When I first heard this song, I bawled my eyes out because I remembered vividly how I lost the person I thought was my best friend at one point in my life. But then they got in a relationship and just abandoned our friendship.
One of the thing that always hits me about his music is it’s often about the part of the healing process we don’t always express. That grey area between feeling horrible and being ok is one of the hardest in my opinion. The shock of the pain is gone, and the weird numb of moving on starts to take over. His music expresses that and I appreciate it.
