Order 65 wasn't just a distraction to excuse order 66. It was also Palpatine's backup plan if he lost his power play for chancellor against Valorum.
He was always prepared
"Have you ever heard of the legend of Darth plagues the wise?"
"...how do you know a sith legend?"
"...."
I agree, it would be good for a bag of plan if you lost his rank as chancellor
@@lottieparish1715 "bag of plan"? Nice to see I'm not the only person who over trusts voice to text.😁

Excellent video nearly perfect. Only gripe is it should have been Thire not Thorn, as Commander Thorn died on Scipio a few months prior to Revenge of the Sith, but Thire he was on Coruscant and he actually shows up in Revenge of the Sith after the fight between Sidious and Yoda. That said perfect otherwise apart from that minor inconsistanty, the real question is what happens in the aftermath of the fight for the Republic in the long run, as there are a LOT of things that need to be addressed with Sidious dead in terms of corruption that needs to be addressed along with well what to do with the Clones, peace terms with the CIS, also there is a LOT of crime that needs to be wiped out as even with Maul imprisoned his followers are still out there and you of course have the Hutts, the Pykes the Black Sun and other crime syndicates that are causing issues.
That said any timeline in which Sidious is killed before he can do lasting damage is a good one. Because I'm happy he's dead, also Rex killing him? Poetic justice if ever there was one and the follow up line of "That's for Fives" perfection.
Agreed, but I think it would actually be pretty easy to clean up after Palpatine. He had essentially rigged the whole system to collapse and allow for rebuilding when he made the call. On one hand, the Republic was reliant on him to hold itself up. On the other, without him, power returns to the Senate and separatists, and there's no one to suppress the voices crying for peace. I think Palpatine's efforts to mold and change the Republic into his own personal empire might actually make for an easy transition into a new Galactic Republic. Since Palps had a hand in every bit of senatorial corruption, you could feasibly retrace his steps or follow his transmissions and close circles to root out most of the biggest destabilizing forces in the Republic, stripping them of the power Sheev vested in them over his decade and a half long tenure
Matter of fact, with him being dead, there's every chance the Jedi have a new priority mission: tracking the actions of the Chancellor throughout his career as both leader of the Republic and leader of the CiS. Following through would essentially leave them at square one if it went well, not necessarily a purely just society, but at least free of the corruption of the last few generations of Sith. They'd be MUCH better off than the New Republic in canon. Those poor dudes had to rebuild the entire Republic almost from scratch and undo decades of indoctrination to the empire. This theoretical new Republic has a lot less to deal with, and they have the clones and the Jedi to help them achieve it. Hell, if they play it right, they could even rope the separatists in with some clever agreements.

Any story that ends with Rex avenging Fives and all of his fallen brothers is a great story.
It is easy to loose track of situational awareness in the middle of a fight. Especially since the sith channel strong emotion, even more-so when using dark side force attacks such as sith lightning, it is quite possible that Palpatine failed to notice.

@@RFDN0 Hmm. Well said.

I've been thinking about this a lot recently, but shouldn't Disney create a Star Wars 'What If...?' series like they did with the Marvel 'What If...?' series? Stories like this one would be pretty cool when they're animated, and I'm pretty sure that people would enjoy them.
I love this idea! Actually, I believe they have already done this, with episodes VII - IX. 😂😂
I am still waiting for Disney to give me a trilogy that actually concludes the Skywalker saga, and makes sense, canonically.
“What if?” was a great comic series, and the MCU version was great as well. There are so many points in the Star Wars saga where things could go another way - some for the better, some for worse. Such as:
. Luke missing the one-in-a-million shot, to destroy the Death Star;
. The imperial gunner destroying the escape pod with R2 and Threepio on board;
. Luke saving the lives of his aunt and uncle;
. Obi-Wan hiring a different pilot in Mos Eisley;
. Greedo shooting first, and killing Han;
. Obi-Wan failing to deactivate the tractor beam;
. Obi-Wan defeating Vader on the Death Star;
. Biggs surviving the assault on the Death Star;
. Someone else destroying the Death Star;
. Somehow saving Alderaan;
. Luke and Obi-Wan combining and defeating Vader;
. Turning Vader back to the light on the Death Star - “Anakin, this is your son, Luke. Your daughter is over there, with your 3PO unit, and your R2 unit”.
And so on. And this is all just in A New Hope!
Cheers,
Oh, one more thing, which has been bugging me lately: Obi-Wan knows Jango Fett is the template for the clone troopers. He also saw Jango Fett fighting, and dying, for Count Dooku on Geonosia - not to mention that he should know Jango was responsible for the attempted assassination of Padme. Why didn’t Obi-Wan suspect that something was amiss with the clone army at that point?

