonder that people have no savings or emergency fund. You are providing a great service.
Years ago as a new mom, I hosted a little birthday party for one of my sons. One of the guests (he was probably only 7 or 8) asked, "where are the treat bags?" I had no idea that treat bags were expected at birthday parties.
I’ve thought several times about the Always Pan because of all the positive talk. Sometimes it’s so hard to find products that are really worth the money. You’re the first “real” person who I’ve heard from other than the commercials I’ve seen. Also thank you for such wise words in this video. I’ve unsubscribed to many youtubers because I just didn’t trust them anymore. They were constantly praising every companys’ items they’ve been sponsored by and the over consumerism was just too nauseating for me and I felt like I was just watching commercials. As soon as I don’t find someone authentic I click unsubscribe.
Thank you for honestly revealing your channel's purpose. It took me awhile to realize the connection between watching haul, diy, and decorating videos and my buying craft supplies and going to the thrift store frequently. I've unsubscribed influencers who continually share about their many sponsors.
Yes! Your intro talk. Even some of the more minimal people I watch and truly enjoy seem to be doing so many “commercials “ for products now. I’ve grown tired of constantly being sold something.
Most TH-camrs are after sponsorships and making money......you influence us to use our brains, and influence us to close the wallet!!!!!! So thank you for influencing us to make better decisions on how to use our money smarter.
I like to watch haul videos because it makes me feel better that I don’t spend my money like that anymore. People buy the most pointless things. If I do see something I might like, I put in on a list. After a month or so, I review it and then decide if it’s something I would still want. I did buy the hairdryer you use and I love it!! But it took me a long time to buy it. I waited a few months and then it conveniently went on sale at target. So I grabbed it and haven’t looked back! I love it!!!!
You influence me to think before I act when it comes to spending, but also have taught me how to budget and save money! I think you are a genuine person and truly do your research for all the info that you give us all. I can’t stand trying to watch some videos on TH-cam, because you can tell that that person isn’t being themselves. Give me real over fake any day. Thank you for being yourself and being honest. It’s rare.
Amanda I want to thank you for these kind words! I truly appreciate it. I have also seen so many people who just aren't themselves on TH-cam. People can see right through that. I like making silly jokes and having fun while delivering informative content from my real life experiences. Hugs to you ❤🤗
This is totally true, I almost signed up for a grocery service via subscription when I have a Whole Foods less than a mile away and already pay for Amazon prime so I can get delivery for free, just because one of the you-tubers I follow kept talking about it. I had to step back.
@@THEJENNIFERCOOK Hi ~ It was Thrive Market. They offer a lot of off the beaten path type of items, which really I don't even think anyone in our house besides me would eat. Huge variety and specialty types of food and other items but I totally could tell I got caught up.
@@THEJENNIFERCOOK Yes, that is the one. I live in a very suburban area. I have an Aldi, Whole Foods, three other big box stores. I had to stop, why would I pay to have access to another food store.
I TOTALLY agree with you on the portions in the meal kits. Ridiculously small portions for the money spent. I almost always had to add something to make a full meal. Once I got through the discounted periods I cancelled them - and I think I have done almost all!! But I too loved the recipes. So now I just go online and download. Most of these companies allow access to the recipes without being a delivery subscriber. I can't do the Always Pan since it's not oven safe. So much of my cooking I sear stove top and finish in the oven, so I'll stick with my All Clad and cast iron. And boy do I agree with you on holiday memories that are passed on, rather than something new every year. And birthdays - so over the top!!! Thoroughly enjoyed this post.
I just love this video Jennifer! You hit the nail on the head. Once I ordered a foundation with brush that was to help conceal my dark spots...did 👎 not work. I still have the brush though and use it. Lesson learned 😊
I am with you, I DO NOT like sponsored videos. I know people are trying to make a few extra dollars or even a livelihood through TH-cam but it aggravates me to no end and makes me feel as though I can no longer trust their judgement.
