Yea we had 19 confirmed tornados from 1 storm in NW LA a week ago. They tore stuff up. Tops of trees taken off. Trees laid over. I couldn't believe all of the carnage I came across the day after. I was in a rural area and it went on for a few miles on 1 road. I turned right off that road and the road I turned on had a few miles of carnage, also. It was crazy to see because it was all so random. Trees down, skip a few hundred yards, more carnage. Skip some more and then more carnage. Only 1 person died and it happened to be someone my mom knew. The top of a really tall pine tree came through her roof and killed her.

No kidding! That is a huge a thing for me when I'm out chasing... Pull over to the side of the Flippin road! I can't tell you how many times I have seen this and how many near miss accidents are caused by dumb decisions like this. Find a place to pull over. Not only did he/she park in the middle of the road it looks like they decided to do so in a intersection as well! Amazingly stupid! They won that award 🎉

For those that have ever wondered how someone could drive through a tornado without ever seeing it, watch at the 35 minute mark. It's often the rain that causes near-zero visibility hazards. You won't know you are in it until the wind slaps you real hard or when you nearly drive into a fallen tree depending on what kind of road you are on.
My dad called and told me about the storm while I was at work, the first picture that popped up really shocked me with how big some of these tornadoes were. My heart goes out to the people affected by these storms
The colour and resolution of your shots are great. I like how you keep the camera angle panned out enough so we can see the whole thing. Some people zoom in waaay too much and it kind of loses the impact of strength and power. Its HUGE!!!

I'm in southern California and just watched this. I grew up here, so I'm used to earthquakes, not tornadoes. This video made me really glad we don't get tornadoes!!! My heart goes out to all those affected by what I just watched. 😢
I live in Council Bluffs, IA. Tornado hit northwest edge of town just across river from downtown Omaha on Friday. Just a half block from my apartment building a man died. He was sheltering in his car in a carwash bay and the roof collapsed on him. He was 55 years old. A few minutes after the first Tornado hit another was circling around on the south east edge of town. It is the same massive one that hit Minden, IA and wiped half of the town.
God I hate that you poor folks have to go through this shit every spring. I'm sorry.. Stay strong the season is almost over. Then I have to deal with my Vegas heat. Which is just as deadly sometimes..

Live in northeast Lincoln. Only a few blocks where it dropped in the field. Lost power when it took the lines down. New something got hit hy all the emergency sirens to the east. So thankful it didn't kill anyone. That day the air outside wasn't right very weird feeling.
It is so interesting to be able to watch these tremendous storms in the comfort of my home. Having grown up in central Indiana, I can only imagine the panic of all those who were sheltering in place and the horror of all those who were living through one of these massive storms. Thanks to those who were and continue to chase these storms.

The shocking thing is all of these houses will be built in the same way making them vulnerable to another storm . yes you can say that "things don't matter ,we can always rebuild ." But that saying only applies to those with super insurance or have the cash available to build anew . also , insurance rates go up after a series of destructive storms . i would build an earth berm house ,so the tornado just passes over the house . yeah the garden is a goner but that's waay easier to replace than a new house .
Yep. An earth-bermed monolithic dome. Nothing is absolutely foolproof...but those domes offer a LOT more protection than the energy inefficient and toxic stick-built homes we keep building.

Wow! I'm about 15 miles from where this system hit Elkhorn, but I never saw how bad this was in Waverly. The Elkhorn tornado sucked two brothers out of their house as they were heading for the basement. Their dog started running back upstairs and they turned around to catch it. They were all right

That's not how to deal with life threatening situations, folks in that town are prone, and know what to expect, and there was storm chasers too, driving in a panic is worse in that situation.
I've seen a lot of tornado recordings, these are some of the most high quality, crisp photos of active tornados I've ever seen. Incredible stuff guys.

How to keep track of the weather during the storm season?
The wedge at 25:00 reminded one of the start of the El Reno tornado...huge circulation with multiple vortices dancing around the middle of it.
It also looks kinda of similar to the start of the Wadena 2010 tornado

Wow! I'm about 15 miles from where this system hit Elkhorn, but I never saw how bad this was in Waverly.
The Elkhorn tornado sucked two brothers out of their house as they were heading for the basement. Their dog started running back upstairs and they turned around to catch it. They were all right

It's not like those vehicles were in any immediate danger, so driving like an idiot will only make things worse for everyone. Calm and collected is the best way to handle a stressful scenario. You seem like the last person I'd want behind the wheel in a tornado situation lol. Panic panic panic!

That's not how to deal with life threatening situations, folks in that town are prone, and know what to expect, and there was storm chasers too, driving in a panic is worse in that situation.