Funny suggestion: Palpy executes Order 65 by mistake by confusing it with Order 66.
Man, he's such a goof.
Anakin: Execute 65.
Fox: *exhilarated* YES SIR!
Edit: Thorn goes out like a boss in every continuity.
I honestly think that Order 65 is one of those contingency orders that exists purely for the Senate to look at it and say, "well, that all makes sense." I don't think it was ever actually something that the Clones were taught to do. They were made because of the Sith, and I heavily doubt that Palpatine would let that one slide by, even if it would just be an inconvenience for him.
The Clones were created and taught as an army for the Jedi, by third party. Kamino was not in direct control of the Sith. There was no need for them to treat these two orders differently... If anything, order 66 was more questionable as it let their client destroy itself. If someone gave order 65 in meaningful way, it would be executed as clones would definitely be trained to do so.
Well, there's always the chance that a Jedi or someone else could've actually become the chancellor and Palpatine just wanted a way to screw anyone that wasn't him in power.
Do the clones need to be explicitly taught something that's hard wired* in a chip in their brain?
(*Metaphorically hard-wired; I know it's an organic chip, which already doesn't make much sense so don't think too hard about literal hard wires...)
@@theprinceofinadequatelighting You're right, apologies. My take was from the old canon.
Except it was Darth Plagueis and not Palpatine who was the mastermind behind the Clones being built and it was he who give the codes to be programmed in through Dooku. Plagueis was grooming Dooku to be his Apprentice and it would totally make sense he would have made a plan to get rid of his Apprentice who had political authority over him. Plagueis had the wealth and influence were behind the scenes he could have bribed enough Senators to his side to actually initiate the order. I fully believe that was Plagueis' long game to have Palpatine be seen as power hungry where the only possibly way to get rid of him was through Order 65. Again most of Palpatine's successes in the Prequels are him running plays out of Plagueis' playbook and we see what happens to him and how long his Empire lasts when when his Coach isn't there making the plays. It's kinda like how successful or lack of success the Detroit Red Wings are minus Scotty Bowman. Plagueis was the Scotty Bowman to Palpatine's Steve Yzerman
What If Qui-Gon Jinn's ghost trained Luke SkyWalker
What If Obi-Wan saved Anakin on MustaFar before he burned assuming Kenobi only cut off both of Vader's arms and not his legs
What If Dooku was elected Chancellor instead of Palpatine
What If the Jedi joined the Separatists
What if you only gave one scenario? Lol jk.
2nd scenario is the best imo
We gonna get samuel Jackson running the entire shows. It's not gonna be on Disney that's for sure. 😂
The 150 Orders were all very well known to the Senate and Jedi. The whole reason they exist is for the other 149 to mask Order 66, with Order 65 being the greatest mask as it makes it seem like they are just making every contingency plan they might need. Palpatine was incredibly clever like this, making his plan right under everyone’s nose and hidden in plain sight.
The Senate and Jedi didn’t know, however, that the inhibitor chips enforced the 150 Orders if ever executed. Clones could not disobey the Order(s). Nobody except a very select few and the Kaminoans knew of the chips.
😮

What if Padme, in Revenge of the Sith, comes to Palpatine's office and tries to convince Anakin that Palpatine will not save her life after all the assassinations before he can kill Windu?
What if Anakin discovers, before the Clone Wars break out, that Padme has abilities in the Force and trains her secretly or as his Padawan?
What if Padme had only been a few weeks pregnant?
What if Obi-Wan and Sabe had fallen in love and Obi-Wan learned of Anakin's marriage as a result?
What if Anakin had saved his mother using Force healing without knowing about this ability beforehand?
What if, while Anakin and Obi-Wan are at war, Padme tries to find out if Palpatine is corrupt, develops a very close relationship with him, and later offers to shadow him in Anakin's place and shares her findings directly with Anakin?
What if Shmi never remarried and survives and tells Anakin in Attack of the Clones that Dooku is his father, whereupon Padme and Anakin try to get him back on their side?
What if Dooku was just a separatist and apprentice to Sidious without becoming an assassin, and Sidious went through with everything (like the assassinations of Padme) on his own?