Influencers.... I never thought of things on the channels that I follow in those terms. But I do find myself being influenced, not necessarily by the things that are sponsors, but more by the things they use to accomplish tasks. For example, multi surface cleaners, I never heard of such a thing, when it was time to buy, I purchased Mrs. Meyers. I like it, it does everything from the bathroom mirror, kitchen counters to vinyl floors. Another thing I recently purchased, because I saw it on a channel was a microfiber scrub mop.... I know, I sound like a really dull person! I’m 74 and scrubbing the floors on my knees was getting too hard. (Actually getting up again was the hard part.). I bought an air fryer, not the expensive one I saw, but a much less expensive one, I live alone, I use it almost every day. Definitely a good purchase. Some really bad purchases were some tops I bought, the fabric was poor quality, and the fit was either too small or too big. I gave the small ones to my adult daughter, the too big ones.... will probably get donated. Just reminds me to not buy clothes that I can’t try on, or from a mfg that I don’t know, even if they look cute in the pictures. I enjoy your videos, I live on a budget, and truly appreciate the advice you give. You made me smile when you talked about the leather baby bag. My neice is 6 ft tall, when she was expecting her second baby I made her a diaper bag with lots of pockets and a long crossbody strap, so she could carry a toddler, baby and be hands free. She loved it. I’m 4’11”, I love standing next to her in family pictures, it’s really funny.
Hauls and decorating videos are tough because they definitely make me want stuff I don’t need (and don’t want or need to store). One thing I do on my channel now and again is a food “haul” but from shopping my fridge/freezer/pantry. I think it’s so important to show folks that it’s great and important to use what you have, be excited about it, save money and be environmentally responsible by not wasting food. Am I perfect...nope but it’s important for people to see that too (even if it’s only a few people...and one is my dad😂) Keep up the great work Jennifer!
I'm autistic, therefore I know that I don't share the "needs", interests and wishes others have, which actually saves me a lot of money. Back in March, we decided to bake our bread ourselves and we bought a Dutch oven for that. Honestly, I feared that would be a mistake, but actually I love the Dutch oven and use it every day, but that was the first time in years I bought something because I saw others using it
There is a cycle to it ! And it's targeting women .This is where is it a necessity comes in, a need or a want ! So I put the cost in my savings account ,plus shipping and handling .rather have money in the bank than clutter .🦋
You address an important topic: I am paying for ad-free TH-cam and now get bombarded with sponsorships and products. I want TH-camrs to do well, but I have to review some subscriptions. So trust is a really important thing.
I have no problem with anybody on TH-cam having a patron page or tip jar. If their channel is their job and how they make their living, then that makes total sense to me. They're not forcing or requiring anyone to give them money in order to watch their channel. If people are so inspired by their content they they want to give them money, more power to them. I have a couple of musician friends who regularly give free concerts on Facebook. They have tip jars available for those who want to and are able to tip them, but they still play even if nobody tips them.
Just an FYI: I needed a new nonstick skillet, so I bought the Always Pan from your video today. Yesterday I put it in my shopping cart and tried out some of the Promo Codes I found on the internet. None of them worked. This morning when I checked my email the company sent me a promo code for $30 off! So, if you're in need of a new nonstick skillet try that. You may get a coupon code too!!!
I agree about keeping your decorations year to year and maybe adding a piece or too it I absolutely LOVE it. But truthfully my favourite decorations on our tree are the ones the kids make 😃 As for bday parties...I used to go crazy but now I keep it simple and you know what...my kids have more fun!
I love watching hoarders-videos. Not because of the problems of the people, it's a sad desease. But because they stimulate me to cleaning and decluttering. I mostly hate the videos that stimulate overbuying. The last time I saw a girl buying so many clothes, I thought she would never use them all. And then probably throw away most of it after one season.
