If TGA is really so pressed for time they could simply disallow cinematic trailers with no gameplay for games that just began preproduction and won't release for another three years (if at all). That alone would free up to 60+ minutes.
Then they'd lose 90% of the viewership. Nobody cares about some random indie game dev giving a 20 minute speech except for maybe 100 of the 300k+ people, they're looking for game announcements and trailers. If anything they should cut the poor attempts at Keanu Reeves-ing and just get on with the awards bit to fit more game reveals.
They could save a lot of time by not showcasing games that only exist to collect ESG checks. Like the deaf-girl game, or whatever that thing was with the black, female, (probably gay) protag, that looked like some pretentious modern art project more than a video game.

Then between the games on the list the update and expansion of Cyberpunk did way more for the game than the update of the others. That's why it wins. Something similar did happen with No Mans Sky back then. They should create a category for "Best games to revisit" or something, for expansions, dlc and updates like that in my opinion

Aside from Baldur's Gate 3 winning GoTY this was the worst Game Awards by a mile. Half of it was advertisements and the timer system blatantly telling people to "wrap it up" felt like a Monty Python skit.

It's just added content to the original game that isn't fully connected to the main story. Nor do you need to play it in order to get the whole story experience or anything like that.

They told that, the game story will be complete without DLC, they won't do a FFXV again, not that it won't be any DLC also the main story is indeed complete, both DLC add additionnal Lore (even if I'm curious about the second, since it was Told that Leviathan has disapeared and at least 1 Mothercrystal is already broken (the north one, where Shiva come from) for me Leviathan come from another country ravaged by Blight on Ash, if you look the border a full part of it isn't in Waloed borders, look enough for a country and Where Leviathan come from, that's my Theory)

But the second will add a whole ass new area to explore. It's just added content to the original game that isn't fully connected to the main story. Nor do you need to play it in order to get the whole story experience or anything like that.