I have some suggestions:
1) What if the full potential+ Anakin that we see in Ahsoka as keeper of the World Between Worlds decided to go back to the beginning of Revenge of the Sith events and taking over his own past body but with all the knowledge and power he has now? Maybe he saw Palpatine surviving up to Episode 9 and decided he should do this. Its also possible that from his balanced perspective he sees that Order 66 is necessary to shake up the stagnant Jedi Order and corrupt Republic but a Sith Galactic Empire lasting 20 years whose defeat didnt even fully restored the Republic isnt. It would be so cool to see Anakin join Padme as the leader of this early new rebel alliance and defeat Sidious for good. An important data to consider, according to Imperial Law the one true power the Imperial Senate held was to crown the new Emperor should Palpatine die, this never happened because Palpatine dissolved the Senate with the Death Star complete, which broke the chain of command and led to a fractured New Republic. Here if he is defeated quickly enough the Senate can crown a new emperor who can then dissolve the Empire back into the Republic without having splintered factions like the First Order. But these are just my ideas I leave the story up to you the central premise is: Ahsoka's show Anakin goes back to his early ROTS body with the knowledge, wisdom and power he now has.
2) Same as before but this time rather than going personally he instead appears to end of Clone Wars Ahsoka. He will finish her training and she will do the job of the Chosen One being trained in both light and dark and lead an early rebellion to defeat Sidious. Remember Ahsoka has the life force of the Daughter and with WBW Anakin as her master she could certainly grow to defeat Sidious. When she is ready Anakin could even direct her to Bath on the Pool of Knowledge and Font of power, but because of Anakin overseeing the process and Ahsoka already having the Daughter's life and her training, she will not twist like Abeloth, but become a being of balance, ready to lay the smackdown on Sidious and lead the rebel seemingly impossible assault on Coruscant. Makes way more sense than Rey anyway.
3) What if Darth Tenebrous took Anakin's body? This was actually Tenebrous's ultimate plan and I have never seen a WI on it. He just failed because when he entered Plagueis's body he saw a futufe vision of Plagueis being killed by Palpatine, assumed he would never get to meet the Chosen One and panicked shooting himself out of Plagueis prematurely and getting trapped in a time loop. So, what if he didnt panicked and waited until the time Plageuis atually saw Anakin in the distance and shot himself at him? Plagueis's possession was not Essence Transfer, it was more insidious, moving his midichlorians (who he modified into "maxchlorians") like a virus. So rather than taking over Anakin by force like in your Plagueis video, he starts by increasing Anakin's power when he use the darkside and allows Sidious to do the heavy lifting forming his Empire, Anakin is way more powerful during the assault on the temple and Mustafar using, to the worry of Sidious, powers only advanced Sith can use like lighting. Then finally on Mustafar he hears a whisper telling him to open himself to the darkside fully so he can finally save Padme, Anankin does believing it to be his own darkside and Tebebrous finally takes him over.
4) What if Maul rather than sulking or just limiting himself to the underworld after the formation of the Galactic Empire spent his time training, went to Dathomir to learn from the Nightsisters (his potential was greater than Talzin) and he finally one day he shows up to overthrow Sidious?
5) What if after defeating Anakin, Obi-Wan realizing where he was reactivated the Droid Army on Mustafar but making it fully loyal to the Jedi like the Clones are loyal to Sidious? The Clone Wars continue with the Jedi remaining joining the seppies now without the influence of the Sith or the corrupt corporate council. Now Palpatine is in trouble because he has no puppet leading them and has been blocked from the command codes by Kenobi. And unlike Dooku the Jedi will not gimp the droid army's potential, like the fact it takes minutes to fabricate droids as opposed to years or months to train a clone or conscript. Leaders like Mon Mothma and Bail could also join on the condition that rather than secede they will restore the Republic on more fair terms, the Separatist Senate agrees.
6) What if rather than destroying it, Vader used Momin's portal to regain his uninjured body like Momin himself did?
I like #6, that sounds interesting.

That story really has me wishing Star Wars had a multiverse so we could see Star Wars movies where Anakin never turned to the Dark Side and perhaps fought alongside his Jedi children. It would have been interesting to hear the council's reaction to Anakin's secret marriage. Were the rules changed for all? Or just for him?
Same. There's so much potential.
Don't give disney any ideas. The ability to destroy a franchise is nothing compared to the power of the multiverse.

If order 65 was executed, could Palpatine still have executed order 66 after that?
No, because order 65 implies Palpatine betrayed the Republic. So after order 65 is issued and in effect, he's no longer considered to have authority within the Republic
@@MartinNLauensteinif he meant the order as a joke, would the clones see it as a joke?