I can't stand the hoarders-videos because they make me a nervous wreck! I have to have everything neat and clean and can't even wrap my mind around how people live that way!!
@@Joyce-id3dr no, you don't need to make a museum of your house. But sometimes some cleaning and a critical look to your stuff will do the thing. It's about living in a healthy home that works for you.
yes I watch a channel of a couple who sponsor a product every video and they show 3 or 4 videos per week. They are building a home in the mountains and are paying for that through Utube work and sponsorships. I get tired of the sponsorships so I just fast forward through them. I have also stopped watching them often since I am tired of the sponsorships and building project.
Thank you for sharing I’m inspired to unsubscribe from this videos that live lavish lifestyles and are sponsored ,I’ve learned so much from you in a short period of time I greatly appreciate the work you put into them and your honest god bless you.
Hi Mrs. Cook !!! At least she tried it and literally used it. That way she gives you a solid review which is better . also if you have questions on products she can give you answers based on her usage of it.
Thank you for this, i follow a mum of 9 who cooks huge loads of freezer meals, so i got a freezer and filled it. We went away and my 3 yr old turned it off b4 we left. Came back to hell in a frezzer! I didn't even realise i was doing this. Best from London, uk. X
I just discovered your channel...I had the opposite problem with a meal kit delivery service. I'm single and the smallest order I could place was 3 meals for 2 people. I ordered only every 2 weeks or so. I found each recipe was about 3 meals-worth for me. I don't always eat at home as I get invited to dinner by other people. Essentially, by the time I got to the third meal, the produce would be unusable and end up in the compost bin. Then I would have to go buy replacements in order to make the recipe. Although I don't necessarily consider it food waste if I compost it to grow other food, I did consider that service a waste of money because two of its claimed benefits are saving money and elimination of food waste. P.S. Thanks for the segment on the Always Pan. I've been intrigued by it but haven't bought it. I doubt I will since I already have the crockery I need but I'm glad that a real, non-sponsored person considers it a good buy.
Hi. I am new to your channel & I really find it interesting!!! Watched this one today & want you to know you influenced me to buy the hairstyles/dryer. 😃 I will let you know if it is a good purchase for me with my new style that takes a blow dryer & a round brush & I am just not that coordinated so if this works well, it will be amazing!! Thanks for sharing. Birthday parties astound me these days. I only had a few parties in my childhood but I remember them & the people that made them special. They just didn’t have the extravagance of today’s child parties. Keep up your great channel.
Thank you for this video. Many great points. Yes I have bought because of someones sponsors. Most times they were great buys. I do find myself skipping past much of the sponsored portions on videos. One thing I have issue with on some videos is the unbirthdays for the sibs of the birthday child. It is not their day. It makes it unspecial to have a birthday if you are always getting gifts.
I like how you are passionate about the videos, and only the things you no rather than things you do not know. I like the honesty, and you only promote products or other things that you like and how you tell us that we have to make our own decisions on what we do or what we try! I love your videos! Stay awesome and may the Lord Jesus Christ bless you multiply
My grandma made all of the grandkids ornaments for 13 years then gave them to us on our 13th birthday. Those, plus a few others gifted to me are the only ornaments I use. I stick them on my wall in the shape of a tree instead of having a tree because I have cats, trees are expensive and I'd have nowhere to put it. I had my first birthday cake when I was 21 because my neighbor friend through me my first actual party. Usually I'd go out to eat with my family and a few friends at a restaurant that was a little fancier than one we'd normally go to, like Red Lobster. When I was little the most fun thing I did on my birthday was build a couch fort out of the cushions and hang out in it all day.
Jennifer, your honesty is sooo appreciated. I discovered you, have binge-watched you, and relate to much that you say. You inspire me to do even more to de-clutter and save $. BTW - my hubbie and I will be able to pay off our mortgage next month - so exciting. I'm a fan of Dave Ramsey, and Jeff? Yeager (Retiring the Cheapskate Way - book). You're so refreshing - thanks for what you do!
