    What a brilliant demonstration of the amazing Yamaha Clavinova CVP-809. I wish you could de more demos of this amazing instrument like showing my styles such as Jazz, Gypsy, Latin and many more. Please provide us with a series of the amazing Yamaha Clavinova CVP-809 as you well know because of this major shortage and massively delayed supplies, this will keep us all happy and ready to make that purchase as well sound and well informed with great confidence. Jacob is an amazing musician and has demonstrated this Yamaha in such a way that I watched this like 30 times "Not a Joke!" Please give us more of this. Thanks a million, Sweetwater.

    Jacob, that piece you played on the CFX sound was awesome, I can't remember the name of that standard, all I can say is that your rendition was spectacular.
    Also that sound was extremely rich and detailed. Listenting back to that segment and closing my eyes it sounds like a live recording of an actual CFX.

      Hi, thanks for your interest! The included sounds are the same between the standard CVP-809 and the CVP-809GP. However, the physical lid on the GP version can be opened or closed to more accurately simulate the experience of playing an acoustic piano. Despite owning a Yamaha C-5 Conservatory Series 6'7" grand and a CVP-600 (mini grand) both in Polished Ebony, I just wish that Yamaha would make a reasonably priced upgrade kit, up to $2-3K for us loyal Yamaha Customers who have higher models of CVP series :) that will enable the keeping of the nice looking and sounding mini grand body & speaker system, to replace the little dated internal arranger sound module, or have an add-on soundboard with upgradable firmware (after all electronic keyboards are computers), or even with the updated keyboard module that can get slide out and replaced ?! :)
    As 88 keys piano is pretty much standard in width, such an available upgrade kit shouldn't be that hard to make available for a good higher end CVP (or even if available for add-on to my acoustic grand), will make us loyal Yamaha customers' instruments "Somewhat Ageless" like the acoustic grand. :)
    Just like in the Guitar World and Electronic Drums world, that one can replace the guitar pickups, or the Drum Brain Module with a newer or different ones, while keeping the existing good guitar body or higher end drum pads and cymbals, will make a lot of sense for the loyal Yamaha owners and the environment too, right ?! :)
    Otherwise, it's kind of hard to justify spending another $12-15K+ on a newer CVP-809GP that we all know will greatly depreciate as soon as another newer model comes out because it's an electronic keyboard that won't last for over 100 years like a hand-made acoustic grand ?!
    So for now, I just have to make-do with the other Yamaha PSR-S, Korg PA, Roland EA and BK series smaller arrangers for some updated sounds & features till Yamaha hears this idea ?! :) Just hope that Yamaha will do something before Korg, Roland or even Casio or other brands will come out with some "Yamaha-Compatible Add-On" or "Voice-Command" arranger modules to work compatibly with my Yamaha ? :)
    Meanwhile, I do envy all those who have a newer CVP-809GP, especially in Polished White one like I had in a Yamaha baby grand before, which doesn't show dust like the Polished Ebony do. But you can also envy my C-5 too :) LOOOL :)

    Fantastic demo! I'm curious about the song recording portion. Can you record the mic on its own tracks? How many songs can one store? Can they be converted to standard MP3 or .WAV files from the Clavinova?

    • @sweetwater
      @sweetwater  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi spacep0d, great questions! According to the manual (see page 75) the mic cannot be recorded on a separate track - everything is recorded to one stereo track. You can record up to 80 minutes per single recording. A flash drive can be used for storage, so the total number of songs would be dependent on the size of the drive or otherwise however much space is left in the on board user memory. They can be recorded in .wav or .mp3. You can also record directly to a computer over USB. If you want separate vocal tracks, recording to a computer would likely be the best solution. Give us a call if you want to go into more detail on that. Thanks!

    You'd be a lot better of with a decent digital piano, like the Roland FP-30 and then connect that to a decent laptop through midi.
    Then you have more sounds, more functions, more control, a bigger display, a keyboard, a mouse, you can save stuff on harddisk, and so forth. Sampling, etc.
    AND you can play a few games and internet on it.
    For about 1/4th of the money.
