Said it many times , and after watching this montage of Faron's artistry , I feel impelled to say it again . I've never yet heard a better country music male vocalist . His intonation and enunciation , not to mention the rich resonant quality of his voice , are virtually without equal in the pantheon of country music celebrities .
Back in the 1960's when I was a country music radio DJ, I was backstage with Faron a few times. He could tell a story with the best of 'em and was easy to be around. One of the true giants of Country Music!!
This is why i love country music. What a legend. Faron Young is one of the classics that can bring a smile or a tear for me and lift me either way. TY FY❤
SURELY HE WAS THE MOST ENERGETIC SHOWMAN IN THE HISTORY OF COUNTRY MUSIC. HIS WIT AND CHARM, NOT FEATURED IN THESE CLIPS, WERE EXCEEDED BY NONE. THE SAME GOES FOR HIS ASTOUNDING VOICE. THE HIGHLIGHTS FOR ME WERE 'FOUR IN THE MORNING" AND "WINE ME UP." HE SHOULD BE ON A U.S. POSTAGE STAMP. HE HAD IT ALL! MILTON MOORE LAS VEGAS, NEVADA
More than just classic Country and Western music this is some of the best stuff, ever. Faron sounds great, and the musicians backing him on the various songs are the best. Just to see a young Lloyd Green on the steel is worth the price of admission. At 16:00 Love Fast and Faron are introduced by fellow West Monroe Louisiana native Webb Pierce. It was at Webb's urging that Faron started performing professionally and the rest as they say is history. Faron Young a truly unique talent we have been priveledged to enjoy.
Met Faron before a multi talented concert in Abilene Texas and had a liile personal conversation with him and he was a hoot. We were going home for supper, he wanted to know what we were having I told him beans and fried potatos he wanted to know if he could come with us, I said sure get in the car his manager had to get him out of the car and Faron wasn't exactly happy about it. I'll never forget it.
Faron Young biographer Diane Diekman says, “My research for Faron’s biography, ‘Live Fast, Love Hard: The Faron Young Story,’ convinced me he suffered from life-long depression, which was responsible for his suicide. He had retired several years earlier. His health and the music business were possible contributing factors, as was his alienation from his family.” And you are correct when you say, so sad.
Farons songs sound much better as he recorded them. When hes appering on stage he changes his style of singing. His songs dont sound as good as when he recorded them. Loved his origanal way of singing.
I've found many of Faron's live performances sound as good or better than the studio recording. One example is his live performance of Precious Memories on The Porter Wagoner Show I much prefer it over the studio track. Sometimes he does goof off a bit but that's okay it makes it different.
A story Faron told of his antics was this. He was getting dressed in his bus to play a gig, stepped off the bus naked asking his buddies (who were standing around drinking), who took his hairbrush, he needed to comb his hair. They looked at each other and said they didn't see the brush. Faron turned to get back on the bus and the hairbrush was wedged in his butt cheeks. Of course, Faron put it there to be funny.

He sings better than his band plays. Very rare..kinda like Elvis. Elvis sang better than his band played. Very rare