No one has said it better than you. In fact I don't think anyone else is even talking about this "now a days" situation. Anyway, I'm not sure how I stumbled across your frugal tips ( and I LOVE those videos) but I value and am subscribing.
I'm not a parent, so I've never had to worry about getting caught up in the birthday party competitions, but my favorite birthday parties as a little girl were: a slumber party with my best friends (with junk food, pizza, listening to music and watching TV till all hours); going to the local ice skating rink; and for my 10th birthday going to the local "tea room" for a real life tea party with a handful of friends and young cousins. Baskin Robbins ice cream cakes were about the only thing that almost every parent HAD to have at their party, other than that the parties were pretty generic -- cheap paper decorations, Dollar Store type party favors, hot dogs, punch, cake, a few games, and opening the presents. The tea party was the fanciest party I remember having. I can't even IMAGINE the kind of pressure parents feel now to have the biggest and best birthday party.
I love this video. This is so true. Thank youJennifer. as a new viewer this is the kind of content I need. We are on the Financial peace plan also and I am currently decluttering my home a little at a time. As a almost 50 year old, I would love to know if any of your viewers use the Seint beauty make up. That is one thing that I have looked at but most of the people who use it look as if a filter has been added.
I never have done the on line food boxes too expensive people dont realize you are paying for that even with a discount i get stuff on sale half price sometimes and freeze and put together meals good channel you have
Haha I got myself one for Mother’s Day lol 😂 a huge purchase for me but I needed a new pan. I am trying to be more intentional when I replace things in my house. I’m nervous spending $200 on a pan (on sale...I live in Canada) but I’ve heard such good things about it and with 4 kids I am always in the kitchen lol 😂 btw I got the blue one too...fav colour 🥰
At least they are now LABELED “influencers” ... I have purchased things of value to me like when my pressure cooker died and I got the Instant Pot! Love it!!! But I am really aware. Thanks for your very helpful videos.
A tricky thing about influnece is that Everything talks one out of their money. I feel that I only noticed as a adult that I was spending because I myself wanted it not because MTV put that idea in my head. But I enjoy peoples skill at perswasion but Sometimes I dont even notice I did that. I was a big fan of CNBC and CNN Saturdays when I had Cabe. CNNs the Clark Howard Show talked me into a lot of Clark Howard books. And the only think I enjoyed about them was that I owned a copy of Clark Howards words but couldnt apply any of its information to my life. But my favorite advice from him tat did help was when he first told viewers about this awesome person Anna Knewell Jones and her Debt dree living story. CNBC's Suze Orman was a fun show but again I bought her books and not one had information I could use. CNBC had a show Tell Debt Do Us Part by host Gail Vaz Oxlade. But in this case, I enjoyed and use her books she sold.
I don't mind sponsored videos if I know, understand the person is sponsoring them and or it is obvious they love the item they are sponsoring. I follow one couple that is always sponsored by something. They are the (healthy) types and drink strange green healthy drinks ...uuuggghhhh! but I love their channel. I have children older than they are but I enjoy watching their adventures. Our Birthday parties include homemade ice cream and a special dessert with the whole family. It is a big family party get together. We celebrate once a month and celebrate the special day of our family members. A tradition like the Christmas decorating tradition you mentioned.
