[Guitar Cover] Brian May's StarLicks Intro

Today (20th Nov. 2023) is the 40th anniversary of the recording session of Brian May's StarLicks video, taken place in Sarm West Studio, London in 1983. To celebrate the anniversary, this is my take of Brian's improvisation as the Intro of the video.

VERY close to the original, a few minor differences in playing but I must say your tone is quite good indeed! How did you go about getting the tone?

Thank you. I played a Kz Red Special replica directly into an AXE FX III here.
On AXE-FX III, I used the blocks in the following presets to simulate Brian's rig in the Star Licks session:

- CE-1 forum.fractalaudio.com/threads/from-leon-todds-cave-boss-ce-1-ada-mp-1-chorus-eventide-micropitch.178419/#post-2174659
For the speaker cab, I used the IRs of AC30 cab recorded with Neumann U87, the very microphone used in the Star Lick session. In fact, I find using U87 the most important to recreate Star Licks session tone. As I cannot share the IRs, please look for third party AC30 IRs that has one recorded by U87.
