I’d say it only really matters for those pesky “make people enthusiastic” quests during the special events and challenges because you’d need it in order to progress in the quest line. Or if you’re of a lower age then the production output might be more beneficial to you at first.
Luckily, there's a tavern boost to make enthusiasm happen quickly. 🥳 Yes, probably more helpful for lower ages but if they can get the event buildings to power up their cities, they probably don't need it either. 🎉
The tavern shop boost I believe has been around since the beginning of the game but don't quote me on it. Luckily, we can use the boost on event questlines when it asks for your city to be enthusiastic. Other than that I agree it's not needed. 🎉
@@LilianatheMagnificent Also this is the first time I've heard that happiness was vital before other then the boosts. You said something in the realm of them being vital to things like quests.
UberNerd mentioned in passing in one of his videos that Happiness didn't mean anything. He didn't flesh it out at all but I do remember him making that off-hand remark. And, no, I don't remember which video it was but it was recent (maybe back in December).

Regarding Quest Cycling for Goods production, I'm a FREAK for doing that. I NEED current Age Goods BAD! I trade down all the time - every day. Sometimes I even trade up! I haven't done the math but my CF cranks out a bunch of Goods every day at Collection time. But as far as the Coins from it, I don't care.

Happiness is a old gimmick. When they removed it from affecting battle points it became useless. I have also seen some people are starting to drop The Alcatraz from there towns as well with how many troops the event buildings put out.
That must have happened even before I started playing many years ago. I always see that random win screen with 120% gold happy face and I never understood it. I have heard of people deleting their Traz too but I need those troops because of how many I lose from resetting my army comps in GBG.
My Atomium is CRANKING out the Happies, tho, so I'm not worried about it BUT when I first bult a lot of Jumpin' Pumpkins, my Happiness went negative and I immediately pulled enough to bring me back to positive. I built an Oracle of Delphi to get a little happiness back but it's just a token amount. 2 Jumpin' Pumpkins (or so) would swamp a high level Oracle. At Level 74, my Oracle produces 4,600 Happies but 1 Jumpin' Pumpkin sucks down 5,888 Happies. So the Oracle isn't much help. The Atomium, on the other hand, is a BEAST! At level 81, mine produces 17,000 Happies. That's much better. Now, whether it's worth it just for Happiness is a whole other issue. The big names in FoE TH-cam videos are suggesting it ain't worth it. And if it only affects Coin and Supply production then, at over 10 BILLION Coins and 10 BILLION Supplies, I don't care. 🤔

Interesting. I've kinda asked this before to my guildmates. One said its no longer needed and the other said that the tavern shop replaces it.