Thank you for talking about the truth. I unfollowed a local girl who would do makeup tutorial once she grew her channel and Instagram ( I think she has over a million followers now on insta) she didn’t post as often and when she did she was always just showing her merch. Not even makeup related anymore so yeah I unfollowed I felt she was just tying to sell. P. S. looooovvvvveeee the revlon dryer/brush 😍
Besides your channel (that I just recently discovered and absolutely LOVE), I mostly watch TH-cam channels that focus on travel, van or nomadic life, being self-sufficient, and more recently channels that focus on certain areas of the country to which my husband and I are interested in retiring. The travel and van life channels are the ones (out of those) with the most sponsorships. I'm at an age where I'm no longer easily influenced to buy things like that. If I'm in the market for something, and it's sponsoring a channel I like, I'll go on the Internet and read other user reviews to get a more well-rounded idea of other people's experiences of it before buying (as well as checking out the competition). But I do appreciate honest reviews by those channels I watch. And one particular travel couple performs the most HILARIOUSLY funny and creative commercials for the products that are sponsoring them that I actually look forward to watching them plug those products! Out of all the products that have been sponsored over the past several years by the channels I watch, I have actually purchased only three of them -- and I've liked and used all three regularly.
@@THEJENNIFERCOOK My current favorite nomad channels are Elsa Rhae & Barron, Off-Grid Backcountry, and RV Cheap Living. They are all three very different in their presentation styles, but still very engaging, informative, honest, and likeable. Off-Grid Backcountry is less van, though, and more tent and truck camping. I've also heard wonderful things about Eamon and Bec, but haven't started watching them yet.
Thank you so much Karen! There are so many great channels out there and often unless TH-cam suggests them you never know. I am excited to check these out. Thank you so much for sharing!
@@THEJENNIFERCOOK One more note on Off-Grid Backcountry -- some of his focus currently is split between the nomad part of his life and a piece of property he recently bought in Arizona. The property is going to be mostly for camping, though, and a place for him to retreat to when he needs a "home base."
I had no idea that "influencers" used some of these tactics. It's all about easy money, I guess. What happened to working a real job, providing a service or producing something that is essential to society? Doesn't anyone want to work any more? Thank you for being honest with your channel.
Your channel is very helpful and informative. If you were to share a product, I feel that your opinion would be genuine. Thank you for all the great tips!
I love my Spanx leggings too. But I do agree with the overall message of this video; just becuase a youtuber recommends something or shows a haul, it doesn't mean the product is good or you need any of those things. I do believe in personal accountability and if you buy something and are not happy, return it!
Thanks for telling about all of these. Your hair does look great. I really have been tempted to buy the Always pan but mine aren’t old so it seems wasteful.
I just stopped following a couple of people who were constantly doing sponsored videos, pushing products, doing hauls, etc. It was exhausting and just screamed of trying to make a buck. Same thing with those who vlog everything in their life. LIVE people, don't live to video your life.
In Italy the Ferragnis are our Kardashians, but over the last 5 years the circus of influencers has increased. As you say, they display their lavish b-day parties, their multiple holidays, their meals at restaurants, their walk in closets, their home tours...and boxes of stuff they keep receiving everyday as "gifted" or "sponsored" . I used not to realize the flow of money around that until the pandemic forced me home and I had time to reflect. Now I am not following any of them, and honestly I find it disgusting both towards their followers (often teenagers and young women who take them as examples), and towards the environment.
True story. A friend of mine walked into a bar wearing a pair of faux leather leggings and her friend yelled....OMG...where did they find a cow big enough to make those pants!!!
I fell for the Always pan ads. Sorry to say but after 4 months, I asked for and received my money back. Over time, it wasn’t non-stick and the bottom discolored badly.
I agree, Debra!!!

Me too!! Love this channel 💕 Thank you Jennifer!!
Wow... Jennifer... you know what?
Thank you so much Ruth! Your kind words mean a lot.
Same. I love splurging on good food and trying new cuisines. Aside from that, im pretty much a penny pincher on all other things 😅
❤

Yep that is what my kids remember too!!
Great video! We are constantly being bombarded with ads to buy stuff. We have to learn to be more discerning.
This is such a good video. You come across as a trustworthy person always. Thank you.
Great job!!
Alexandra thank you for saying that!
My husband got that exact pan from our kids for Christmas and we LOVE it!!!
You know, I must be missing something about Skillshare, because you can learn how to do anything by watching TH-cam videos...for free!
