    Hey coach Jason this stand up is amazing thank you my bottom and top i got from you. But question what they change sides to chop, spiral ride, or claw ride would that shut down this stand up.

    Fantastic not having to compromise your base and being able to keep 2 points of contact on the ground. I will be using this for BJJ.

      Are they able to lock their hands around your waist? They should not be able to if you box them out correctly.

    Great technique, does this work with putting back pressure on the initial pivot? Also, after reading comments on the cradle would securing finger control initially prevent any cradle attempt until the back is straight and you’re knee sliding?

    Hi coach! Any suggestions on stretches to improve your ability to position your feet like this? My 10 year old son can do it, but it looks a bit uncomfortable for him. I think it's a lot more solid, though. Thanks for your help.

    • @WrestlingTournamentsDotCom

      A lot of wrestlers struggle with the stretch, it is uncomfortable for me as well. I think just being hin the position a lot will help.

    Wrestling coach here from Arkansas. I cannot achieve the stretch you we're referring to. What ive had to do is modify my starting position on bottom by flattening one foot out sideways and having the other foot underneath me with laces facing downward. Would this be an issue if all the other details stay the same?

    • @WrestlingTournamentsDotCom
      @WrestlingTournamentsDotCom  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi coach, body types are different. The most important thing is that you can find a stable position from which to maintain your base (and to recover to if your position is broken). There is nothing more important on the bottom than developing a stable base, you'll have to figure out a way that works for you (and each of your athletes).

    Is as effective if you step up with your outside leg?

    • @WrestlingTournamentsDotCom
      @WrestlingTournamentsDotCom  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’d just say it is a different movement, with a different set of details. Both inside and outside leg stand ups can be effective. I prefer inside, but many good wrestlers like the outside leg standup.

    How to get cradled 101.

    • @WrestlingTournamentsDotCom
      @WrestlingTournamentsDotCom  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The arms are shields, you won't get cradled once you're good at it and aware of your opponents options.

    • @jasonwright8370
      @jasonwright8370 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Bottom man's position is too strong with his shoulder and knee stacked like it is. If the top man reached under the left leg to try to get a cradle, the bottom man could just power up to standing or if was savvy, he could grab the wrist with his right hand and just sit down, putting him on his back.
