The level designs in this game were so good. So many different paths you can take to try to achieve that S rank or get those collectibles. This was definitely the best Sonic game in a very long time… and it’s hilarious because it stars Shadow lol.
I gotta try speed running these levels there my favourite levels to since you don’t have to use chaos control so it’s just preform to the best of your ability’s instead of spam chaos control lol. great run to I didn’t know that path existed at the top when you did the rail switch I just usually flew to the spring building but thanks to this video I have new knowledge.
This is exactly why I prefer running Radical Highway or Any%. I don't like chaos control strats at all. Hoping to have a sub-2 posted soon (currently at 2:01)
Thanks! I'm far from it, but I'm doing my best with the strats that I prefer to use. They usually aren't the best strats, but I try to push them as far as my old hands can take them
Ok so I don’t know what happened but during 0:08 I somehow jumped off the platform and went flying down not in the same way as you would when you hit the springs. Now I don’t know the inputs I did or neither did I record it which I wish I did,idk if this was a bug or something but I was never able to do this again which made me kinda confused on what I even did lol
I beat your time on radical highway act 1 i got 2:22.85 if you boost just after the dash rings before the rocket you can skip the rocket and fly all the way round until you reach a large cluster of dash ring that are a bit lower down - hope that makes sense but I’m sure it will click after a few try’s lol
Yeah that’s the one - when you come out of the dash ring as soon as you glow yellow hit the boost button and you will fly at double the speed you normally do and you make all the way to the bundle of dash rings that has a rainbow ring in the middle but if you don’t boost at the perfect time you wont make it you will only get halfway - Let me know how you get on 👍
I literally just PB'd a run with mistakes in a single try with this... wow. It saves 2 seconds lmfao. Edit: After messing around with this a little bit, I already have a 2:21. I still don't do the huge strats that can get this down to sub-2, but this is a great find that I haven't seen in top level runs yet. Thanks again.
You're welcome. Sadly this route is outdated and now I do a faster and easier version of the shortcut. Maybe I'll post it but I'm holding out for a sub-2

Using the rail switch as way to propel your self high up when the gravity switches is such a cool tech. Gotta add it to my runs :3

When you fly past the rocket don’t turn right to early as there is an invisible wall