🤗
Years ago as a new mom, I hosted a little birthday party for one of my sons. One of the guests (he was probably only 7 or 8) asked, "where are the treat bags?" I had no idea that treat bags were expected at birthday parties.
Wow! I'm shocked a kid asked.
My treat bags were a take home cupcake - made them myself, cheap way to send the guests home with a treat without spending money on stupid junk toys.
🤗
I like to watch haul videos because it makes me feel better that I don’t spend my money like that anymore. People buy the most pointless things. If I do see something I might like, I put in on a list. After a month or so, I review it and then decide if it’s something I would still want. I did buy the hairdryer you use and I love it!! But it took me a long time to buy it. I waited a few months and then it conveniently went on sale at target. So I grabbed it and haven’t looked back! I love it!!!!
Danielle you have patience and shop intentionally! Great attributes! 🤗❤
Hugs to you ❤🤗
Sometimes I fast forward threw the sales pitch. I agree 100% with those meals.
This is totally true, I almost signed up for a grocery service via subscription when I have a Whole Foods less than a mile away and already pay for Amazon prime so I can get delivery for free, just because one of the you-tubers I follow kept talking about it. I had to step back.
Kim, that must be a new one I haven't seen before.
@@THEJENNIFERCOOK Hi ~ It was Thrive Market. They offer a lot of off the beaten path type of items, which really I don't even think anyone in our house besides me would eat. Huge variety and specialty types of food and other items but I totally could tell I got caught up.
Oh yeah! Is that the one where you can't see either the products, prices or both unless you sign up for the free trial?
@@THEJENNIFERCOOK Yes, that is the one. I live in a very suburban area. I have an Aldi, Whole Foods, three other big box stores. I had to stop, why would I pay to have access to another food store.
It seems some of my favorite channels are being sponsored by thrive market ALL THE TIME😳
I TOTALLY agree with you on the portions in the meal kits.
Am I perfect...nope but it’s important for people to see that too (even if it’s only a few people...and one is my dad😂)
Keep up the great work Jennifer!
Thank u I really appreciate your view... and also wish more people would stop selling on every video
You are so well spoken❤️ and so wise ! I dont think anyone could have explained it better!
Nothing wrong with sponsorship on a product you love at all! What turns me off is patron page or tip jar
Agreed
Or skill share sigh thats annoying
Tiffany I completely agree!
Yes! I SO agree. It even motivates my organizationally challenged husband 😆
@@Picca65 My home is not a museum, well lived in but clean.
@@Joyce-id3dr i like that 👌
yes I watch a channel of a couple who sponsor a product every video and they show 3 or 4 videos per week. They are building a home in the mountains and are paying for that through Utube work and sponsorships. I get tired of the sponsorships so I just fast forward through them. I have also stopped watching them often since I am tired of the sponsorships and building project.
I think I follow or did follow the same couple and I agree. If it feels like I am at a used car lot then I don't want to watch.
Amen to everything you have share . may God bless you and give you more wisdom 👏🏽👏🏽👦
Great content. Thank you for helping me to understand the influencers.
Thank you for sharing I’m inspired to unsubscribe from this videos that live lavish lifestyles and are sponsored ,I’ve learned so much from you in a short period of time I greatly appreciate the work you put into them and your honest god bless you.
Beatrice thank you so much for those kind words! 🤗❤
Hi Mrs.
Congratulations on your 20k!
Thank you so much! ❤🤗
Such great awareness advice, Jennifer. Good on you, for your advice and your integrity. 👍😊
Thank you Linda!
Congrats on reaching 20k subscribers!😊💖🙏👏👏👏👏
I like how you are passionate about the videos, and only the things you no rather than things you do not know. I like the honesty, and you only promote products or other things that you like and how you tell us that we have to make our own decisions on what we do or what we try! I love your videos! Stay awesome and may the Lord Jesus Christ bless you multiply
Marino thank you for those kind words!
