I am trying to go back to college after not making it even one semester due to life troubles. It took me 5 years to pay off one semester of loans! Glad I failed and was able to pay off my debt. Going to try and get no loans this time around. Thanks for the video!

Great info! I have 3 college students this coming fall and all have done some of these steps. 2 attended community college free for 2 years first. My 3rd received more scholarships and took AP tests to minimize costs. He will have the basic student loan (5500 + per year) but no other debt. I call that a win. My second is (transferring after community college) is taking the max number of CLEP exams allowed by her college (12 total credits) to minimize the $ for her.
CLEP is a secret weapon and almost every college -even Ivy League - accepts some! Look up the CLEP program at your college!!!!

I really want to become a nurse. My plan is to live at home and go to community college, the school I’ll be going to is priced as a community college but still offers nursing even for bachelors. I’ll be working part time as much as possible and do scholarships and hopefully fafsa, thank you !

if you’re someone like me who’s kind of in between low and medium income without a lot of fafsa support, ive been going part time to cut down costs. i’m also oldish and going back to school so i have work experience to be able to do that

I got no student aid from fafsa.

What was it that disqualified you from receiving aid?

    • @randaray24

I’ll never understand why the government would ever turn a student down for aid. It’s guaranteed money for them. Not like they’re doing people a favor by giving loans. It is a big fat win for them. The only way to get out of paying it back is if you die!