Chances for a true shades of grey story between jedi and sith....
Execute Order.. sixty???? Five... wait no no no.
Great story! Very entertaining. I always love stories where Anakin goes the different route, and we see what would’ve happened if order 66 was not given. A couple things though, I’m not sure Sidious would have waited after Anakin knew the truth and left him. Yes, there was a period of time where Anakin left the office to the Jedi Temple, but, the whole communication to for codes, etc. I’m not sure if there was time for that… Also resolution of him and Padmes relationship behind the Jedis back… that needed to be in there. I do love the vindication of fives with Rex. That was awesome! Oh, and one more thing, I think what a lot of people miss, is that the visions of Padme dying or being put in Anakin‘s head by Sidious…. I can’t remember where I saw that or read that, but it’s all one big manipulation. So once he died danger of her death, and even the visions go away…
Here's an idea: What if Anakin told Padmè what Palpatine told him about Darth Plagues?
What if Jar Jar Binks was given a .44 magnum
Palpatine's pretty lucky a clone trooper didn't malfunction and prematurely execute Order 65.
Wow just wow I’m blown away
"I must say, I'm not sure if it was the way you told the story or because I know the real story so well, but there was a time in this video when I was at the edge of my seat. The suspense and the emotions were all there. I love it! I would have loved to see a live-action version. The humility on Master Mace Windu's face at the end, the look of real fear on Chancellor Palpatine's face, and finally, the conflict of Anakin because he displays them so well in the movie. Even in the Obi-Wan show, he is still conflicted, and you can feel it in your heart. To see that conflict wash away and see the light come back would be awesome to see in live action."

Rex shot at Ahsoka for a bit, I imagine Fox's resistance isn't enough.
The problem with the republic, it was too big, too many systems, too many senators, too many voices, too many people to say “well x will take care of it” allowing someone like ol’ sheeve to pull off just what he did. The galaxy for its own sake needs to be broken up into two or three republics
That's why is should have split into multiple unions with in so each can be governor more easily as well as having a number of military forces to help defend each of the union sector's yes their risk of session but better that over total collapse and or corruption.
When the Jedi found out that Palpy was the sith lord, why didn’t they execute order 65?
Because they were arrogant, and thought they could easily arrest him.
I want to see this animated so badly.
Such an awesome narrative and a good story. Nice Video!
"That was for Fives." I'm not crying; you're crying.
Hi
Execute order 65 no shit wait *blaster noises*
In a different channel i posted this idea. Glad you were able to see it through.
Day 11:
What if; Anakin never gave into his feelings for Padme, Aayla Secura was the chosen one and became Darth Talon, Shme Skywalker was adopted by the Tusken Raiders, Boba Fett saved his Tusken family, Count Dooku was a regular count for the CIS, Jabba the Hutt supported the Jedi at the Start of the Clone Wars, and finally, what if Sabine and Ezra fell in love?
Good story but I think that the Emperor would be a little smarter than that I think what he would've done if the clones came in is he would've ordered order 66 to supersede order 65 . order 65 would've been something if in the event the Senate took back power and replaced him as well to throw off the Jedi if the orders were discovered. So the moment that he said execute order 66 order 65 would've been nullified.
Nah
that is not how it works.
The original order would supersede the other because they are in direct conflict with each other.
If the Jedi executed Order 65 then Palpatine cannot execute Order 66 as to the clones he is no longer head of the GAR.
Which is why even if the Jedi knew about the contigency order's it wouldn't have saved them to just yell "Execute Order 65" cause that would be dumb.
Basically, Order 65 removes the Chancellor from the power structure according to the clones and Order 66 does the same but with the Jedi. The two groups in mention losing any authority or command they had over the clones.
Day 18 of asking "What if Vitiate returned in TPM and trained Anakin?"
A story Star Wars Visions needed
Sidious had the game rigged. If the Jedi had used order 65, he would have made it look like even more proof that the jedi were looking to take over, and given the chancellor even more right to execute order 66. NO WAY the chip would have let order 65 work
The chancellor would be ousted from power, so he couldn't activate order 66 as he no longer has the authority to give those orders, and it took representees from the jedi, senate and chancellor's office to initiate order 65 so it isn't turned against the jedi in this case. If all the powers, including someone from the chancellor's office, believe that the chancellor has betrayed them and had gone to the dark side as a traitor, the chancellor can't do anything against order 65. And Palpatine had activated order 66 after the jedi had tried to arrest him in the og timeline, giving reasonable cause for the order to be activated as the jedi acted on their own without telling anyone about what they were doing and they were technically committing treason in the eyes of everyone else. Same reason why the jedi couldn't use order 65 if they knew about it while order 66 was in effect, the jedi lose all authority to give any orders as they were seen as traitors.
Liteteratly anything that would happen would be better than what actualy happened in Revenge of the Sith
Finally, fives gets his revenge.
FINALLY A WHAT IF VIDEO ABOUT THIS!!!