I bought the blow dryer a couple years ago because I was influenced and I highly recommend it. I wish I would have had one when I was younger.
Betty thank you so much for the kind words! I am so excited for you paying off your house. People say it is an amazing feeling. Congratulations!!!
Subscribed! I'm gonna start binging. 😊
Thank you Amy! I do the same when I find a new interesting TH-cam channel.
No one has said it better than you. In fact I don't think anyone else is even talking about this "now a days" situation. Anyway, I'm not sure how I stumbled across your frugal tips ( and I LOVE those videos) but I value and am subscribing.
Thank you so much Susan! 🤗❤
I do love the spanks faux leather leggings!!!!! I wear them all the time
I love this video.
Thank you Kisha! I haven't heard of that beauty brand.
I will definitely be looking for an update video on how that always pan holds up in the coming months... 😂❤👀 Thanks!
I never have done the on line food boxes too expensive people dont realize you are paying for that even with a discount i get stuff on sale half price sometimes and freeze and put together meals good channel you have
Whew! I just purchased the always pan and I’m waiting for it. So glad you like it.
I do like it a lot!
Loved this video. So true.
Jennifer, for me you are an influencer! You influence me to be wise with my money ;) Thank you.
Lisa thank you! If I can influence others in a good way I'll take it!
I own the same leggings & they are the best pants that I've ever owned. I look amazing in them ☺️.
You are definitely an influencer❣Just a different kind. You influence me to look into paying my home faster, be frugal, minimal and practical🥰TY
Thank you so much! ❤🤗
@@THEJENNIFERCOOK always humble💕I love that...you are very welcome🥰
🤗
I purchased the revlon hair blower about a month ago. I really like it. It is heavy and makes my arm tired. But it does a great job.
🤗
congrats on 20k subscribers. love your videos.
Beth thank you so much!!! I hope you have a wonderful weekend! 🤗❤
Karen what are some of the van and nomadic life channels you like? I am always looking for another interesting person to follow.
@@THEJENNIFERCOOK You're very welcome - glad I could help!
I think the birthday parties are more a competition between moms than about the kiddos
👏👏👏👏
agreed
I had no idea that "influencers" used some of these tactics. It's all about easy money, I guess. What happened to working a real job, providing a service or producing something that is essential to society? Doesn't anyone want to work any more? Thank you for being honest with your channel.
Your channel is very helpful and informative. If you were to share a product, I feel that your opinion would be genuine. Thank you for all the great tips!
I love your channel.
I bought the Spanx faux leather from Nordys too! They went right back! :)
I’ve been close to buying because of a TH-cam recommendation, but really glad I haven’t.
I love the Spanx leggings, they do look great, leather mostly look cheap, these looks great, and hug you!
Thank you Denise!
Earlier this week, I ordered the sheets you talked about on Amazon a while back. I am looking forward to trying them out 😀
Laura I love those sheets! We have had them about 18 mths now and they just get softer.
I just stopped following a couple of people who were constantly doing sponsored videos, pushing products, doing hauls, etc. It was exhausting and just screamed of trying to make a buck. Same thing with those who vlog everything in their life. LIVE people, don't live to video your life.
Great points.....👍👍👍
Awesome video ❤️
That was not a friend who yelled... or shouldn't be any more, after that.
Shame on her friend.
I ordered the sheets you recommended.. love them so far.
Nina I am so glad you like them!
Enjoy your channel. Good thoughts and ideas.
Thank you Caron!
I so agree!! All those Dollar tree hauls, NO THANK YOU. You are my twin ,LOL. Its all just STUFF.. Wastefull spending!
Thank you Kim!
I fell for the Always pan ads. Sorry to say but after 4 months, I asked for and received my money back. Over time, it wasn’t non-stick and the bottom discolored badly.
Thank you for the info regarding your experience with the Always Pan.
The pan link? I’m minimalistic and that may be my one pan.
