Imo the storyline, the pace of the episodes and the detail of the characters beat Twilight hands down. I have never been into this whole vampire thing, but this series is really epic! As he said, even if you take out the vamp element, you still have a very well written and moving story. Also, I think he plays Damon very well (no doubt the most intriguing character), just as Nina is awesome as Elena/Cat, and Paul Wesley, man, he looks like he doesn't even act, he's Stef irl.
