  • They look similar to each other, but wanted to show some minor differences to tell very early year rifles apart.

I would like to know the date of manufacture of the Sheridan I inherited from my grandfather. He had it in the early 60s. He may have bought it in 1958 but I don't know how to accurately date it. Black finsh, straight bolt,45° seat, no O-ring, thumb safety.curved butt, slim fore end.

I have my grandfather's model C, thumb safety, crescent cut stock, oil port on the right side of the bolt boss, narrow trigger guard, straight bolt handle, not nickel plated. It doesn't say BLUE STREAK, but Sheridan products Racine Wis. Made in USA. I think he bought it in 1958. Can you give me any varification?

Tom..... Thanks for taking a look at the video & the question. The crescent cut stock replaced the straight stock in 1955. "Blue Streak" wasn't embossed onto the rifle until 1960. Go into Google and type "Sheridan dates of manufacture" and select the Wikipedia page. This should narrow the year of manufacture for you. It sounds like a late 50's rifle. Very nice. 🙂

I recently acquired o e that also says Racine, Wis- Made in the USA, mine doesn't mention silver streak on it. Mine is a brass or copper color but I'm not sure if that's how they came? I was wondering ifvyou could tell me which series of Sheridan this is?

jerryees... Sheridan made the Silver Streak and the Blue Streak. The latter started production in 1952 whereas the Silver Streak started in 1949 with the Model A. All silver streaks to my knowledge were marked as such as well as the Blue Streaks. The Blue streaks had a black coated coloration and its not uncommon for the finish to wear away over the years or folks have even stripped it to the brass base and polished that up. I would think you would see some black coloration on the rifle somewhere, usually between the pump tube and the barrel. The rifle should have some "Sheridan Products" marking on it above the Racine, Wis location typically. Benjamin was also producing guns with the black over brass, but you would see "Benjamin Franklin" marked on the gun for the earlier ones anyway. Search TH-cam Sherridan Blue Streak if you haven't already. many videos as I recall. 🙂

I just inherited a silver streak very similar to the 52 you showed. Is there a serial # somewhere? I’m trying to find out what year mine is.

If I recall correctly, Sheridan serial numbers didn't start until 1972. So, if your rifle is earlier than that, features it is equipped with is how to narrow it down its manufacture. 👍

Thanks! Mine has the pressable thumb safety so that narrows it down, and the sights does not have the knurled screws you talked about. I’m really jazz to find out this rifle is old and in pretty good shape. Just ordered some pellets so I’ll test it out soon. Thanks again for the info!

I’ve been trying too age my blue streak it’s got no serial number a rocker type safety and roll pins holding the pump handle on and straight stock the rear sight is adjustable but only with screws..
Thanks for sharing your video on the Sheridan’s range of air rifles I’ve had mine from childhood am now 55 lol….

An early 50's Silver sold recently on eBay for $249.97 plus $39 shipping. You can check the sold listings to see if there are any others or that listing to see if it compares to yours.
