Pink stones are called "tuf" stones. They are volcanic rocks that are plentiful and native in Armenia. They regulate temperature well, so they are used in construction a lot.

Great video, I'm glad you enjoyed our beautiful Yerevan.
One point about Republic Square - though the buildings were built during the time Armenia was part of the Soviet Union, the designers and architects were Armenian and all of the buildings incorporate pre-Soviet Armenian design cues and materials (including the famous pink "tuff" stone), which have been a signature of Armenian architecture for over a millennia - compare the colours, arches and detailing on these buildings with the churches of Echmiadzin, for example.

Armenian people are very friendly. To answer to your question why buildings in Yerevan are pink ? Yerevan is mainly built of pink “tuff”.
Tuff is a light, porous type of rock made of volcanic ash during volcanic eruption and is largely found in Armenian Highlands.
    I love your videos!

Personally It's not nice when people are talking about Armenia they mention it was former soviet country etc. I think not need to mentioned it. What about U.K!!! I think there is not mentions about U.K. as former EU land despite that I am not against EU. Regarding of that architecture in Republic of Square is not soviet architecture, it's Italian style architecture. We were in Roman Empire in ancient times before being in soviet. In all center almost all are Italian style. Also outside of Yerevan we have in some cities Italian style architecture. We had even filming project within the framework of Roman Empire from Stuttgart Academy of Fine Arts(Germany). But now Armenia is changing into European architecture because it's part of Europe. You might not no. For example, in Belgium schools they have Europe map including Armenia. In Spain schools also they teach South Caucasus is in Europe. There is also University from Netherlands, Ireland, Spain that saying it's Europe and European institution, organizations international organizations such conservation of nature (Switzerland), World Atlas Europe map, European Atlas Quiz Britannica etc. Besides that Armenia is member state of the Council of Europe which is for Europe, according to criteria's that the country should be wholly or partly located in Europe for be member because USA Canada Mexico Japan Israel received observer status not membership because those are not Europe. Also, we are member state of European Political Community. It's for Europe too. It's says it's for European continent. We are also in EU-Eastern Partnership - When the initiative was launched in 2009, Europeans decided that a number of countries would qualify because of their geography Belarus Ukraine Moldova Georgia Armenia and Azerbaijan)- EURACTIV MEDIA NETWORK(Belgium). On Euronews in 2.11.2023 there were talking about democracy in Europe continent where they mentioned Armenia. Also there is a topic (Which country is the most welcoming? It's all down to visas, according to this new index by Euronews) where it says in Europe most welcoming country is Armenia...
Armenians are Europeans culturally historically politically too just it depends on whom you ask. For examples if you ask ex soviét/coming from Middle East spiritually middle eastern-armenians they wouldn't say that. Armenian language is also European from Indo-European language family

Interesting to learn all this - thanks for sharing! Although, it seems the interest/desire to be (western) European is holding more weight than other legacies - right? But of course, as and when the world order evolves to a less west-influenced scenario, this might change? Mainstream media always takes sides and defines perspectives... 🤓

    • @NutkaoItaly

@@TheBackpacksters you are not good in understanding actually. How can I be Western Europe if I am in East Europe according to European teachings. It's better Improve your English. Even in Spain, Belgium schools they teach South Caucasus in Europe and from EURACTIV MEDIA NETWORK it says Armenia... was qualified for EU-Eastern Europe Partnership because of geography. So, it doesn't make sense to come to my country and distort as you like and commenting such nonsense things. It's like to say India is Asia because of West Asian influences or East Asia or USA influences. Of course USA is dictating Google/Wikipedia which is not accurate. We shouldn't be manipulated by Google. Even Edinburgh Geografical Institute and Cambridge University (U.K.), Spain National University has Europe map where South Caucasus is in Europe

Iran and the Persians are the first state of the world and the oldest civilization still alive in the world, Armenia is not older than the Persians
