I'm cracking up. Used to go see the raisins at Alexander's every Monday night for quarter beer night. So how funny is it for me now to see wholesome little kids bopping up and down as Rob sings, "Mama's little baby likes fear and torture. Mama's little baby likes violent sex..." Ah, parents these days.
I tech’d these guys w/ Adrian back in 1989 in Santa Cruz. Never had more fun at a motel. Taught Adie how to juggle clubs. The Bears- Rob, Bob, Chris(& sometime Adie)- Thank You for a night not many schlubs get. The Victorian Inn, Santa Cruz. Love, Wendy (like Peter Pan). ✨
used to go see these guys (raisins) at the golden pheasant in milford. it's right on the little miami river and they used to jam so loud. the sound would carry on the water for miles. i know a couple of uptight pricks that used to get really bent out of shape because of that. good times!
OMFG! These guys are so tight! What a rare treat. In my opinion, they are every bit as vital and influential as the Beatles. They certanly blow both Squeeze and XTC out of the water.
@cziizi This guy (Rob Fetters) wrote the song! And The Beats (Belew/Fetters/Nyswonger/Arduser) did it second. Fetters recorded it in The Raisins before The Bears got going.
interesting comparison to XTC (who are also a personal favorite band of mine) they are both post punk alternative, and they are both completely under rated talents of world class proportions... and yes its weird that they are singing about violent sex while kids dance... glad to see some art gets through the mega uptight conservatives filtering cincy
Man I love this song! So hard to find since, I believe, this was mainly a hit in Cincinnati.
my all-time favorite song and my theme song.

Saw these guys many times during the nineties. They were a very under appreciated band to say the least. Much respect.
saw them as the raisins, the bears, and the psychodots

Excellent performance! You guys are my POWER POP favorite trio. And, please, more great video productions of this band.
Bring back the Bears!

I love this song but the first stanza and the Reds venue with the kids dancing is incongruous at best.
I hear that Paul McCartney guy playing all those Beatles songs and it just makes me so mad, I could spit.
you said it!!
Singer's rockin' that 80's hair style.
Crowded House jacket too.
Such a great song.
SEEN THE BEARS IN COLORADO IN THE 80S GREAT BAND YOU GUYS ROCK THE HOUSE DOWN !!!! CORSER
Band. THE Band
I was thinking the same thing...
interesting comparison to XTC

It used to be the The Raisins not psychodots
crowded house is dressed like fetters, circa forever. :)
- Are those dots on Robs guitar representative of real psychodots?
Or was quarter beer night on Wednesdays? All I know is I went to work hungover all summer. Now post the song "Quarters."
If you have any historical knowledge (or the IQ of a papaya) the words make perfect "sense". God protect us from the obvious.
Isaw
total cover - Adrian Belew and the Bears did this twenty years ago!
Umm..It's a Raisins sons...where these guys where long ago..Before Belew knew of them....
@@lou3194 Belew knew of the Raisins. AFAIK he was their producer.
Needs Adrian.
Funny how the singer is dressed like he's in Crowded House, circa 1987.
